    Instead of drilling fragile tile, you can get a mason diamond bit for a dremel and grind a hole in the tile. You should have wood directly behind the tile to screw into.

    • @OnlineTrainingforEveryone
      @OnlineTrainingforEveryone  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the tip! The wood was installed behind - I'm sorry I didn't include this part in the video. Decided to record the process after that step was completed. Best of luck!

    I would never use a wrench on threads like that, too much of a risk to cause a leak, you said it yourself "I never have luck with those threaded connections". They make inside pipe wrenches that are made for this purpose!

      No big deal. Just a single cold water line terminated with a nipple sticking 1/2 inch out the wall hopefully anchored to a horizontal 2x6 with a hole in the upper two inches for the pipe. This give the THREE inch screws of the mounting flange something to bite into. Don't use those puny 1.5 inch screws! The vertical of the 1/2 inch pipe strapped to the back of the 2x6 running to the water source. Any number of ways to do it. Just keep in mind the flange must have something to screw into since that is what transfers the faucet weight into the wall..

    • @OnlineTrainingforEveryone
      @OnlineTrainingforEveryone  4 года назад +3

      I hope so too! My wife absolutely loves her new pot filler! Having an autoimmune condition affects her joints/wrists and she's very apprecitive she doesn't need to fill up big pots with water in a sink and carry them to the stove which is very painful. It seems like a splurge but for our big family who cooks a lot it was a necessety. We are really glad we had it done during our kitchen update so this screw better stays there :)
      Stay healthy!

      To secure your fitting with more than just one screw, the use of a diamond bit drill won’t damage your tiles. It allows you to make holes big enough for screws removing the exact amount of ceramic without damaging it. You should have a perfect fit with the ring and a more solid pot filler, and surely would clear your head of stress 😀

      I’m thinking since that screw went into plywood, and as long as your feed pipe is mounted securely to the 2x4 behind the drywall and tiles, you’re good to go. But I’d still be super careful when moving the spout around. I have the same problem you mention with pipe threads on plumbing connections so I’m always more careful with anything that I do plumbing-wise, lol! Nice work! It looks great!

    Is it only cold water ?

    • @OnlineTrainingforEveryone
      @OnlineTrainingforEveryone  2 года назад +2

      Yes, it's only for cold water as you don't want to fill your pots where you're planning to cook your food with hot water. Hot water contains impurities that shouldn't go into the water for food preparation. Hope it makes sense but please feel free to ask any other questions you have. My wife really likes this addition to our kitchen as she doesn't need to carry big pots with water from sink to the stove. It's much easier and faster now to make pasta and many other dishes. Best of luck!

    This is "Online Training for Everyone" on how NOT TO DO IT. I can understand why he has trouble with threads like he stated. What I would like to know is with "Training" like this, how did he get 67.5k subscribers? Could this really be a comedy channel?

      Thanks for watching Preston and for leaving your honest feedback! I would love to have a comedy channel, but unfortunately I'm not funny enough :)
      Most of my videos are not home projects related - it's just something I do once in a blue moon to make my wife happy. The pot filler is going strong 1 year later after the install. It's a bummer you're saying I did something wrong. I've learned some things from my dad who also was just a weekend warrior and did things around the house.
      Most of my videos are there to help people with the interview/job search process.
      Good luck in your learning journey Preston!

      We have a couple of filters installed already - a sophisticated system for the drinking water and another bigger filter for the rest of the water.
      Since the initial plumbing didn't plan on having a water supply there it was connected to a pipe where no filter is connected. I'm planning on having a local filter installed one day. Best of luck!
