Haha - that made me laugh 😂 it’s definitely made a difference in creating usable space at the front - just wish I had done it sooner as it was one of those jobs which didn’t take an age too! I’m sure they will be super happy with their S&L as know they were after a longer one for some time and it does give additional space and layout - it looks a lovely van. Thanks for the comment - all the very best, David 👍
Well done David a great upgrade and it looks in keeping with the rest of the van furniture as well it makes the van much more liveable and gives more options for you to live within the van
Thanks Daniel, appreciated. It’s a shame they don’t do a wood effect side trim for the table in the same colour as it would have been a perfect match - as you say pretty close - I am thinking of changing my round black table for a white topped one so it matches in better and is a little lighter weight too. Thanks again, have a fantastic weekend, all the best, David 👍
Great mod David, it just shows that with a bit of thought and help from Bob the front of the cv20 is very usable. We love ours and l am quite tall and don't find a problem with the seating but will follow what you have done to further enhance the layout. Kay and Paul
Great idea for the CV20. We’ve the 40 and I’m thinking of doing something similar by the back doors. And yes having the two more ‘useable’ areas is great. Thanks for sharing. Chris & Tina.
Thanks very much - I was quite surprised at the difference it has made and as you say it creates a really useful usable area. The only thing I found for the back doors was the handle for the tightening up protrudes too far if facing the back door on ours so still working on an improved solution for the back 🤔 All the best, David 👍
Thanks, waiting for Heidi - Hymer to arrive and I think I will do this in mine, thanks to you and Bob Earnshaw.might even be able to do it myself….Girl Power!
Thank you for the comment - I'm sure you will do a cracking job - it's fairly straightforward, main thing to check is that the screws aren't too long for the table top and getting it level so the table is nice and level. Hope Heidi comes along very soon and let me know how you get on with your table install. All the very best, David 👍
Great idea David, well knicked of Bob 🙂 This is the reason we went for a CV40 style layout as i do like the front dinette, but having that area at the front is a perfect solution as more space is available at the rear, which is more important, and also the reason we went for a cv20 layout when choosing our Consort Reef S2, Now Rachael can stay in bed while you are at the front working on your next project 🙂 Take care my friend
Exactly, and I can keep out of her way when I'm in trouble too - the solution which just keeps giving haha Have a fantastic weekend, bet you are excited about the van - all the very best, David 👍
Thanks very much for the comment. It's certainly coming in very handy so well worth considering. Hope your CV20 turns up soon - it's painful waiting isn't it. Thanks again, all the very best, David 👍
Another great mod David, looks really useful and neat. Have to say the separate dining area in the cv40 is one of the main reasons we chose it but this definitely enhances the cv20 really well 👌
Thanks Tim, I've was really surprised the difference it has made as it's created another usable area which wasn't getting used and it's nice and comfortable to sit and "work" at. If I wasn't so tall I would have gone for the CV40 for the additional space but am really pleased with this as it's opened up options. All the very best, David 👍
Thank you - yes it’s already come in handy a couple of times in the last week or so - wish I had done it sooner! Have a great weekend, all the best, David 👍
Good mod that David 👍 we have been considering a panel van as our next adventure " it won't be just yet" and the CV 20 seems to tick all the boxes .. nice film
Thanks very much. It's really made a difference in the front as has opened up another space. We love the size of the CV20 and the space you get at the back, this has helped create a usable area in the front too. All the very best, David 👍
Hi Colin, we find we don’t use the original table but have a round one which i store above, what I am thinking of doing is getting a replacement for that as the table top I bought is much lighter weight than the black round one I have and we find that works well in the back, there is enough space however to store the original higher up if needed. All the best, David 👍
Where are you keeping your main table top David, as the space behind the drivers seat is now taken by the leg and table top for the front table? I saw (and emulated) the replacement of the legs for the main table, and the repurposing of the sink top - at that time you were still storing them behind the drivers seat.
I’ve been leaving the main table at home and have been using the round black one which I store behind the drivers seat - I’ve since replaced the one at the back with lagun style bracket fixed to the back door with a new top, then have the one at the front and just deciding which to have as a standalone table - I should really do an update video… 😀 hope that makes sense
Hi Mike, you would get away with it I think, the only issue would be less door open on the fridge when you have it set up but think it would be fine. Hope that helps, All the best, David 👍
Fair point - I have found it nice for looking out of the side door with it partially spun - obviously it’s not ideal as with some more space you could spin around like your new one but happy with it from my perspective as coming in handy 👍
Come on we know you want a CV40 really David. Good mod but your not fooling me, that's a drinks ⏳⏳table😎Where do you keep the original table now? It's a pity you can't get the CV40 layout with the bed length you need, sorry talking size again 😃😃 Cheers K.
I looked longingly at the CV40 but would need to lose a few inches height wise to sleep across the van 😂 I had actually dismissed the CV20 as thought it would be the base model rather than just layout until I saw one someone we knew had purchased and thought that would do nicely and it has. Clearly if there’s more than 2 of you travelling it’s no good but spot on for 1 or 2 people and if you’re not quite as tall as me you get much better choice for across the van sleeping options! I think there are some models (like Rick and Heathers new one) which crack that - will keep saving up and putting the lottery on in the meantime 😂 Have a great weekend, all the very best, David 👍
Nice mod David! Rick & Heather will be cancelling their S&L order now and going down this route instead 😉
Haha - that made me laugh 😂 it’s definitely made a difference in creating usable space at the front - just wish I had done it sooner as it was one of those jobs which didn’t take an age too!

No we won’t 😂

I had a bottle top sign and some wood so I made a table top out of that, it’s so much better and takes up less room too.
Sounds like a great solution and fantastic reuse too.
All the best, David 👍

Thank you - really pleased with the table as has made a usable area of an area we didn’t really use.

Thanks David. This is great. We are still waiting for our CV20 but already have your ideas stacked up to implement once it arrives !!

You modified that in a great way. Makes it all work much better. Nice mod. 👍.
Thank you - can't believe the difference it has made! Hope you're having a great weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Excellent mod. The CV20 is really missing a table up front. I bet you make a lot of use of this one.
Thank you - yes it’s already come in handy a couple of times in the last week or so - wish I had done it sooner!
Have a great weekend, all the best, David 👍
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sylvia, no problem at all.
All the best, David 👍
Looks like a good idea. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill, appreciated, certainly has made better use of a space we weren’t using. All the very best, David 👍
good idea and a great job
Thank you - certainly has made better use of the space in the front - hope you’re good - all the best, David 👍
Nice job David.
Thanks David, most appreciated. Have a great weekend, all the best, David 👍
Great video ! We really enjoyed it. Chelsea and Mike

Good is a David , where have you stored the original table ,in the same place, do both fit behind drivers seat
Hi Colin, we find we don’t use the original table but have a round one which i store above, what I am thinking of doing is getting a replacement for that as the table top I bought is much lighter weight than the black round one I have and we find that works well in the back, there is enough space however to store the original higher up if needed.

@@LeisureBit Thanks David, would be interested to see your new solution for the back!
Hi David, Do you think a 500mm diameter table top would work or would it be too large to fit . Just wanted your view on this . Thanks
Hi Mike, you would get away with it I think, the only issue would be less door open on the fridge when you have it set up but think it would be fine.
Hope that helps, All the best, David 👍
@@LeisureBit ok thanks David , I was going to go for a compromise at 450mm but they do not seem to come in that size . Thanks again - Mike
@@mikepeacock7586 I was just wondering if my black table top is 50cm, will check tomorrow and let you know how it fits if so
It looks useful but the seat not totally spinning stopped me thinking of it if I’m honest
