Hey guys. I messed this one up. "Up the ladder" and "down the ladder" are actually three consecutive rolls WITHOUT slips in between. I'm gonna leave this one up since there's some decent information in here about ring rolls and whatever, but know that this is not actually a proper ladder. If we are going to call this version of a ladder something, it should be named the "wet ladder," since you're slipping in between each step. Get it? Some clever devil came up with that one, not me. Cheers.

Your the man either way! Thanks for the vid! Love the name “wet ladder” I’m learning them now thanks to you! I’ve just gotten my one finger rolls down, not so good with inside rolls but I’m working on it! Thanks again bud have a good one

This video made me realize that I've been doing Begleri wrong the entire time. I've only been doing it for about a week or so, but starting over is still going to be a bit of a pain. So thank you for making me realize that, and showing me a good way to start doing it properly. Great video!

Thanks for this video, I see it's quite old but I'm just starting with begleri and after a lot of training on simple rolls I wanted to learn this and after seeing this video I'm starting to roll around one finger for the first time . As an absolute beginner I want to tell you that the most important part of this trick seems to be the shaking that you were talking about. As I started imitating your movement I didn't give much importance to that shaking because yes,you talk about that but it doesn't seem that important. Then I tried to focus on that and I understood, it's exactly that shaking that keeps the begleri rolling around the finger and don't let it run away. More specifically, as the bead rolls upon the finger, you have to shake the hand up, in order to force the bead some more momentum in going down. This is what I feel being the real 'starter' of the roll around the finger. Thanks again

musclebones thank you for this. I've been struggling with ladders for a month. I now have a better way to practice. With your help I finally made progress.

As usual, awesome tutorial! I don't know if you remember me but I was struggling with rolls a couple days ago and I've gotten much better, but still not good enough to do them with confidence. Hopefully I'll get there eventually!

here's a tip: start learning down the ladder first, if you know inside rolls already it will be second nature for you.

How do you do the slip from ring finger to middle finger while doing the rolls

  • @timedriverable

You need a better angle and your off camera. Even with slow motion cant see exactly what your doin. I like the tutorials where you grab the other end with the left hand and slowly show the complete movement, its a lot easier to follow. Outside of that great job.

I can't think of anything outside of what I went over in this video and my new video going over more tips for rolls. Maybe try to gain some finger independence? When you're not playing, try to touch the tip of each finger to your thumb one at a time, while keeping all other fingers extended. I know this sounds silly but being able to control each finger is important, especially when doing rolls.
