You can immediately notice how the beginner focused on showcasing the car itself the whole time while the Pro built a story around it, which drives the attention of the viewer and makes everything more interesting .. Also sound design plays a huge role as well!
Actually, a small camera that you can mount anywhere on the car is a huge advantage when shooting fast action car scenes. The big rig shows how when you’re starting out the gear needs to stay out of the way and focus on composition and story. Shooting with intention. I bought the Pocket 3 because something small and easy like this inspires me to take it with me and shoot more.
Landon spent most of the time driving that bugatti into the container, and i didn't expect his edit to be so complete, great job. Megan has kudos for the effort.
And this is exactly why Landon is the most creative director/editor in FTF. I remember when Parker used to talk about how sound design is so important (50% of the final film) ... well this short commercial proved it 100%! PS.: 5-6hrs of editing doesn't seem short, but then you think of all the sound effect searching... and you realize 5-6hrs is barely enough anymore :D
Sound is more like 51%. It's literally more important. :) you can make it through a film with good sound and poor video. But you might not make it through with great video and poor sound.
Genuinely one of the best videos I've ever watched on RUclips. when I first saw the pro's final edit's I was shocked for couple of minutes! BTW I bought the Osmo Pocket 3. totally worth it.
Proof that sound and editing is more important than expensive equipment. As long as the image is clean and the action inside the frame moves with the edit the end product will be Imactful
Incredible work from both but Landon just fucking murdered this challenge! With this little time window and even putting the car into the container which might have cost almost half of the time he had this is insane and just shows if you know what you’re doing there is no need to overshoot. Honestly the biggest ,,aha“ I picked for myself was the audio production. Watched it twice with and without audio and it’s 80% more intense with the sound design! Well done guys
the pro sequence was mindblowing. there's just so much thought process that goes into a finished product that a hobbyist probably won't even be aware of.
I’m 4 years into content creation and just passed 250k subs on the verticals. This was inspiring AF. I haven’t TOUCHED sound design beyond basic music and this was cinema pedagogy one two punch. Thank you for this lesson. Came to see how the Pocket 3 looked. Left looking at my sound design self in the pedagogic mirror. DAMN.
Kudos to Megan for going on the spot. This shows it's the artist, not the paint brush. Obviously the DJI Pocket 3 is incredible, but visuals are only a small part of a powerful video.
Yeah this is definitely the best use of the osmo pocket 3 that I've seen so far since release. Really goes to show that it's capable of capturing great looking image, but really what it comes down to is the other elements such as telling the story, having that in your mind and understanding how to get those shots, and then of course amazing sound design. All skills that can be worked on and improved and I find this video really inspiring
I don't know how RUclips algorithm led me to this video but I'm glad it did. This is probably by far the best example of Exposition VS. Let the Picture do the talking. This is master class. Bravo to both of you. You have my sup.
I absolutely LOVE these "Pro vs Not Pro" people or equipment - youtube videos with the critiques and sharing results, etc. and you guys totally nail it! Awesome! Thank you, You've got a new subscriber!
This is great!! Megan looked like a pro handling that Ronin 4D. Landon showed his mega skills as always, and his edits with the Pocket 3 are stunning! I really liked both films, and both cameras are ones I hope to have. Great job!!!
This man immediately immersed me when his video started playing. Well done my friend, well done. You made me like video and editing even more with this.
Maaaan ! The power of sound design just insane fr. Haven't seen anything yet and was directly appeal to see more of the car. I take a serious note of that. Very interesting !!
It always comes down to the editing and sound design when it comes to action, as proven once again in this video. Props to Landon for being very nice in his critiques, editing is a tough job!
The pro cut definitely won. Top gear does awesome car introductions exactly like this and I found the key is tease pieces of the car, let the viewers guess what car it is from gradually easier peaks at the car, then finally unleash it in a full view that fits the car. If it's a fast aggressive car, be aggressive. If it's a slower luxurious car let it roll into frame on its time. When appealing to car enthusiasts understand that every car has a personality and lean into it.
I literally cried when you gave her access to full-time video, out of happiness for her. Because not all of us can afford it, it has been a great award, also the DJI Pocket 3, but the academy is a GIFT! Congratulations on the video, I loved it! God bless you!
@@CJ-xv7rw I have the 14 Pro Max but looking at the upgrade. I think I’ll still do the Pocket 3 because of the mechanical gimbal vs. Digital stabilization. From the clips I’ve seen the Pocket 3 would be great for what I need. Mostly recap videos that I try to make a little elevated. Nothing too cinematic 👍🏼
this video has taught me that audio production can take a video to another level...i was doubting if the time u wasted on the container was worth it but after i saw what your vision was, i was so wrong...woww
This has been a Fun video to watch.. I've always been a huge believer in prioritizing skill mastery over over obsessing over what gear is or isn't available and I think you both killed it and I can't wait to see what you've got for us coming next on the beginner vs pro.. I really enjoy this type of content from you guys! ☺👊
a nice intro by an experienced person with great sound effects. When I watched this video I should know, from the start not to reveal your character. just show the environment first. then go for the rest of things
Great Video! I cannot believe you rolled a $3M Car up on some wood beams to get into that container. I was stressed out for you guys. Amazing results for the intro. I was really impressed with how well that OSMO did. I would have been curious to see the footage in 4K, but well done. Thanks for Sharing.
I love this series it also gives me a perspective on how a pro does things compared to a beginner, I can at the same time compare myself too which helps me get new insights
The Dior astrology bag is so beautiful, and when you put it close to the camera, I thought wow, I must understand why it is so expensive! And I've always wanted a classic Chanel flip top *luxdups*
Absolutely sold🎉 Bravo👍👍👍 Hard to believe it’s done by the DJI P3, Brilliant🎉 Man, gotta do way lot more UE food deliveries to be able to get close to one though…only have DJI OA3 & iP14PM to play around with my channel but seriously I love OA3 so much already… Glad to get this video into my YT feed, Thank God, for some reasons, I did not skip it 🎉🎉🎉 Amazing Episode👍👍👍
To be fair he already have a plan, an also scout the area before the shoot, she was pretty much getting the camera and start shooting random not saying is a bad thing but that preparation is import also to have a basic shot list.
OK, so this was really eye opening... it's easy to say gear doesn't matter, but this video absolutely backs it up with a comparison. I wish every gear review included a review of the item as used by a beginner vs pro.
I would love to see that both of you try to edit each others footage as well too before seeing how you edited your own. it would be interesting to see and a great learning thing for the beginner
I think my favorite takeaway from this is that a lot of Landon's shots were very simple. There may have been one or two shots that MIGHT have been a little more complex, but for the most part everything was pretty straightforward and it worked fantastically. It shows that you don't need to overcomplicate things to get great results. I think their videos were very similar, it's just Landon's had more intensity. But I totally felt like Megan had the right concept. She just needed that little extra bite in her video. Both did great.
Wow ! this serie keep getting better and better and better 🤩💥 I shot cars and supercars a lot and i have to say Landon video blew me away : the sound work and storytelling was top notch
Loved this! Really like the feedback the pro gave to the beginner and daring/hearing the difference in what they were trying to achieve as well was ace!
So, I dunno, I must’ve had low expectations or something from that pocket cam. Watching that final clip legit brought a huge smile to my face and I ain’t a car and a total grumpy old man. Absolute plaudits. I’m about 2 months into my filming/editing journey but I realise the bar is so high on RUclips
Who won? 🏆
She won 😂😂😂😂
He won 😁
For a beginner, she did excellently, but I'm going to have to give this point to Landon
As a professional even if you use phone you'll win😂❤
Landon did an amazing job and I enjoyed Megan’s edit as well! I’m shocked how well the quality is of the pocket 3
You can immediately notice how the beginner focused on showcasing the car itself the whole time while the Pro built a story around it, which drives the attention of the viewer and makes everything more interesting .. Also sound design plays a huge role as well!

