This is one of the channels that gave me courage to start my RUclips channel 6months ago. Now I have 420 subscribers and steadily growing . I know it's not comparable with others but I'm still proud I started, I hope to keep going 🙏💪
As a non-video grapher and a someone who uploaded from ip8 to ip15, Its amazing how a phone could shot something like this. Yeah we could agree it will never be comparable to a DSLR camera, but as someone like me who’s starting into a content creation world, it lit me with hope on how much great stuff I could record with my new phone. Thanks guys ❤️
Great job. I was a videographer for 35 years. I wish I had an iPhone back then it’s so cool what you can do today. It brings back a lot of memories shooting weddings. I’ve did thousands of them. Thank you again for this great video.
I remember I used to film weddings on my Canon 60d around 10 years ago and at that time I couldn't even imagine that mobile videography would reach such a high level one day
I have tested the ProRes LOG on my 15 Pro and my recommendation is to underexpose by 1 stop. if you expose at 0 you're going to have the highlights burned out. The LOG that we have on the iPhone 15 is not like the LOG that we have on any camera, with which we are accustomed to exposing at +1 / +3
I think the only real questions that matters at the end of this video are how did the client like the final product and how did the client feel about having their wedding shot on an iPhone versus a regular camera? Did they care or were they just happy to have all their moments captured and documented for them to see for the rest of their lives? I think we as videographers and cinematographers stress out way too much about “quality” instead of story.
Well things happen, a while ago when dslr started to become popular I was hired to record the wedding, so I decide to use my nikon camera (which I used in previos videos having a really great quality) but when my client saw me with it he asked for my professional camera then I explained him about then he said he hired a professional videographer who supposed to wear professional gear, so I tried to convince him to wait for results and he did but he doubting about final results
I wonder what the wedding guests must have thought about the guy who filmed THIS video. Like: "Why is this guy only aiming at the videographer ALL THE TIME?" 😀
Personally imo: I prefer a softer image with more contrast, glow & grain added in the colour grade. It would be v interesting to see how the footage looks with an ND & a cinesoft/satin filter added. And a stronger more pushed look with Denhancer or FC Nitrate. Footage looks v clean & great. Well done on shooting a wedding on an iPhone. You guys are awesome.
I filmed a wedding reception an iPhone 14 Pro and it came out really good and I’ve seen it actually a couple of times in other places of the world and filming weddings on phones become in a more regular thing as a lot of photographers really are charging a lot of money, so I’ve noticed more people are having a friend doing it with the phone
This video was so incredible to watch, it's truly amazing what's possible with our smartphones these days, we all live with one in our pocket. Amazing job on the video.
“Sometimes you have to be assertive…..to a man with an iPhone on a one wheel.” Best quote of the year 😂 The chromatic aberration, and the distortion on those moment lenses is pretty horrendous in the shot, the focused area is beautiful, but the edges are very distracting. Don’t mean to act like a know it all, but I hope it helps someone out there.
This is awesome . Thanks for this video TF team! As someone who shoots weddings I know how stressful a day can be never mind filming BTS at the same time, I gotta say, very well handled. I personally have always thought of log to be over-rated, mainly because I am not an expert colourist. There were 2 specific shots in the bridal room before ceremony that look absolutely magnificent but otherwise I would have guessed it was an iPhone, but that's the whole point of the video, so I would say - Success on all fronts!
Lets be honest here, for a phone it isn’t that bad at all! I cant believe how far we’ve come on smartphones in general. Yeah theres over expose spots but editing can fix that! Hope they liked the outcome! 🎉
That Davinci app is insane. Great tip on having them do the first look a couple of times. Photographers make them take pics over again so why not for video lol. The IPhone is definitely an amazing tool to use but for me it just lacks the depth of field and struggles with bright lighting. Been shooting weddings for 10 years and after this video I think I can use my iPhone 15 pro max for some shots in a pinch. I appreciate this video big time 🔥
just think.... not that long ago you had to have an actual large camera to get great results and even then the quality was sooo bad.. now you have just a tiny phone which does everything
I bought Powervision S1 and Hohem -6 both of which can be used for charging phones while taking video. Gimbols themselves can be used as power banks and don't have to carry that heavy power bank. That power bank can be used to charge the gimbals during the break or attached to the gimbal.
Did you use ND filters? The biggest issue I have with most iphone "Cinematic" iPhone footage is that people don't use ND and it doesn't have that true 24p motion blur from the 1/48 shutter speed. That is absolutely ESSENTIAL.
