Question, can you make a video of the Bluetti charging your Tesla and powering Starlink? It doesn’t have to do both at the same time. Just something to charge your car a few miles in case of emergency. Last thing, can you get in touch with the GoSun team about access to the Solar EV Charger? Is it just vaper ware or is it a working product?
@@surfntrucks Believe it or not I made a video for Bluetti years ago where I charge my Model 3 with one of their batteries - ruclips.net/video/mfRjvSQiNZU/видео.html
I hope there will be a Starlink Micro that is smaller, cheaper and with slower speed. I don't need 150Mbit download speed, 25Mbit down and 5Mbit up is more than enough for me. Unlimited data is a must though for streaming movies, but with the slower speed it should be cheaper around $50 a month.
You mentioned 150 Mbps down. I have been using my mini at home, and roaming in rural Australia, and getting as high as 265 Mbps. The mini is just an awesome bit of kit!
The title is really misleading. This is a mostly very positive review, you cancelling temporary because you don't need it right now is a sidenote at the end. Title makes it sounds like you made this video to show why starlink mini it isn't good enough (very negative)...
@@DirtyTesla Maybe you should focus on integrity instead of clickbait. If you make an honest video on a topic people want to watch the performance will come with it.
There ARE coatings on building windows which block RF energy. Especially tall buildings in proximity to rooftop antenna farms or high power transmitters such as TV and FM stations. Even though cellular and perhaps VHF/UHN signals can get through, the coating/content of the glass will distort/attenuate signals which need to be more in a beam.
When you do it as a add-on to your home address for the $30 do you have the ability to call the service? Because I just signed up for service for the mini and the $50 role plan allows you to call service so yes, I paid the 50 and I don’t know what happenedafter that. My service is paused. I only had it for long enough to do a couple speed test and I instantly pause service.
Got my mini last week and use it exclusively for our work truck because we are in areas where there is no cell service. Has been remarkably snappy when opening anything.
We all got to pay our bills, and this is your channel. That being said, your sponsorships are becoming heavy and forced, and your titles and video format is becoming clickbaity. This was a glowing positive review with an attention grabbing negative title. We need more positivity in the world and your channel started on fact-based, personal experience content, which feels like it’s fading. You had at least one video recently where the whole video was an ad for a product that you didn’t have your hands on and that was disappointing. I know the videos are a lot of work and have to be worth your time but take into account what content grew your audience.
Thanks for the feedback. I debated the title, but at the end of the day that's the truth - I have the starlink mini, but I decided to cancel the monthly fee because I don't need it. The content remains the same despite the title and thumbnail. Thank you for your years of support, I truly appreciate that. I will change the title to see if it negatively or positively impacts video performance.
Yep, it'll get you just about 3-5 miles but you need to trick the Tesla charger into thinking it's grounded... It's safe if you do it right but I won't cover that here 😁
I kinda want a Mini but I ended up picking up a Standard dish. Sure it isn't as compact but the separate router is great and has ethernet. I got mine in case I need it somewhere or in an emergency. I also use 5G internet at the moment even though I can get DSL or Cable if I really wanted.
Can you use your home and mobile starlinks at the same time? I'm curious because of a specific use case. (Seeing my home security cams remotely while I'm camping)
I also canceled my mini service. Low speed at such a high price was not worth it. My cell-phone hotspot gave me the same slow speed (34mbs). 100mbs should be minimum all around.
Do you use the Starlink mesh system for your house? I’m in a similar situation where Starlink is my only option, and I’m thinking about getting their mesh router.
Because when you already have Starlink, that's the only additional you need to pay to add mini to it. If you don't have any starlink service, you need to pay more.
Thanks Ryan. I have a Home Starlink also. I considered a Starlink mini for use instead of Tesla connectivity in my cars. Does it make sence to use Starlink mini @ $30 a month and not pay for ATT (LTE) from Tesla and did you ever see that Starlink would provide Nav, Traffic and Streaming instead of LTE on the road. Thanks for your channel.
As I am backpacking through the Balkans, I thought this might be an option. But if you have problems sticking it out of a hotel window, then it may not be much good. The internet in Bosnia is hit-and-miss currently.
We purchased Mini last week for camping and traveling. It took hours with “customer service “ to set it up. Works well. We were also talked into a “lifetime” and “priority access” for $600. Did anyone else get this “option”?
Hmm I do not believe we are talking about the same product... Starlink Mini does not use 5G, it connects directly to satellites in space. Where did you purchase it?
My only question is how much of the sky it needs to see. I have access to a good view of the horizon, and a decent bit of the sky, but I can't point it directly overhead, and there's a column to one side of the dish no matter how I mount it.. For all I know, that's either more than enough to run the thing, or barely enough to get a spotty dial up connection. Land line connections aren't possible where I live, so this is my only choice.
Starlink terminals need to see at least one starlink satellite in order to connect. There is a constant stream of satellites passing overhead all the time. They don't follow a set path so there's not specific direction to point the terminal other than "at the sky". If you have a partially obstructed view, it's very likely that it will still work but you may be more likely to experience temporary dropouts/disconnects if there happens to be no satellites in the area of sky you can see. Interuptions would pass very quickly because they are always moving. If you want to understand how the satellites move, do a google search for "starlink map".
You'd be surprised by the amount of comments my Starlink videos get telling me how dumb of a product Starlink is because they don't need it, I'm dumb because I need and use Starlink, etc 😂

