Hello from S Oregon. We also changed out to a Lagun table. Our mount is back on the seat that houses the inverter. We also took it a step further and used the wood for the bed extension as our table top. So at night we pop the table top off and it goes down to complete the making of the bed. Works well and saves space. 😀 Happy B Day to John and your grandson. Great time to be in S Lake where our son also lives.
Hi Debbie and John. I rarely write any comments on the internet, but I have to take a minute to thank you for your videos. I do watch a lot of videos online, and yours stand out from the rest. I appreciate your "realness" above all. I don't mean to be negative or disparaging, but too many other RUclipsrs have forgotten how to just be themselves, be authentic, and be genuine, as if they've been living their fake persona for so long as an "influencer" that they've completely lost their real selves, never to be found again. OK, enough negativity. Your topics and adventures but, most of all, the way you cover them and present them as if unrehearsed, unsanitized, and as if you're talking like a real person to another real person is refreshing and priceless! You stand out, because you don't seem to be trying to stand out. This is a gift that you have that others can try to emulate, but I'm not sure it's an acquirable trait. I hope you'll keep it up as long as you enjoy it, because I certainly do. With the limited number of your videos that I've seen, I'm surprised and impressed at how impressed I've been and with how interesting your topics have been to me. "FINALLY!," I've often said, "a real person with real unsanitized topics and outstanding presentation and editing talent, concise but packed with all the little details." Thanks, again for just being you (and for remembering who you really are)!
Wow. First I have to apologize for taking 3 days to respond. Your comment went to the "held for review" file for some unknown reason. Usually that happens when someone includes a link and I forget to check it. Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. I suppose I have different goals than most people on the platform. I wanted to learn how to edit and needed the structure of a weekly commitment to make me follow through. In some ways, YT turns people into caricatures of themselves because the algorithm rewards channels for that kind of thing. I avoid many of the "grow your channel" "experts" for that reason. For me, I much rather have an audience of nice, thoughtful people who stumble upon the channel in some organic way. I'll keep being me, an ordinary older person who happens to have stumbled into an activity that she enjoys and hopefully you will continue to enjoy the content. Best wishes and thanks again.
You are awesome ! I had thought of attaching the lagun table to the corner wall of the bath/closet and driver's seat. In theory it would give a desk top/table for eating and help as 2nd counter when needed. I love the see thru drawer too. As always, you are an Earthbound Angel for sharing your experiments and discoveries.
Lowe’s has wooden bamboo trays that fit three across and three deep in our Pleasureway Plateau FL 2019. We are able to fit three across and three deep. You can find these in their home storage department
I have sat in the swiveled passenger seat so many times and said, I need something right *here.* I’m amazed by your precise measuring to get it within an eighth inch of the counter! It looks great and is much more multi-purpose than the flip up extension. 👏👏👏 Happy Birthdays to the boys!
Clear drawer tray is genius. You did a great job on the table install! I noticed the clip on the paper towel roll - another tiny tip that I forgot about and need to remember.
P W our paper towels have ended up in the sink... wet! We bungee our faucet before we travel and lock down our silverware drawer that likes to open on bumpy roads. And now we will clip our paper towels!
Looks very handy! We took our Pleasureway out for our first camping trip and just loved it. You definitely need to stay tidy on the kitchen counter and stove area.
DEBBY & JOHN hello, I seen it’s JOHNS BIRTHDAY, SO Happy birthday JOHN, So that last table tray. with the moat is BAMBOO, I have bought sets of 3 from HD as gifts, ours is 15 years , I use the medium size DAILY. Deb, we have had the darnedest weather, imagine 2 days 97^F, then down to the 50s @ night 1 night @ 38^F, couple days RAIN 2.6”MEMORIAL DAY weekend was a washout . I had to get the steam heat going . That drawer insert is a great idea, I have a totally different setup, partial 2 level, happy trails & safe travels 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I saw the table in your previous videos. I was going to ask you about that. I totally understand your having the anxiety of drilling holes into your RV for the first time. I would feel the same. Enjoy your time with your family. See you next week.
I recently got a Lagun table with two mounting brackets, one for front and one for back. I’m so happy with it that I wish I’d gotten it sooner! Thanks for all your great videos.
I bought a spice organizer from Amazon that I’m really happy with. It’s a vertical style organizer for the cabinet. It really helps conserve space. I don’t think I can put a link in this comment, so look for the Vertical Spice store on Amazon. Expensive, but really well made. I’ve had mine for over 5 years and it works great.
This video was so great and helpful! Totally appreciate the fact that you explain things so well and give reasons why! Also wanted to say that I noticed the Sam The Cooking guy sticker! 😁😆 Love that guy! Keep up the great work! Stay peaceful. 💛
Like the Laguan table placement and might add a second mount in the same area on my Lexor….On the road west and St. Louis tonight’s before hitting some Lewis & Clark sites on my way to MT.
We've had a Laguna for a couple of years. Granted in a larger space (23' Airstream) and we do love it. However, it does take awhile to get familiar with to how to move it around.
Since watching this video, the bamboo table (cutting board) has been on my mind. It's such a great idea and custom sizing can't be beat. Are you pleased with the bamboo cutting board as a table top?
