A classmate who btw was a Jehovah's witness lent me a cassette of The Clash's first album and didn't know what to make of it. I was knew to punk and it sounded very weird for a guy who was used to listening pop and progressive rock. The song that drove my attention and was this one. Much much later, I worked for this Rock FM station in my hometown and it promoted a Reggae concert with the likes of The Wailers and aldo Junior Murvin. I was delighted.
cause his playing isnt so great. "strummer" hes strumming all 6 strings when he plays because hes a lefty playing with a righty guitar. mick was also more incharge of the levels on soundboard so of course he brings himself up.
Thanks for Upload, haven't seen this before ..Aylesbury Friars - a popular venue & often the start point for a band on the road... The 16tons tour with Mikey Dread I think ..
My mother died Boxing Day 1979 but I still went to this gig - the best gig I've ever attended. Emotionally raw doesn't describe it by half.
Eddie May sorry for your loss
My buddy bailed on me to go see them in 83. His gramma died that day. I went with his gf. To this day I still think he’s a pussy.
they are by far the coolest band to ever set this earth.
never a better band
R.I.P JUNIOR MURVIN-THE CLASH LOVED YOUR TRACK!!!
A lot of us loved Junior 'soul'Murvin & his music...

That just tears me apart. micks guitar and the keyboard going just awsome
I was there. Wasn't that the gig when Ian Dury & The Blockheads were the special mystery guests ? Excellent gig.
i was at this gig just amazing also saw them new york palladium capital theatre and boston orpheum all in the 80's. brings back great memories
Just as relevant now as it was back then!
A band I WISH I could've seen live!!
I was there - great memories. The December 1978 show at Friars was even better.
I was there 78 👍. Dunstable punks.

THE ONLY BAND, THAT MATTERED
J Civic matters
Lots of things 'matter' ..the Clash '79- '81 were my favourite band live & on record ...but there were other groups& genres that meant a lot....
great song....maybe the best...
I want this version on cd! the bootleg is so badd
Wow never seen this before great footage
Fucking good.
Freakin' awesome
Joe's guitar is turned down waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too low/
Blimey, it's a small world, I wrote about that gig in my book 'Damaged Goods'...
What happened to Aylesbury man
You can hear the similarity in so much music these days. This was still considered punk music back then.
It’s still considered punk music
