What thickness of pipe should normally be used to make a boom? And what material is the best pipe to use?

The menace arm kit comes in either 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 schedule 40 aluminum pipe. you can also get black steel schedule 40 pipe thats stronger. Most menace arms are 1-1/4 schedule 40 aluminum. It's pipe not tube so the 1-1/4 measurement is of the inside diameter not the outside. Wall thickness is whatever schedule 40 makes it at that size.

@@billyvoermann4833 You can use schedule 80 pipe also. It's heavier and thicker but has the same outside diameter as schedule 40 pipe(.i.e schedule 80 1.5" pipe has the same 1.9" outside diameter as schedule 40)
