You guys could actually do a part 2 of these!! There are things missing like potato gratin or daphinoise, potato croquettes, roasted potatoes, potato pancakes… also I feel like a German potato salad (without the mayo) would have gotten a better rating ☺️
Yes agree with you,potato gratin and dauphinois are in my opinion the best way to enjoy potatoes then a baked potato in 3rd place(I live in Ireland potatoes are like the national dish lol 😂)

Potato’s are epic! Besides chicken, it’s gotta be the most versatile food. Every culture has a great recipe and use for them and within those cultures, every house has its one loved recipe. Also, hello Joe! You’re a great addition. Hope we see you in a lot more content 😃

Was that jacket potato microwaved? If so they should try it with oil rubbed in and cooked in the oven, crispy skin and fluffy inside yummy. Only disadvantage is it is about an hour rather than 20 minutes but far superior

what kind of microwave takes more than 5 minutes to cook a potato?
@@q0rpz368 I am guessing you only use McCains frozen potatoes? They are precooked and indeed they take only 5 minutes. If you are microwaving a raw potato to make it a jacket potato it take at least 20 minutes in a microwave.

1. mashed spuds with plenty of butter and salt.
2. cold boiled potatoes with olive oil and salt (patates lesse)
3. big fried wedgie chips with onion salt.

My favorite is brat kartoffeln. It's chunks of potatoes pan fried with onions. Fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the outside, then served with horseradish. Beats hash browns every time. Also, a good mayonnaise for french fries is awesome!
My favorite is potato pancake, sometimes it’s mashed potatoes inside, with onions, they’re amazing.

Loaded thick chips are amazing. Melted cheese, crispy chopped bacon, chives, mild jalapenos with a side of sour cream.

I had horrible HG with my pregnancies, and a Wendy’s broccoli cheese baked potato was one of the few foods I could handle. I ate three in one day bc I was so hungry. To this day, I hold it close to my heart.

Greek style potatoes are the best. That's when they are cooked in stock, lemon juice, thyme and olive oil. I'm also shocked you didn't include roast potatoes, wedges and potato gems...

For me cook mashed potatoes in chicken stock, adds flavor and yes butter can add garlic cloves while boiling potatoes they'll get super soft and mash perfectly while adding flavor

The only thing missing was potato bake (super god for sure) and potato gems (god). I'd put roast potatoes up there with the hash brown and chips too. As in roast potatoes that go with a roast meal, which is totally different to the stuffed/baked potato in the jacket that they had.

@@chermp6787 I gues you could call it a potato casserole? It's basically scalloped/sliced potaoes layered in a dish with cream outed over it and maybe onions or chives and topped with a lot of grated cheese. Then bake in the oven Sometimes people add chopped up bacon. I think the French call it potaoes au gratin. And in England it's called scalloped potatoes.
Ok don’t hate me but I think potato gems are the same thing as hash browns so I imagine they’d be ranked the same.

Anyone who doesn't like potato salad has only had the store bought trash. Homemade potato salad with eggs onions and paprika. Like you can't. Hell I put that shit on bread and eat it like a sandwich the next day.

You should try different potato based dishes next, eg: Masala Thosa, Aloo parata, Potato curry (Sri lanka) etc.

PSA, I did not consider that a baked potato, idk if I was crazy because for me a baked potato goes with a roast and is generally accompanied with gravy. So if I looked confused in the video that’s why haha

You're definitely referring to a roast potato. Baked or jacket potato is usually done in the oven until the skin is black and then cut on half and stuffed with beans and cheese.
I guess I grew up with my Nan calling it the wrong thing 😂
Oven baked are the best. I heat some olive oil with garlic rosemary thyme and paprika. Add some butter and pour it over, then bake. Works great in an air fryer too, add lotsa salt at the end.

The skin on the jacket (baked) potato needs to be crispy!
I start it off in the microwave then bake in the oven. No foil! If you wrap it it won’t get crispy. Trust meeee. Banging! Also needs to be salted so the salt sticks to the crispy skin when it’s cooking