Sound design is everything!
😮Ohhhhhhh
good analysis!
Sound design and digital zoom makes it all here fot the pro ;)
Beginner vs pro is hands down the best format for a gear review! This was crazy entertaining.
Landon's sound design takes center stage. Intense and dramatic, even before the first shot. Megan is super fun and I'm exited to see her in FTF!
Actually, a small camera that you can mount anywhere on the car is a huge advantage when shooting fast action car scenes. I literally got goosebumps when I saw the results of the Osmo Pocket 3, sound design was sick! 🔥
same here. honestly.
same!!
As a two year Full Time Filmmaker student, these videos are the gift that keeps on giving! Thanks to you all ❤
We need more beginner vs pro series these are lit 🔥🔥
Yessss
Definitely!
I can definitely be the next beginner 😅😅
@@ozielmelendez Lets go ⚡️
Megan's facial expressions while Landon's cut was playing pretty much sums up my reaction too.
he gave the filmmaker rizz
Dude, his edit is insane. The sound design is really what takes it over the edge. Great job for both of them but DAMN! Landon. You killed it.
Landon spent most of the time driving that bugatti into the container, and i didn't expect his edit to be so complete, great job. Megan has kudos for the effort.
it goes to show, at the end of the day the video is in the mind. If you shoot to edit, it doesn’t matter what’s in your tool belt.
I love that she got more excited about the membership gift than the equipment, learning skills > gear. And Landon, incredible work! Got goosebumps
And this is exactly why Landon is the most creative director/editor in FTF. What I love about Landon's Edit/Video is that he had a story to it
I had the same reaction she did. Jaw dropped.. Such a powerful little camera!
I just love her energy. Also she used naturally perfect references and tried different angles. She definitely got potential!
I love how Megan had her hand over her mouth in amazement the entire time she was watching Landon's edit.
the Pocket 1 is still a beast of a little camera but DJI keeps adding refinements and added frills... excellent.
the pro sequence was mindblowing. there's just so much thought process that goes into a finished product that a hobbyist probably won't even be aware of.

