I like some of your points and even though I've actually loved a couple of the films, it has been a bit messy. I definitely don't agree with baseman being the best baseman in recent years and for people to just completely discredit, write off or say superman has not been "respected" as of now is being short sighted. To me the full length version of bvs is actually a great movie. It really is. I wasn't sure if i liked it at first but i gave it a chance and then bought the digital hd full version. I've seen it 6 times. Man of steel is a beautiful movie as well. Loved that fresh take on it, the more edgey but highly advanced, regal krypton. It's good to see superman feel more relatable, human. (Yes i know he's not human) but he has lived here on earth all his life. Good to see him struggle with stress, self esteem, emotions what have you. I will say though, they could make him a little more the "beacon of hope and optimism" but i just think it's better when he's more textured. As much as i didn't wanna see cavill or Affleck go, i think Gunn will do great with the new people and new stories. I don't care for movies and shows as much anymore but i hope he'll change that.

I do believe though. The new My Adventures with Superman, show, is amazing! And it has the vibe I REALLY hopr Superman Legacy has
I think James Gunn and WB are going about the cinematic universe the wrong way. They should've built up the universe, and taken the time to properly lay the foundation. Not just throw us into an already existing universe that skips decades of history and growth we missed out on seeing. I wanna see how the world changes over time. Not mostly focusing on side/support characters that no one really cares about. Superman and Batman are the main pillars of the DC universe, and should've been treated as such. Being front and center of the cinematic universe. Give us a starting point for both, without doing origin stories. Simple stories that tell us why they matter, and acts as an introduction to their worlds. Taking inspiration from the DCAU, 2003 Teen Titans, and Young Justice.
I think Flash also failed because the Snyderverse never properly built up the universe. Never built up the good graces with fans, and because of that it never built up hype.
CGI's gawd awful, but it's still a really fun film. There were many events besides Ezra's crap that drove people away from this film. People are pissed with Gunn for the Cavill fiasco, the Amber Heard crap, the Ray Fisher crap, the Zack Snyder crap, and WB themselves cutting films up before release and creating an absolute mess. Most of the restored Ultimate stuff is great. But I'm planning on watching the Flash again, it doesn't slow down to get boring anywhere throughout. And the ending does make sense, up tp that point, Barry thought he made a change that didn't have an effect on time but vindicated his dad, but the reality is he's still not in his own timeline.
While I have, MUCH, more faith in Gunn than I did Snyder. The, EXACT same thing was said for Batman Vs Superman. “We’re not adapting the Death of Superman, just inspired by elements from it.”…. And we all saw how that turned out. I’m more worried he’s going to do the same, and be TOO inspired by this story and use it’s main plot of, Superman, is, dying.
@@SlolwySlothly Considering that Gunn wanted a younger actor than Cavill to play the character, I assume he wants to keep Superman for at least one more movie after Legacy, if he didn't, he probably would've just kept Cavill and killed him off in Legacy.
Once again, we all thought the exact same thing with BvS. But they killed Superman in his second film. We all thought Cavill would be getting atleast a trilogy before any note of Doomsday… DC’s track record is what is more worrying then James Gunn. And Cavill’s. More his own fault, as stated they just didn’t rehire him, and he’s got a contract to do some Warhammer show so, they were kinda forced to pick a new Supes… I can guarantee if the Rock hadn’t pulled his BS with the Black Adam post credits scene, which led to Cavill choosing 40k over DC. We likely could’ve still had him as Superman.

If you want, a show that truly, FEELS like Superman. Watch My Adventures with Superman! It gives the exact vibe that I am hoping Superman Legacy is going to have. But as you said, after the whole DCEU, it’s better to be one foot in, one foot out.
