Just wanted to highlight, but the production quality of this video is crazy high. Just soo good and fun to watch. Easily becoming my favourite watch channel.
Ah!!! That’s so good to hear ❤ Britt is working really hard on upping the production.
My favorite rectangular watch is the Casio calculator watch of course!
I love this video !
Been struggling to finally decide between a JLC Reverso, Cartier Tank or Santos but for gods sake i just love rectangular watches 🤩
Love this video!! I just purchased a large Cartier Santos blue dial for myself and a Tank Francaise for my wife for our 26th Anniversary.. We both love them so much!! Cartier is kicking butt in 2022
hi britt!! ur not wrong for saying santos is more iconic then a sub, when i got into watches i loved the sub so much but the more and more i got into watches the more love for the sub faded. in 2020 i got from my grandpa his cartier tank, i really fell in love with it i tought im into more chunky watches like the sub but this changed it. i have pretty small wrist so when i got to try santos medium i coudnt after that day stop thinking bout it like for months. two weeks ago after 2 years of hardworking nonstop i bought myself a santos medium for my bday and im soo happy with it always puts a smile my face when i look at it !! even my gf loves it and shes concidering to buy catrier panthere, shes new into watches and she fell in love also with cartier so much !
great video!! Thank you! i am btw 22 years old
Aah yes! Back to regular programing lol I love these videos. These videos will prove to be an essential source of information for anyone learning about watches.
I have the Santos and the Reverso. JLC deserves all the respect in the world, but the Cartier is just easier to love. It’s so versatile, it really is a one watch collection.
I am a HUGE fan of square/rectangular watches. There’s something eye-catching about them and stand out from the crowd. My “go to” is the Cartier Santos Medium. Never fails to make me smile
For me, the JLC Reverso is tops! Cartier Tank Cintree, Tank Americane, and Santos are next.
Another lady here in loveeeee with Santos de Cartier ! Love my husband’s and I want one for myself😊 also, the tank, it’s such a classic ❤
Seems like your editing just gets better with each video. Keep up the great work! 👍 👏
I saved all summer to buy a tank and I am in love with it!!
Although it's a cushion case, the best one IMO is the Vacheron Constantine Historiques American 1921. The 36mm one.
Love that, especially in white gold.
JLC reverso makes me feel a certain way. I bought my mom a seiko that looks like a cartier tank for her birthday! She loves cartier but I cant afford a cartier for my mom just yet!!! One day!!!!
Good on you! One day, you’ll be able to buy your mom a Cartier ☺️
I nearly mentioned the Seiko Tank!!! Jenni Elle has one too!
@@joyLoveC thank you I sure hope so :))))
@@BrittPearceWatches you should’ve!!!! They’re absolutely fantastic! My mom loves hers and for around 250 bucks you really cant go wrong! Its got 50m water resistance which is pretty good!! Also Britt! Check your dms on instagram I messaged you lol I wanna talk watches with you 😂!!!!
I can’t get over how beautiful the new Tank F is.
Thanks for showcasing square/ rectangle watches.
I gave my wife my Omega Deville X2 a cracking square watch.......Great video, many thanks.
I appreciate this content very much and it is original. Got enuff stories about Explorers already.
This video really reminds me why I love this channel!💙💙💙
I’m a die hard Rolex collector. I’m in fact the third generation of my family to do so.
But I absolutely have respect for the Cartier Santos and pretty much all their catalogue! Whilst it’s definitely a unisex watch (and a sports one, no doubt) I think it may very well be the best womens’ watch on the market. The aesthetics are perfect, let alone that bracket that doesn’t need a screwdriver to adjust!
There’s only one downside: Richmont. The problems Cartier have are the problems all other subsidiaries have with them, not least of all that “manufacture” calibre. It’s a Valgine movement and shouldn’t be stated as anything but. If that’s not the case then why is it in the VC fifty-six?
