He then showed me his Raikou. His shiny Raikou. He had never seen a normal Raikou and had only ever seen his shiny Raikou. I then proceeded to try to trick him into trading it to me, glad it didn't work, I would be damned to hell.

It took 1313 encounters, 13+13=26 which is the level of your Staryu and the name of your Staryu is RaikouPls which ultimately triggered the shiny. Isn't science amazing!

@@Alhalmeya Roamers aren't in your game until a certain point. This is the case with all Pokemon games. In this game, that point is giving Celio the Sapphire. Only then will Raikou be in the wild. Once that happens, all of his stats are preset. Including nature, IV's... and shininess. In other words you need to give Celio the Sapphire to put Raikou in the wild, then, without saving, check if he's shiny (which means going through the trouble of finding him) and if he isn't, reset all the way back to the point of giving Celio the Sapphire. EDIT: This is why he's able to run from Raikou, and when finding him again, he's still shiny.

I always shiny hunt my starter in every game because I love having a full shiny team. I think it took me around 7000 sr’s to get my shiny charmander and it was female ❤️ all I can say is it really happens when you least expect it
Um yeah i hope you know that after you snag a shiny in colosseum the chances of it being shiny are rolled again it happened to me once when i snagged a shiny bayleef in the game. And if you are, kudos you have the balls to do it.

15:14 In generation 3 the Pokemon's nature is use to calculate if the Pokemon is shiny. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that they share the same nature?

Yes, completely doable. The generation point is as you say, the TV much like Celio with the Sapphire in these games. I will be doing Latios fairly soon like this.
I honestly can't believe You have the patience to hunt a 3rd gen Roamer. I've only been Shiny hunting for a month with 12 shinies to my name (mostly quick SR legends) and I can't see myself doing this any time soon.
You'd be surprised how often I get these comments lol. It's certainly interesting for sure. The game references it as caught but there's no Dex entry. The same thing happens in Ruby/Sapphire too. I believe it was fixed in Emerald.

I don't, it's random. The gate randomizes the roamer location.
