ISLE OF DOGS tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. I haven't seen the film, so I wouldn't know whether that was true or not for this trailer, but from the reviews I've seen, it seems to follow that aforementioned rule.

There are plenty of original movies that are out or have been out in the past year that people just don't bother to see.

Simmons Productions agreed. There is way too much originality to even keep up with. But lots of people only know what’s playing at the theatre...and have no idea that’s often the very least interesting and novel creations happening right now.
FirmGrip DownWithTheShip I work at a movie theater and see constant ads and promotion for original movies. Also, when you go see an A24 movie or an independently made film, the trailers before it are for other original, independent films that don't have the advertising budget to have 20 different tv spots, a billboard ad, a super bowl ad, 6 different posters, and 3 different trailers. When people complain about there being "no original movies," they're not necessarily wrong, but they truly don't care enough to make effort to look for original movies. Same applies to music and books. Sorry for getting kinda ranty/preachy lmao

For nearly 25 years the Coen Brothers were my favourite filmmakers. And I still love their work very much, but in the last five years maybe, certainly since The Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes Anderson has claimed top spot. His movies are thrilling, so beautiful they look almost edible, they're funny, poignant, thoroughly original and, most crucially I think, they are largely underpinned by the idea that, as intensely flawed as we are, a capacity exists still for kindness.
Why I want to see this:
1) Dogs
2) The animation
3) These people made The Fantastic Mr. Fox which is one of my favorite movies and I'd trust them with my life if I needed to.

The directing is so neat, orthogonal cameras make the movie look like a theater! Not to mention all the cool tricks here and there, like ukiyo-e, 2d hand-drawn animation on the TV screens and monitors. Totally loved it!

I watched this recently and really loved it. So cute and quirky. I also admire that even though it has cats vs dogs themes to it at parts, cats aren’t portrayed as evil like in a lot of films such as this, in fact they don’t talk at all, or play a huge part which leaves you to interpret what their part really is in the big picture. This is probably a totally trivial thing to think about but I really liked it because as someone who likes both cats and dogs I was getting tired of seeing films where cats are shown as antagonistic and dogs as precious angels. Instead of having cats be the great evil, it’s an evil, cat-loving human man that is the dogs’ enemy. I love it:

I've seen this movie on TV about 6 times. The dog personalities seem so well matched to the celebrities who do the voice acting.... Chief, Boss, Duke, King, Rex.....Just loved it.

When I saw this movie first time on channel I didn’t felt like watching but as I watched and watched i couldn’t take my eyes off the movie ..... so simple claymation and dialogues were so nicely put that it was just mesmerising for a claymation movie to be this good ... and I needed up watching that movie on repeat again and again
This Movie was just Amazing from beginning to end..it was EVERYTHING! 10/10 all star cast , animation was on point and hilarious...just enough drama to bring a tear to the eye ....any dog lover will treasure this movie...

isle of dogs will always be one of my favorite movies; the stop motion animation, the cast + characters, the soundtrack, the story - everything about it was, and still is, absolutely incredible. i rewatched this sometime last year and i still can't get enough of how good everything looks, such a great film. :)

What I love about Wes Anderson's' directing, is the symmetry! Its so odd to see that where not many people use it in films. But using it really sells the movie!

every time you see from a dog's perspective there is no red and green color on screen and color saturation is different, thats scientifically accurate dogs are color blind (they have dichromatic color perception)

This trailer was released on the day my dog strayed away from my home. She was 16 years old so she's very old and couldn't find way home by her self. My family tried to search for her until we find out she got ran over by a car and being taking care in the near pet clinic. With her injuries and her age, she died on 6 october last year. On 21 sep, that day, when i came back home after a long ride of search. I saw this trailer and the truth just hit right at my heart. Still, looking forward to see this movie.
