Jimmy..I learned about hail ...I have two air capable inflatable Coleman ground sleeping mats that are stored under my rig bed mattress for easy access to place one over my hood, the second one over my Navion windshield. Even in there un inflatable state, are thick enough, padded enough to keep hail damage from happening! The “Coleman MAX “mat as two grommets holes at the roll up flap and the opposite end have two straps that allow 4 short ropes to attach to. Then long bungee cords to secure to bummer and wheels. The one for windshield attaches to door handles so it stays in place with the wind etc. I hope you can visualize that easy protective method....saved my rig in Florida twice now and once in Louisiana. So sorry about that hail!! Glad u ok! And Scott head!!
So glad you got to experience "The Garden of the Gods". It's gorgeous, such beautiful film. My father took us horseback riding in Pikes Peak and then he pulled a trailer to the top with a station wagon. He was a brave man LOL! He loved camping and I hope he's in the heavens camping away. Have fun and stay safe Jimmy!
Like your channel. I'm glad your hanging with Teri and Scott. The tribe is awesome. Be safe. ⚡🌩🌧🤠. The weather this year is crazy. You mentioned Arkansas as a kid, and I went to college in Clarksville. The college of the Ozarks now university of the Ozarks. Travel safe the Northwest is nice and cool minus hail. Carolyn is there and it's beautiful. Ever since bass pro bought cabellas you can boondock there too.