Very nicely done, as are all your videos, but I think this still very much looks like phone footage (not always a bad thing). The over-exposure is, as you suggest, a result of the challenging lighting conditions on the day, but is far from ideal, and the lens flare, though well-managed (and mostly edited out, I’m guessing) is a real giveaway. I’m skipping an upgrade because the lens flare is in general worse on the iPhone 15 than almost anything other option out there. If the Pocket 3 is better controlled it could be a much better option and, hopefully, a shot across Apple’s bows.
@poetryfilms yea he did a great job working with what he has the iPhone came along way if your still not interested checkout apples latest event scary fast that whole event was shot iPhone 15 pro max
Thanks for sharing and for all the work! In my opinion, it’s doable but only for tests. No client will be willing to pay an iPhone wedding filmmaker. It’s psychological.
I don't know who Matthew and Kimberly are. I just want to see a wedding video shot on an iPhone. At the beginning of the final video playing, I was still paying attention to the details of the results from the iPhone. For a long time I was carried away by the atmosphere, remembering some time ago when my older sister got married. I cried without realizing it. This proves that as long as you can convey stories and emotions, equipment is not important.
I don’t shoot weddings, but I LOVE using the iPhone 15pro max for B-roll on professional productions as WELL as my Onewheel. I know what you mean by “time to get back to work.” With the Onewheel. 😂
it's the eye behind the iphone!! so to speak...great effort for sure...I watched it in 4k...plenty of sharpeness in most shots-I might bring my 15 pro max on a small gimbal for B-roll or a C camera to my 2 Sony FX30...I'm a small operator anyway working my way up, but this is really good. Thank you for this.
Plus they used davinci’s camera app, which makes use of most if not all of the 15 pro’s features. I have the 15 pro and a DJI Osmo gimbal, so it’s amazing to see what is available to me. I got the one with 256 gb, do you think that I should still get a ssd drive?
It’s more important the eye behind the camera than glass of the lens. You can give the best camera in the world to someone who doesn’t have the same “artistic eye” and the same talent, and the result will always be worse than this guy filming with a iPhone 3Gs. This is a great and fantastic opportunity for people who want to learn more about photography and filmmaking. Congrats for your channel with great content. Keep going artists 💪
Very nicely done....however there was a lot of softness around the edges. Is this from the moment lens? I've never used a 3rd party lens, but I am assuming this is the cause of it.
Here in Florida with the dji restriction what we do is put the gimbal at the end of a collapsible painters extension pole and use it to fake "low flying" drone shots i imagine that with the use of a one wheel those shots would look epic.
Outstanding effort showing how the iphone is capable to be used as professional camera. My only comment is You do not need a gimbal to do all that. Your hand will be smoother with the built in Stab. Except if you shoot (standard) with Blackmagic app
It is always on to use Smart phone for social media purpose. But for Large size color prints, it is safe to capture the moment with real camera and professional lens.
You did a great job. I definitely would have added a little more contrast to some of the shots, they felt pretty washed out. Also, I noticed a lot of softening around quite a few shots. I’m assuming that’s from the attached lens? Kudos for what you did.
A Pro Max Iphone costs only 700 USD less than the FX30 which is a reference in the APSC/S35 sensor size atm. Put side by side the iPhone 15 Pro Max cant hold a candle to the quality of the FX30. Also renting a more expensive full frame FX3 for a day is definitely a cheap deal for a wedding, with all the glass needed. The smartphone cannot replace a big sensor unless it gets a big sensor. And im not talking about low light or dynamic range (those will improve with the tech) but i am talking about the aperture, DOF and projection. These are directly connected to the diameter of a lens. Is the iPhone "enough" for the average man? Yes, but its not enough for 2023 top of the line reference DSLRs.
You should definitely switch to the 5x to achieve some bokeh and get rid of the Moment lens, which adds too much blur, imperfections, and poor lighting that will lead to disappointing color grading. Log is great but with poor light reception, it's useless. This is especially true for outdoor scenes where you have plenty of space to step back.
Man alive .. I wish I had you for my wedding, ha. 😍 Beautiful shots. 💕 I’m mega impressed what the iPhone can do. Fab! Defo pinching a few tips. Thanks, great vid. 👍🏻
4:33 The quality of that shot is subpar, and it's quite noticeable. Is that video recorded at 60 frames per second with a gimbal ? The combination of gimbal and internal stabilization seems to have caused unwanted micro jitter blur.