LOL, that "first Drill" is the hardest! Mine was easier being 10 yrs old when I got mine used. You guys are "Creative Wizards" Looks Like we will be passing in the night once again up here in Washington State! I am heading to E WA to a winery one night then on to a Oregon Ghost Town for the next night and onward towards Big Timber.
Very informative video! Just like all your posts! Many thanks from the PW community!! May I ask what your plans are for the pop up counter extension that you removed to add the Lagun table? We have an XLTD and are desperate to add a pop up counter extension. But we are having a hard time finding the Corian color and someone to make it. If you’d consider selling it please let me know!!
Thanks Carl. I’m going to hang on to everything we have removed from the van for the day we buy another van. Have you tried asking PW for the name of the color? Have you asked on the forum?
Thanks, Debbie. What was the video where you explained the changes you made regarding storage in the under-sink area? We feel there’s some wasted space down there and I recall you tackled that. Also, we’re considering discarding our rear Lagun table and the bed boards and replacing them with a custom “fold over” table that would serve as both table and bed boards. I’d appreciate your thoughts.
Not sure what you mean by a fold over bed board. The way we use the van, I think a rear table is just annoying. But everyone is different. For me, the thing I don’t like about the bed boards is where they are stored (behind the drivers seat).
The basic idea is that you have to carry a table, and you also have to carry bed boards. But both are large, flat surfaces. So what if there were a way to just carry one large flat surface that did double duty as a table and as bed boards? One solution I have seen is to, in effect, use the “bed boards” as a table. During the day they’re the table, at night they’re the bed boards. Because the size of the two bed boards is so much larger than the size you’d want as a table, one idea I have seen is to have the bed boards fold in half using a special furniture hinge (I believe it’s called a butler hinge). It just seemed to me to be a nifty way to have one thing do double duty. So difficult to explain. I have a picture. Hopefully you get the idea
Yes, I considered doing something like that. My new Lagun table top is almost the same size as a bed board. I realized that wouldn’t work in that application because of the attached hardware. Our van originally came with a base that was screwed to the floor that held a leg and connected to a round too. So if you don’t mind screwing into the floor with a similar base, there isn’t any reason your idea wouldn’t work. Personally I would consider using just one of the existing boards and forget the piano hinge. Biggest problem is maneuvering around the table. I guess we just aren’t table people.
@@FromShetoMe That’s a really good idea. Our two bed boards are not actually big enough to fill in the space they could occupy when they are in place. Which is to say there is several inches of leftover space between the boards. What we could do is make a new, larger bed board that doubled as the table. The larger bed board would fully occupy the “leftover space” that’s there now when the boards are in place. During the day the unused, smaller bed board will fit in the rear overhead storage cabinet which is where we keep our bedding. This would obviate the need to carry both a table top and bed boards. Our existing table is 18” x 28 1/2”. The new bed board table would be 17” x 24 3/4” so there’s virtually no penalty. This is going to work very well.
Glad you didn't take Georges advise and mount Lagun table crooked...all that is needed is the offset you made. Mounting it crooked does nothing at all. Also the Lagun clamp needs to be pretty close to the mounting plate for the clamping action....yours seems pretty low....might hold, but could drop down.
Thanks. I forgot to mention the clamping action part. I had some interior elements to deal with. The company that makes these should do some videos with tips and tricks. It’s not as straight forward as we think it will be.
Thanks for posting this video! Awesome as always! We were just trying to decide if we would replace our existing lagun table with a bamboo table from that cutting board company! We were hoping the table would be lighter than the one supplied by PW, have you weighed yours? Dimensions?
Ours is 10" x 24" x 3/4". I have to believe it is lighter than the Corian used by PW. I considered getting thinner material but wanted to be sure the screws had enough material to "bite."
Debbie, I continue to follow you and hang onto every word. We just took our second trip in our PW. Loved this video! But unrelated...Do you still use that long flloor rug that is on your Amazon store? I want to know if it continues to meet your needs before I indulge in buying. I am using your Amazon store for many products that I might have otherwise not known about. Thank you in advance!
Thank you again. I hate to bother you but the runner is 23x60. Does that fit straight down the aisle? We have the bathroom sticking out at one end, and the ottomans at the other so just want to clarify on measurements. THank you.@@FromShetoMe
Hmmm. Our mat is 20 x 40. Amazon is known to switch products when one is discontinued/unavailable. Our mat is also a solid gray color which I don't see. I'll have to remove that item from my store because I don't know if it is similar enough. However, in response to your size limitations. It looks like a 60 x 23 would fit but would stop at the ottoman.
Thank you again. The link provided with the new rug had very mixed reviews, so I feel like I need to hold off for now. If you get wind of a good one that has held up like yours, I'm very interested! @@FromShetoMe
Just like my mom, I do stand a lot. But I have a tray that I use sometimes and if the weather permits, we'll eat outside. There is another benefit to having John up front...he's out of my way!
My tip is cafeteria tray! Multi-uses beside eating on it; feeding my dog, lap desk, food prep, carry things ...ect.
Thanks. I found a tray that fits perfectly between our sofa and ottoman and use it all the time for things.