The hail was a little painful :'0 The trees and the huge rocks saved us, but we really enjoyed the next day, going with you to GOTG and it was truly an enjoyable experience
This is a confession of a person with too many good youtube channels to watch! i tried to put you on the occasional list but here I am back where I left off catching up! Your work is better than Sometimes! Thanks For Wandering!!!!!
Weather happens - anywhere... It's summer also, and unless you're right on the ocean it's going to hot in the lower elevations. It sounds like you're having a "meh" time lately, and Colorado isn't what you envisioned. However, "freak weather" happens all over the United States in the summer and sometimes it's a "roll of the dice" to find a comfortable and cool spot. I'm so sorry that you and the others were caught in that storm, and glad everyone is basically OK. The roof lid cover on Teri and Scott's camper is an inexpensive and easy fix. A really fun event if you all are in the area is Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, WY from July 20-29. There are lots of free events (free pancake breakfast, parades, etc...) Parking is a little problematic, but when I went with a group we dry camped at a VFW grassy lot and gave a donation. At any rate, I hope the summer improves and you all find that "sweet spot" to enjoy. Take care, Cheryl
Sorry about the hail storm. That had to be scary! Colorado is beautiful but not enough to be offset by the bad weather. Your dinner looked amazing! We LOVE your cooking videos and always take notes! Maybe you can make that dish again when you are not as hungry! LOL
I’m in Western Colorado and we are having NO weather here!! Wish we could get something, it’s only hot here 😳☹️... I would choose that Pro Bass Shop too !! Happy Camping to you Jimmy!!
The food looked delicious. Loved the music in this video😍 Glad you didn’t get any hail damage, weather just comes with the territory. Thanks for sharing some beautiful views👍
It sounded like you were inside of a popcorn popper. 🍿🍿🍿LOL My heck those are large hail stones..☂️🌬🌨🌨🌩... I'm glad you didn't get serious damage. Great closing scenery on your video.🔖 Keep us up on your adventures Jimmy and thanks.🍿🌞💭💥
Jimmy, I know this is an old Vlog, but Colo. always has weather that way, It rains almost every afternoon between 1&3 then the sun will come back out, most of the time...... I was born in Sidney Nebraska, & raised in Omaha. My Grandparents lived in Sidney & had a cabin up in RED FEATHER LAKES COLO. Talk about Beauty, that is God's Country for sure. Dead Man's Mountain is up there. where a Man & a Bear fought to the death of both of them. There is also Lost Lake up there. they called it that because the Indian could find it, but the Soldiers could never find them there... Oh the Soldiers found it once, but there is a sister area up there that looks just like it so it confused them & they never found it again... Anyway, I spent every summer up in Red Feather from the time I was 2 until I was 16. I miss the Mountains. After my Grandparents died, my parents sold the Cabin, which ripped my heart out of my chest. My heart hasn't been right since... Anyway that is how I know so much about what goes on out there. I also lived in Westminster & Ft. Collins for awhile.... So where have I ended up? MICHIGAN....... MUCH TO MY DISMAY....
Lol Colorado weather is a beast of its own. Your reaction to it helps me to understand why I rarely see videos of other rv/van dwellers coming to visit the Centennial State. While Colorado is full of beauty and wonder, you have to really watch the weather forecast. Me? I want to visit other states but I will always come home to Colorado.
OhMyGosh you were in my neighborhood and I missed it! :( Sorry you were caught in the hail storm but glad you were on this side of town because being so close to the mountains sheilded you from the big baseball sized stuff. It is so beautiful here. I hope you enjoy it!
You need to go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, It's the highest Zoo in America and the prettiest. You can walk to the top Will Rogers shrine, Breathtaking views !!
Holy shot. Big hail balls. Yup Colorado gets crazy weather. I was there in '92 summer that night temps dove down to 30s and when I drove out next morning there was snow on top of the tall trees. But it sure is pretty out there. Stay safe / keep enjoying
I wonder if you've noticed dents in the locals' cars. Just wondering. No, your leftovers did not look scary at all. Some dishes improve on their second presentation's taste. You had me at collard greens. Thanks for this one. Always good to see you!
We get anywhere from golf ball to soft ball size here in Texas!! I hate hail, I've seen it do so much damage... I'm so glad that you guy's are okay.. Stay Safe Enjoy life and God bless you forever and always!! Hugs and Love for all 💕🤗💕
Colorado is known as the hail capital. Every May through June we seem to get these storms and damage usually too. Hope your van survived. You are so right about the weather. In the mts it is not quite as bad, but .... anyway it keeps it interesting living here. everyday is a bit different and we do get a lot of sun.
Hail is often associated with tornadic activity because of the amount of atmospheric uplift required to freeze the ice pellets over and over again. I'm glad there was no more serious damage than there was.
Hi Jimmy, We were just arriving in Colorado Springs when all hail broke loose! Pelt damage to car but Garden of the Gods on Monday morning was worth a few dents. Take care
Jimmy you are very calm. Being from Illinois you have seen a lot of Hail & are use to it. Teri seems to panic over everything. Poor thing. I am not being hateful. She is the nervous & worried type of personality.. I'm just mentioning this because I'm caring. Thank You for sharing SAVE TRAVELS
Extreme weather, crazy weather that’s Colorado, usually it doesn’t last very long and it changes to something else. When I live there I was surprised about how hot it actually got out of the summers that I was there frequently was 105°. Tornado warnings sirens going off!! I love Colorado!
Hail can be very scary especially when it happens while you are in a vehicle. Safe travels Jimmy! Oh and when choosing a dog it might be a good idea to make sure he/she travels well. I have always wanted to travel across the country so my husband and I bought a travel trailer last year and as it turns out our little dog doesn't travel well. She pants and shakes the whole time. We have to sedate her when we travel and she is still affected so for now we are staying pretty close to home. . I think ours is one of the few but I would definitely take your new girl for a test drive before you take her......That didn't sound very good but you know what I mean.
We get violent hail storms every July in Alberta with millions of $ in damage. They have small planes fly directly into the storm clouds and 'seed' them with silver nitrate in order to reduce the size of the stones.
Omgg! Haven’t been back to Manitou since ‘71... my word! It’s grown! Use to be the biggest hippie joint Ever...choppers lined the streets...oh my...I am now dated...😳😂🌷🚍
Garden of the Gods looks amazing! I kinda miss "real weather" (thunder and lightening, wind, hail) living here in So Cal. Used to live in Idaho and Wyoming. Cars get hail damage, many body shops make a ton out there for that.
Have a friend that lived in Manitou Springs. She loved it. Another friend lives in Colorado Springs a bit NE of the city. She’s been there for years and likes it also.
wandering jimmy yeah I think that weather was hitting NM also. That was some big A hail. Hope your van isn’t all dented up and solar panels ok. Meant to ask.
In Perth Western Australia a few years back there was s major hail storm with huge hail that damaged huge amounts of cars and property cause million and millions of dollars damage. You still see cars and you know it was in that storm. The footage @7:30 with the clouds was amazing 👍
Indian food! Oh please show us how to cook that dish. Good indian food is Garden of The Kitchens. Your vlogs have become my morning staple with my morning brew and vita mixed oranges over ice. Travel insights and sights with Wandering Jimmy. Scenes of Colorado are pretty.
Beautiful Beautiful scenery.... Yes nice place for a town, but your pick of a place to stay may let you get sleep. ByeBye storms can be trick at the best of times.
Monsoon Season. 😐 At least it comes and goes quickly. We very rarely have steady rain for hours on end. It’s usually about 10-15 min. And it’s almost daily or every other day. But it’s so beautiful here. You ain’t seen nothing yet as far as the beauty goes.
Hope you saved some of that hail for your cocktails! I know Mr JD would have! Lol! Did you go back to Colorado Springs to Bass Pro, or is there one in Manitou Springs!? Loved that little town!
WOW! Those huge thingies of clay were so interesting to see! I had never heard of Garden of the Gods, will Google it! 😉 👍 Your food looks good but it just might be too hot 🔥 for me. The curry stew I make is sweet & mild, with coconut milk. Its the Samoan way (I'm not Samoan, but we have a lot here & like every other ethnic group, their cuisine has influenced how we eat, LOL) Well, its only 5:30am here in Hawaii, so think I'll grab another hour of sleep. Thank you for the great video! 🤗💋
That stuff is like snap crackle and pop. Boy you can't get a break from the hail i hope you don't get any damage. I think you need to move north like south dakota and other northern states.
Scary hail storm ... I hope your van and solar panels weren't damaged.😨 Sorry you weren't able to visit the park like you wante. Ooh, my favorite ... horror movie😱👻👹👽👾💀😈👍

