Instead of drilling fragile tile, you can get a mason diamond bit for a dremel and grind a hole in the tile. You should have wood directly behind the tile to screw into.
Thanks for the tip! The wood was installed behind - I'm sorry I didn't include this part in the video. Decided to record the process after that step was completed. Best of luck!
I would never use a wrench on threads like that, too much of a risk to cause a leak, you said it yourself "I never have luck with those threaded connections". They make inside pipe wrenches that are made for this purpose!
I like it this video my comrade
I thought this was going to show how you ran the pipes, that's what I needed to know
It's very unique and depends on your main water supply location. Good luck!
Thank you
No big deal. Just a single cold water line terminated with a nipple sticking 1/2 inch out the wall hopefully anchored to a horizontal 2x6 with a hole in the upper two inches for the pipe. This give the THREE inch screws of the mounting flange something to bite into. Don't use those puny 1.5 inch screws! The vertical of the 1/2 inch pipe strapped to the back of the 2x6 running to the water source. Any number of ways to do it. Just keep in mind the flange must have something to screw into since that is what transfers the faucet weight into the wall..
Thank you very much for providing such a detailed explanation! So generous of you to do so!!! Best of luck!
hope that one screw in the glass backsplash doesn't come loose
I hope so too! My wife absolutely loves her new pot filler! Having an autoimmune condition affects her joints/wrists and she's very apprecitive she doesn't need to fill up big pots with water in a sink and carry them to the stove which is very painful. It seems like a splurge but for our big family who cooks a lot it was a necessety. We are really glad we had it done during our kitchen update so this screw better stays there :)
Stay healthy!
To secure your fitting with more than just one screw, the use of a diamond bit drill won’t damage your tiles. It allows you to make holes big enough for screws removing the exact amount of ceramic without damaging it. You should have a perfect fit with the ring and a more solid pot filler, and surely would clear your head of stress 😀
I’m thinking since that screw went into plywood, and as long as your feed pipe is mounted securely to the 2x4 behind the drywall and tiles, you’re good to go. But I’d still be super careful when moving the spout around. I have the same problem you mention with pipe threads on plumbing connections so I’m always more careful with anything that I do plumbing-wise, lol! Nice work! It looks great!
I don’t usually like subway tile, but that backsplash is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you very much! We wanted something timeless but with 21st sentury touch :) I'll let my wife know what you said - she loves to design beautiful spaces on a tight budget.
I agree! Very nice grey white and blues
Thank you very much Robert for appreciating my wife's choices! She's be thrilled to learn that you liked it. All the best!
Thank you,informative
Glad it was helpful!
you should wrap the threads before you use a wrench on threads
Thanks for the tip! I did wrap the threads - I'm sorry I didn't include this part in the video. It's my bad but it's not as easy to remember to record every step of the process however I agree it'd be the best way to present the process. Best of luck!
@@OnlineTrainingforEveryone We watched tighten it without wrapping the threads.

I truly mean no offense, but this is all wrong
How do you take it from the water source
additional piping had to be installed to bring water to this faucet. It's a bigger project but totally worth it! My wife is in love with this addition! Best of luck!
What brand/model is that pot filler? I have the same one from previous owner and the top handle is having issues
Thank you very much for watching! We got this one from homedepot - they are available in different finishes - ours is brushed nickel
Please let me know if it was helpful. All the best!!!

My pot filler just fell off the wall. They didn't use the right nipple, they didn't use the set screws it was just sitting there balancing.
Very sorry to hear that! Who installed it for you? How are you resolving the issue? Thanks for sharing!
I’m a plumber and I can tell you there’s nothing I hate more than a stupid plumber who does not know how to do their job
@@newkingd0m Insults don't help. Post some critique! What did he do wrong. How would YOU do it! Be helpful.
In my head Christoph Waltz is installing a pot filler in your kitchen.
Christoph Waltz would make a very handsome plumber :)
He'd make many housewives happy if he was doing this kind of services
Thank you very much for watching and making me smile! All the best!
at what height from the counter did you place it? thanks
Very clear and concise
Thanks for watching!!!
Apply paste to inside thread…..
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment as well. Please check out my newest video and let me know what you think about it

Please let me know if it was helpful and good luck in your journey!
You used pipe dope only and no teflon tape…How did that not leak?
Is it only cold water ?
Yes, it's only for cold water as you don't want to fill your pots where you're planning to cook your food with hot water. Hot water contains impurities that shouldn't go into the water for food preparation. Hope it makes sense but please feel free to ask any other questions you have. My wife really likes this addition to our kitchen as she doesn't need to carry big pots with water from sink to the stove. It's much easier and faster now to make pasta and many other dishes. Best of luck!
@@OnlineTrainingforEveryone thank you for answering 🙏
You're very welcome Erick!
This is "Online Training for Everyone" on how NOT TO DO IT. I can understand why he has trouble with threads like he stated. What I would like to know is with "Training" like this, how did he get 67.5k subscribers? Could this really be a comedy channel?
Thanks for watching Preston and for leaving your honest feedback! I would love to have a comedy channel, but unfortunately I'm not funny enough :)
Most of my videos are not home projects related - it's just something I do once in a blue moon to make my wife happy. The pot filler is going strong 1 year later after the install. It's a bummer you're saying I did something wrong. I've learned some things from my dad who also was just a weekend warrior and did things around the house.
Most of my videos are there to help people with the interview/job search process.
Good luck in your learning journey Preston!

Don’t worry, Mr. Preston is just one of those internet troll keyboard worriers. Keep posting videos!
Thank you very much John for your support and understanding! Just as in the expression "Happy wife happy life " - my wife is happy so am I :) The things we do to keep our loved ones happy! Best of luck!
No water filter on it?
Right on spot! You've pointed out to the flaw of this project - no filter unfortunately. It's the next project!Never boring in our household :)
Whole house filter!
We have a couple of filters installed already - a sophisticated system for the drinking water and another bigger filter for the rest of the water.
Since the initial plumbing didn't plan on having a water supply there it was connected to a pipe where no filter is connected. I'm planning on having a local filter installed one day. Best of luck!
Did he just call a brass nipple brushed nickel??? Lol
I'll check it Bobby - it could've been my accent :) Thanks for watching!
Yes he did.
Very sorry guys if I did it but you know it's not that simple to work on a plumbing project while trying to video record it and describe it in a foreign language :) Hope you understand the struggle :) Thanks for watching and giving me the feedback! All the best!
How did you run the pipe through the wall? I find that's more difficult
THIS GUY IS A SHOEMAKER I WILL BET THE CONNECTION WILL LEAK OR THE POT FILLER WILL DIP WITH USE
Not your fault. But I wish someone would show the difficult process of adding the piping to your house.
Good point! It is certainly a great idea for the video. And is probably very useful skill to learn! Might be hard to do though, since every house is rather unique. Good luck on your plumbing project!
Cleary isn't a plumber...shame on you...this is a hack way of doing things wrong.
You're correct Charles - I'm not a plumber, but what exactly you think I did wrong. It's been working great for a couple of years already and my wife is quite happy. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks for watching and all the best!!!
I love how people make videos of how to do things when they have no fuckin idea what they are doing
You don't have to be so rude, but yeah.
You just put chemicals into your drinking water
Please let me know why you think so Paul. Thanks!
At what height is the pot filler installed?
Great question Nolan! Honestly, we measured out tallest pot and added a couple of inches. We have a big family so lots of cooking happens regularly. Please let me know if it helped. Thanks!!!
