Buying a Safari or XUV 700 is a matter of personal choice, but both the cars being the top favorite in this segment is a matter of national pride 🇮🇳 🇮🇳... So good to see Indian brands giving the big guns like Hyundai, MG, JEEP and KIA a run for their money.

JEEP might be the vehicle with best driving dynamics in this segment and can also compete with some vehicles above its class, but same was true for Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. Both duster and ecosport were critics favorites as well. In the end Long term survivablity of a brand depends on so many other factors like price, fuel efficiency, after sales etc.
And yes you are right to point out that jeep is a 5 seater option while some others in this segment are seven seaters. But when it comes to buying the car. The situation changes drastically..
A buyer may have, say for example Jeep in his/her mind before making a purchase decision. However when reviewing and comparing the price of the vehicles, they do get bent on overall value... so if a buyer sees that they are getting a seven seater, top of the line SUV, with some features available only in cars in the ultra premium segment, his decision swings to the overall value for money concept.
Indian buyers are one of the most informed customers globally and this too adds before purchase decision is finalized.

Mahindra is not innovative ,but load of Chinese gadgets,they couldn't fix problems if any arise as a problems arises in my Scorpio and,xuv500 is waste after 50000 km as it's electronics get defective they charge exhorbitant price for cheap gadgets. I wonder why Indian car companies never recalls their units to fix problems, as global manufacturer as Toyota,ford, Honda etc . Does Indian car companies are on sky level of perfection or only assemble .

Baaki sab toh theek hai par highway pe 20-25 ka avg to ARAI bhi claim nahi karti. Woh thora jayda ho gaya. Mere paas bhi harrier hai. Aur woh city me 9-12 ka avg deti hai aur highways pe at max 15-17( 70 km constant speed). I am talking about tank to tank avg. not what MID shows

Its a proud moment as an Indian that our Indian automakers have achieved such a feat.
what is there to be proud of TATA? nothing in the safari that is made by Indians. Engine is supplied by Fiat, Gear box is supplied by Hyundai, Platform is from Landrover. You should be proud only if the brand makes everything desi. Maruti and Hyundai are more Indian brands than TATA as they manufacture everything locally.

I.have done TD for both and there is no doubt that xuv is easy to drive..and kaushik sir would have felt this difference more because he drive manual safari and then compared it with auto xuv..but SUV wali feeling to Safari me hi hai..agar driving easiness ke liye gaadi Leni hai to aur bhi bahut sare options hai

Safari’s Automatic is much smoother than XUVs. Tried both for more than 50 kms.. Safaris Automatic transmission is effortless & doesn’t make that Boomy sound like XUV. I suppose that’s bcoz XUV Auto changes gear at much higher RPM. That was the real deal breaker for 700.
You need to test drive xuv 700 petrol automatic which is butter smooth and noise less.
It's smooth in Safari as it is Hyundai's gearbox. But if you put that gearbox in sports mode, then it will also make little bit more noise. Generally, sound depends upon the rpm as you pointed correctly 👍🏻.

It's a VFM proposition. Few things that are a deal breaker for me are 1) Too much of electronics. The more you have higher the chances of failure. I don't want to drive a laptop as my car. I like the simple old school stuff. Another con is, with all these large displays, power assisted seat movement etc, they put a serious load on the small stock battery provided. All these features require a higher capacity battery hence you get to hear so many complains of XUV 700 unable to start due to quick battery drainage. 2) Front DRL design is horrible. The door handles are rediculous and it is designed to fail from wear and tear quickly. Apart from these cons, if you can live with a FWD car, you can be happy even though it is not as imposing as the Safari.
Thir Row seats are a joke when compared to Safari.
No doubt driving dynamics are Better than safari, but at the end of the day, you need a reliable and safe car not a computer.
No need to highlight the dominating looks of Safari.
If someone wants a True-7 seater Safari is a clear winner.