You're right about the rain in Colorado. It seems to pass quick but the huge hail was something we haven't experienced anywhere else.
I love the real life experiences. They prepare me for my journey.

What a storm! So glad you did not have any damage to your van. Colorado sure has some crazy weather, but it is a very beautiful state.
Thanks Carol! I had some dents, but not bad.
👍😋That food looked yummy. You’ll have to film it the next time you make it. 💞
We get violent hail storms every July in Alberta with millions of $ in damage. They have small planes fly directly into the storm clouds and 'seed' them with silver nitrate in order to reduce the size of the stones.
I grew up in Colorado and we had a saying, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."
When we were in Colorado we didn't have any hail. Garden of the Gods is one of my happy places.
Now That's Hail! Glad you're unscathed. 😊
Thanks MsBeach!
Wow! So glad neither of you guys suffered windshield cracks or REALLY major damage.
Garden of God's def on travel list...thank you for sharing!

Love your channel. You seem bored. Indian curry looks yummy. Ever make Kitchadi ( rice+dahl+vegs)
Hope you did not get much damage. Sometimes when the sun comes out the little dents from the hail will pop put. Be safe. ❤️

Wow did you check your roof for damage? I saw Scott had damage to his camper roof.
I got some minor dents. Solar panels are good!
wandering jimmy Well glad the solar panels made it, gives me hope mine will be ok if we ever get caught in it. That hail was big.
That was painful to watch the hail hitting your van. I hope you get to go back . garden of the gods is gorgeous.
Wow, major hail! Dinner looked good :)
at 8:29 did someone carve a face in that bolder at the base of large mound?
Scary hail storm ... I hope your van and solar panels weren't damaged.😨 Sorry you weren't able to visit the park like you wante. Ooh, my favorite ... horror movie😱👻👹👽👾💀😈👍

Oh my hail !! Thats was loud..yikes..still beautiful though. .did you have any damage? Safe travels...😎
The ultimate GOD - MOTHER NATURE - is always in charge! Hope you didn't get too many dents.
Just a few!
I feel like you haven’t seen the most beautiful parts of Colorado yet. Go West and North.
To me, the rocky mountain front is not the real Colorado gotta get on the other side of the continental divide to get to the best stuff.
I love the sound of rain/ice on a tin roof. Wouldn't like any damage it caused tho.😀.
Texas get hail a lot.
Sometimes things just don`t go perfect. We can tell through all the videos it seems you guys aren`t feeling the love of Co.. It is beautiful but if you can`t breathe it`s no fun.
you all should go to Southern Utah, I'm just saying. FIVE national parks and LOADS of BLM.
Yep, that is Colorado hail. We get it this time of year. Gets bigger too. Dont go in it, it hurts. YOu are in the desrt of Colorado. The Rockies are the pretty part everyone thinks of.
