Hello, Im asking What do i have to do at the end of the day after using sea salt spray and the clay to add texture to my hair? Can i leave it till the next day or will that be damaging. And if it is damaging then what do i have to do, especially if i dont shower my hair everyday.

I've got mad flat hair, straight, has always been very hard to style in the messy way I've wanted to. Have used sea salt spray and powder in the past from some of the more mainstream brands but always find it really hard to get a proper textured look. Ordered from Poseidon and the stuff is genuinely incredible. Was a bit skeptical at first as you'd always assume the popular brands are the way to go, but the chalk is a different gravy. Haven't used the clay yet but I feel like the spray and powder are enough personally, though my hair is a bit shorter than Gavin's in the video so probably doesn't need as much to be held in place. Will buy again, for sure.

Great video will give it a try. I do wash my hair every morning so it's light af so when the wind gets to it (in Ireland is always) it just fucks it up.
Try cutting down to only washing every 2nd or 3rd day. If you wash your hair every day it strips your hair of natural oils which could be causing that lightness
you can use cornstarch in sub for texture powder as it is healthy for the hair, creates volume and texture as well as adding some softness to the hair (and yes i have 1a hair and it makes my hair to 2a-b when i combine sea salt spray, pomade and cornstarch)
Bro we do the exact same but my hair isnt looking like that Edit: in the comments everyone recommended to shower with shampoo way less. I still shower every evening and wet my hair in the morning to do my hair. Now I use shampoo max 2 times a week and started using conditioner like 3-4 times a week. My hair looks way better now and it never gets oily, even when I dont have time and dont wash it for 2-3 days (I never go longer than that). Still I dont have the exact same hairstyle but close enough that I like it. Hope this helped anyone who also has the same problem!
try using higher quantities of the products bro. Also, play around with your hair as its drying. Use different hand movements to see what works best for your hair
@@gavinhefferon ok I'll try it. I already tried some more sprays with seasalt, which works better for me. But that texture and volume you have is insane. trying to get back to this, i’m asian and have extremely thick, pin needle straight hair but for like 2 years my hair was super lush and soft and fluffy. it’s finally starting to turn straight again and i just want it to be fluffy again :(
I’m an Asian barber of 10 years. The key is to remove weight. Your hairstylist is probably leaving too much length and the more your hair overlaps itself, it will create less movement and allow for less texture. Ideally, Asian hair wants to be its longest towards the external areas of the hairline for length perception and shorter moving towards the mid-points where the hair is trying to achieve that texture, so if referring to the top, the front should be the longest, the middle of the head should be shorter and textured out more to allow for more movement
Also behind using your flat iron to curl and add wave. The key for Asian hair is less hydration. There’s a fine line between hair that is too dry and too hydrated. Think black hair to Asian hair as a spectrum. Black hair needs more oils, Asian hair needs damn near none unless you have longer hair or it’s damaged from chemicals. Also, if changed your shampoo and conditioner that could be another factor. The idea is, you want your hair more towards the dry side of things. It’ll allow for more “fluff”. That way, when you style it and add product, it’ll allow for more play and less oils and weight.
Great tutorial! So what do you after you wake up? Some would like to wet their hair first and then style it. For some they just leave it as it is, and maybe put a bit of product in it. What do you recommend?
It may just be the product that i use, but i like to have a short messy style. However throughout the day it will just flatten. Or when my hair grows slightly, it will just be impossible to create a messy look :/
make sure your barber is adding as much texture as he can when he cuts your hair, you can also ask him for recommendations for better products to use. and as mentioned in the video, sea salt spray is the GOAT for textured hair, and you also want a wax with a better hold to keep the style throughout the whole day.
Same plus if i keep tying to give it some Volume i have to constantly slide my Fingers back through it and just by doing that i loose about 20 strains of Hair in the Front, it sucks. And when it does look nice it eventually falls flat again After 15 Minutes

How did it turn out
How do you keep this style of hair?
What do you ask for at the barber when cutting the sides?
Show them the video
I have naturally straight hair so will this take a while for my hair to look like that if this is my first time doing it
I have a low fade can I still do this method but I want my hair to be standing up not down.
Yo bro tysm my hair was only a bit wet from the front and I was struggling to style it good for the past weeks but now it looks fire. Thx bro
No worries g
Great vid! If i wanted your hairstyle what would i ask my barber for on the sides and top?