The exact same of the above can be said about JLC and the reverso! I _love_ their history and I think I’ve convinced my aunt to get a duotime reverso! I’m just sad that their history isn’t being put to better use with the centuries of movement design they have. Hell the Nautilus, Royal Oak and Overseas all used JLC 970 ebauche at one point. And now they’re reduced to Lange stealing ideas from them against their will.
Amazing vid as ever Britt. If I didn’t have ADHD I’d be a Patreon by now (I gotta sort that!). Glad you gave some rectangular watches some shine (the only acceptable watch to wear at a black tie event)
My wife hates square watches with a passion but I love them. Maybe that's why I only have 2 and they are both Tissot. One is a vintage 60 34 mm Visodate, the other is a 1920s vintage long thing rectangular job. I think I need to look at that Longines....
Baume & Mercier Hamptons are worth mentioning too. Cool look, several models, very underrated.
Plus, maybe Oris Rectangular.
I love square watch especially my Cartier Santos. I’m saving up for a Cartier Tank
I own two Reverso watches, Grand Taille and the blue Tribute. Still looking at the Cartier Tank. Square watches almost always look good.
I love the Credor ref 6730-5080
extremely thin at 3.8mm, an elegant cushion style case, and affordable - i picked mine up for around $250
All very nice watches. I remember back in the 90’s everyone had a square watch and Nixson was a popular brand then
I love Cartier! I’ve had a Tank Must for about 35 years, got a Panthere recently, and now looking to get a Santos 😊
35 years?!?!😱😱😱 I respect this!!! This is going to be me and my Tank Solo! Also, I’m soooo tempted by the panthere! So dang elegant!
@@BrittPearceWatches Thank you! 😄
Reverso, Santos, Tank - all really great
Love the fact you but the Moser in. Stunning watch.
Santos owner here. I'm lucky enough to own a few luxury watches and it's my favorite. More sporty than it has any right to be. Great bracelet tech and a thin case as well.
I’ve got a soft spot for the Santos too!! I wear mine probably 5 days a week 🙈
not sure if anyone else mentioned, but Lang & Heyne Georg should at least get a mention given how beautiful the movement is. Great content as usual Britt, thanks
I mentioned this but she’s holding it out for pt2. My fave square watch, absolutely beautiful.
I’ll be there much sooner for the Part Two!
Even though many of these have been presented by other channels, this is the first time I have seen such dedication to this style, and, I do believe I learned something new about each one!
Whaaat! Thank you so much! I already have so many watches I want to highlight for the part 2 🙈🙈
Santos is really growing on me. Great watch.
Most guys gravitate towards the Reverso, but I prefer the Santos and Tank. They have a cleaner and classier look IMO
Cartier, JLC what’s not to love ❤ awesome video
Great topic! I have a NOMOS Tetra that I enjoy wearing from time to time. Not my go to watch, but definitely one of my favorites.
The Cartier Tank are on my wishlist and i abosolutly love the square watch love you so much WG
Oh bless you. I always love your comments! Gotta love a square watch. I have an irrational love of them! 🙈💕💕💕
@@BrittPearceWatches yes Can i send you my postal adress via Instagram for if its possible to send me a signed copy of the Book of Common Prayers
Britt, I'm sorry you felt you needed to pull down the video about the theft. Not sure why anyone would give you a hard time about that. I hope Journe reached out and did something cool for you. PS. Love the Dumont--my next watch!
JLC 💪 I own a duoface for 2 years now. JLC has increased there price twice in less than 2 years. The retail price sores from expensive to irrational. Above 10K is a psychological treshold. I won't be able to afford one now.
Purchased my wife a medium-size Santos with a blue dial. It is unbelievably stunning to look at. I might just buy a large version (blue dial) for myself. It looks as good as any watch I know of.
Hi Brittany!
Please don’t forget to mention the Baume & Mercier Hampton on part two!
