Darkchild got a huge check but you also don’t know all the terms of the sale. He may still be getting a royalty or may have even been able to finesse some other great points in the sale. If I had the catalogue he does, I would’ve only sold a portion of my catalogue (with some stipulations or benefits if I can finesse them) because it creates interest in the remaining songs and or increases their value because someone wants to own them or own them all. That’s IF I want to sell the remaining songs. He’s playing a game with sharks so feeding them some chum isn’t necessarily a bad idea if you can keep your ass out of the water.