Goes to show it’s not always about price of the gear it’s the person behind the gear that know what they’re doing 🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥
Kudos to Megan for going on the spot. This shows it's the artist, not the paint brush. Obviously the DJI Pocket 3 is incredible, but visuals are only a small part of a powerful video.

Quite a lot of things to learn from this video. I had to rewind Landon's one a few time, I loved it so much. What a journey!
As much as I hate to say it the one shot by the pro is on another level. So dramatic and impactful.
I don't know how RUclips algorithm led me to this video but I'm glad it did.
This is probably by far the best example of Exposition VS. Let the Picture do the talking.
This is master class. Bravo to both of you. You have my sup.
You don't judge a chef entirely by their tools, or in this case the camera.
Excited for my Osmo 3 to arrive.
Why was this uploaded in 1080p?
Literally just wondered the same then your comment came up lol
This girl is amazing. Such a cool personality.
That was probably the most insane car video I've ever seen. Where do you come up with these ideas. The creativity is amazing
I absolutely LOVE these "Pro vs Not Pro" people or equipment - youtube videos with the critiques and sharing results, etc. and you guys totally nail it! Awesome! Thank you, You've got a new subscriber!

This really shows how much you can push the pocket 3. AMAZING!!!!!
What a genuine reaction she had at the end! Loved it.
I think I´ll skip the Pockt3 and stick with my iphone + DJI OM6
these are my favorite kind of videos :)
This man immediately immersed me when his video started playing. Well done my friend, well done. You made me like video and editing even more with this.
When doing rollers with cars. A good idea would be to use radios. Or even just conference call on your phone.
Missing is the sound of the engine breaking at the end when the Bugatti drives into a puddle and a water hammer occurs.
I love her willingness to learn plus dude, who else wanted more of Londons shot...It was FIRE 🔥 🔥
Holy Sh*t 💩 I can’t be the only one who rewind the video multiple times just to see the DJI pocket three final product ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
There's no way!! This man need more subs!!!!
This was great to watch - the beginner said "I am speed" in the opening shot and the pro showed it.
Deffinitly Landon's shots are half of the work cause of the experience he's got. Loved to watch behind the scenes and see the final edits! :)
Maaaan ! The power of sound design just insane fr. Haven't seen anything yet and was directly appeal to see more of the car. I take a serious note of that. Very interesting !!
i'm a full time filmmaker (no pun intended) and i still felt how Megan looked while watching his edit! GOOD JOB!
It always comes down to the editing and sound design when it comes to action, as proven once again in this video. Props to Landon for being very nice in his critiques, editing is a tough job!
Hey you both did great! I watched it till the end. Much love and respect!
bro was being VERY nice...super GENEROUS with his critique of her edit
Game changer this product Pocket 3 ❣️❣️
The sound of the engine holds all clips together nicely.....no music needed!
More videos like this one please. What a great piece of content. So much to learn.
Storytelling is the key.
It's obvious Landon. Loved the way he was able to build tension
Me dejo con la boca abierta el PRO !! Uffff el audiooooo whowwww

I’m so glad you did this video - The timing couldn’t be better! I was considering the Pocket 2 and this just sold me on the Pocket 3 🙌🏼
$669 for camera and other parts you would be better buying iphone looking at pocket 2 on other videos the video looks really bad

You SERIOUSLY did all that just with the pocket 3??? Wooooow!! Better than any DJI commercial!
I’d love to see a full editing breakdown on Landon’s video. Absolute masterpiece
My absolute favourite type of content right now, please dont ever stop guys. Love from South Africa

🔥
FIRE!!! 🔥 Wow! Both were awesome. This actually made me get the DJI Osmo Pocket 3! Literally!
bro I got chills when I saw the 2nd edit holy moly!

Pine.
Redwood.
Larch.
Fir.
Cedar.
And: Douglas fir is classified as softwood