Let me know the mic you have so I don’t accidentally buy it😐
Looks like the Hyper X haha
That’s the Hyper X
😅😅😅
That mic can’t be that bad. Maybe it’s the mic on the camera.
100% it looks like he mixed up audio inputs and used the webcam mic instead.

Tesla should build in star link
I think when they finish their direct to cell technology, it may come to tesla
Currently watching this on my fresh installed starlink mini in my model Y 😊
How about latency and jitter... What are the typical/best numbers... Can it ever play games reasonably? Or will lag be a huge deal?

You still need sound dampening panels in your studio. Have a look at those DIY panels from DIY Perks which can double as picture frames :)

I got my AC180 right after Hurricane Helene, wish I had it before with a Starlink.
I hope everything is getting better there!
@@DirtyTesla Besides the hiking trails, about normal for me now.
If you use up the 50gb will it just stop working or will it continue to work but at slower speeds?
You have to opt-int to consume additional Gb, through the app. By default it will stop working. Pricing is $1 per additional Gb
@@OneSolarPrepper Thanks. i picked one up during their sale.
I see you somewhat outdoors in the woods. How would you say it works like camping where there are more trees around
Is this review for the Starlink Mini or the power bank ?

Yeah, they're pokemon

Getting faster speed in the beginning and slows down is burst speed. It’s “normal”

I do not use starlink's mesh system. I use a netgear router mesh system, but tbh I do not need a mesh system, my house is not that big.
How come your plan is only $30/mo? When I look it up on their website, it says $50/mo for the Roam 50 GB plan?
Because when you already have Starlink, that's the only additional you need to pay to add mini to it. If you don't have any starlink service, you need to pay more.

When you mention the monthly cost increases by $30 when using the mini, is the limit 50 go or does it mimic the home internet? Great video! Thank you.
I believe it was 50gb but the plan wasn't 100% clear
pro tip when using power banks. avoid using AC inverter whenever possible to get better efficiency
H🤠WDY Chris!
Is it possible the wifi, such as at airports and hotels, could interfere with Starlink working?
Does this work on planes ?
Yes you just need to put it on top of the plane

I have not heard of that. You paid a $600 one time fee for lifetime internet or lifetime priority on top of the monthly fee?
On top of monthly fee. 5G and priority lifetime
And if it goes to 6G etc we would get that.
Hmm I do not believe we are talking about the same product... Starlink Mini does not use 5G, it connects directly to satellites in space. Where did you purchase it?

Would you be open to some constructive feedback?
The audio is kinda jacked.

Bluetooth or starlink mini? Think I heard more about a battery than the starlink Mini. Just saying
Can you take it Internationally to use it?
Yes it depends on your plan tho, need a more expensive plan for that

$600 for something u rarely going to use isnt worth it. I return mine. I’ll wait for the next gen. Hopefully device price is cheaper.
