They should have sold the Cosmos Elite with the normal Cosmos face plate and 2.0 base-stations included, and make the controllers work for both inside-out and outside-in. Only after that the price will make sence.

Instead of a $730+taxes and shipping upgrade, two florescent shop lights for $30 is a better fix. Thank you for the great video.

As long as the tracking is good I should be fine I play vr chat mostly anyway. I used it once at an amusement park and it looked good to me and better than my q2 then. The compression on the quest 2 has just gotten so bad

the elite is about $550 for $150 less you can get the rift s which doesn't require base stations and has better controllers (more comfort and better dev support) depending on whether or not you already have base stations, you could also get an index for $450 more (at most) and get the best vr has to offer consumers right now

I bought the original oculus rift a bit after it came out but i stopped playing because i was having a lot of lagg and i hated the screendoor effect. I upgraded my graphics card to a RTX 2060 SUPER since then but that's hardly state of the art either and i think my processor might be the issue.

Don't give this company your money.
Personally I'd say either Oculus Rift S or Oculus Quest. They're both convenient, easy to use and hassle free (see the relevant videos on my channel). Too little too late. I own the original Vive. The real upgrade came last year with the Valve Index. The Vive Pro was way too expensive, for "only" 540€ (499$) I upgraded nearly a year ago.
From thier last update lots of pcs cant use it and get past the setup like me and they say it works with windows 7 8 and 10 but they emailed me saying it only supports windows 10 i tried almost everything to fix it possible but the cosmos elite seems better

4:45 No, there is a button inside next to the lenses that you push that removes the faceplate, it's a bit recessed so you don't accidentally push it.

Bought a vive cosmos (non elite) 2 days ago, playing in a standard computer room with blackout curtains and just the roofing light. Seems fine to me.

so basically with the newest updates the cosmos still sucks and one would need to shell out another 200-500 to get this working as it should be.

Just get a Rift S. Better controllers, no issues with differents room. I even played with that in front of huge mirrors with no issues.