I feel like all the close shots it looks amazing, almost interchangable with a real, even cinema camera. But as soon as there is too much going on and the details are many and far away it tendss to get a bit messy, alot of sharpening. dynamic range is a bit off and overall the detail lvl is too low due to the small sensor. but for any everyday content this phone is a beast and if u dont care too mucba bout commericalising ur content it shouldnt matter. this does the job for most
As someone who shoots weddings, its cool to see how capable and uncapable the phone is. What shocked me was you couldn't get exterior shots because of the sun. with cinima cameras this never happens (with my crew atleast) the sun is barely ever a worry of ours.
I have a v mount set up on my rs3 that helps with charging my camera and I use my phone as a monitor so it chargers that as well. Might be a great power solution if you use one of those MagSafe chargers with a power brick of some sort since the regular charging port is used for the hard drive. Great work as well!
I think the film is actually great, I like the lens, the color grading, also the background music fits the film so well. However, there are some scenes when shooting under the sun, people are crowded, I can't help but noticed that there are some blurs and weird color on the edge of the tree trunks. We cannot deny that an iPhone is now capable of filming a wedding video, but it still requires more light, and enough battery power. I know that it was purposely slowing down for a better emotional expression, and some color grading tricks on the lights, but a camera could do it better. At the end of the day, the story it tells, matters more than the quality of each frames, and an iPhone has already provided enough of quality.
I hope you use a telephoto lens because there is a lot of unnecessary space in the video. Also use an ND filter and maybe Fuji film style tones will make it better.
Hi really nice video and creation process, I own Iphone 13 and filming with it many daylight events because of its flexibility, stabilisation and slow-motion even using it next to the professional cameras and the results are amazing. Of course iPhone never will be replacement of real camera for the digital look it has and it doesn't matter if you shoot in Log or Pro-Res is just more work to process this footage and only eating more memory space. I stick with basic HDR profile than after the basic colorgrading using the best film emulation plugin "Dehancer" this is the bang converting digital looking image to looks like analog footage with an extra layers of power windows with filtration, blurring edges , vignets and volumetric effects. If you didn't tried yet Dehencer you really have to! This change everything... At the end no matter which camera you use but how you know to use it in effective and creative way. Great video!!!
Certainly you can film a wedding, however limited zoom capabilities would stop me using for filming a wedding. Otherwise an editing becomes a fairly complex.
I still don't understand why people insist on shoot in 24fps. IT'S NOT CINEMATIC when you shoot it with an iPhone and watch it on a 60Hz monitor. 24fps looks very choppy!!! You have to take a look at the Apple channel and see that their videos are recorded, for the most part, in 30fps. Even the last video of the M3 that has been shoot with the iPhone 15 Pro Max is in 30fps...
I'll never use a phone for weddings or corporate... They would look at me and say "Wtf is that" 😂. But.... What is the over heating vs recording time ratio, because it's a phone does it drop frames? Is there a recording limit? (the common recording limit is 15min or 30min). And it deffinatly needs to be filmed from someone that understands sensor limitations and color correction like yourself.... A very good proof of concept 🤔😎. A top tip for anyone else: probably not a good idea to advertise "we shoot all weddings on a I phone" as there WILL be clients that will not hire you 😂... Or will not pay top dollar/pounds to you for shooting on a I phone. ✌🏻
5:42 Look, I don"t shoot weddings but maybe directing a first look for a father daughter moment; looses any and all natural candid moment that will obviously happen when a dad sees his daughter for the first time. That was panful to watch.

You can film a wedding with any camera really. Obviously the end result will vary. Great short highlight video
Very nice 👌 n it's looks very cinematic. Awesome work guys n really amazing ❤. The final results was awesome 👌
No hay punto de comparación con lo que sale con una cámara pero para creación de contenido al momento es genial
I really enjoy watching your videos! They are so entertaining and helpful! I will soon get a Sony Zv-e10 and want to know if it’s worth it.
It is, I've done a couple of weddings with it. 👍
@@markofadljevic1975 thanks for your opinion! Really helpful
Beautiful end result for the couple.
Olá! Sou do Brasil! Parabéns pelo trabalho e pelo conteúdo! Ficou show! Congratulations!
If it was shot by *Auxout* then camera angles and cinematography would have been 1000X Times better!
5:42 Look, I don"t shoot weddings but maybe directing a first look for a father daughter moment; looses any and all natural candid moment that will obviously happen when a dad sees his daughter for the first time. That was panful to watch.
"Just turn around and smile!? 🤣
Nice as always . Question: in the BM app did you turn off stabilize as you had the phone on the gimbal?