Best regards,
Claus
Great video, hope you and your hubby are getting better after the watch robbery, big hugs to you both
Just bought a Santos De Cartier ADLC bezel. In love with this watch! Never thought about Cartier until they surpassed Omega. You content is very witty and down to earth and not the typical watch geek fair. Keep it up.
Very nice round up. None of the watches in the video is out of place... and thats saying something
For a larger wrist the Jlc squadra reverso is a good option
Keep the videos coming. Tried the Dolce Vita, with a light brown strap, really good looking watch
Agreed 💯% with the Santos. Love the blue dial one! You rock Brit! All best from Mexico City 👍
Absolutely agree about the Santos, probably my favourite rectangular watch. For it's also more of a sports watch on the steel bracelet. It's just the polished bezel is such a scratch magnet. If I had one the first scratch on it would kind of kill me.
The first cut is definitely the deepest.
Leave the plastic on it. No one can tell since it's transarent.
I did click on the video. I do appreciate squared and rectangular watches. I first had a Seiko quartz carriage watch for 27 years. A Seiko AD was surprised it worked that long. I have had several since then included JLC, Longines, Oris, Omega, Baume and Mercier, Tag Heuer, Movado, Tissot, Fossil, ESQ, and Bulova. They are hard to find for the low end and high end watches. Every case now is rounded and wears large on the wrist.
Great review. Britt! Love the variety in watch reviews! Appreciate that you touched on Nomos and Moser, in addition to the typical Cartier and JLC square-ish watches! Your reviews are awesome and we all look forward to them every week! 👍🏼
Oh this has made my day! 😭💕 thank you so so much!
I own a reverso and agrees that square watches feel so comfortable to wear. They don't get in the way of your wrist (when you bend your wrist upwards, if anyone knows what I mean) as much as some round watchs do and they really have some unique charm. They feel special to wear while they are actually versatile. I always disagree when someone says a reverso is a watch that can only be worn with formal attires. Reversos were born to be sports watches and they can definitely be worn casually.
The G-Shock GW-M5610 should be included on the pt2 video 😂
Love this video...do more of these!
I went from not really liking Cartier to purchasing 4 of them in the last couple years. The 1st was the Santos Dumont no. 14 bis. I was hooked from then on. I really wanted the new Santos Dumont Beige but was not approved for one.
I actually think many people ARE going to click on this video :) As usual, enjoyed a lot watching it!
At the expense of mansplaining, I had not heard about Cartier and the aviation watch. I had always been told that women wore wristwatches and men carried pocket watches until WWI. In the trenches it was impractical to use a pocket watch, so early mens wristwatches were actually small pocket watches that had strap lugs attached to them. Veterans got used to the convenience and kept wearing them after the war. I'm not saying I'm right, just passing along the story I heard. I have to agree about the Nomos. I just ordered a Plum Tetra and I am trying to locate a Grenadine as well. I love Nomos design and their playful approach to dial colors.
PART 2, Yes please
It’s needed!!
The Santos is one of my all-time favorite timepieces--in fact, it's probably the watch that made me fall in love with Cartier. I also love Brasil and my middle name is Santos, so there's that 😅.
Hi Britt , from Montreal !
I nearly bought a Santos a couple of months ago. Did not , was torn between Cartier and JLC .. Reverso will probably my next crazy spending….
I absolutely love my JLC Reverso Medium Duoface Small Seconds
I just loved this video. I have a santos dumont, tank, Maurice lacroix, citizen, I even have a replica Cartier Paris tank monopusher, I love square watches. I’m even considering buying a 24 mm square watch from Seiko, meant for women, but it’s a lot like a square royal oak…
That santos looks pure class. Tags looking great too 👍.
The Santos ADLC is one that has been on my radar. I enjoy tool/dive watches mostly and honestly I just like the fact that it’s bezel is black. It’s a nice contrast! The Diamond like coating is just a plus. They could’ve also just gone ceramic like so many other brands, which I’m cool with, but they didn’t. They decided to switch things up like only Cartier knows how to without changing the design of a piece that’s the start of men’s wrist watches. Iconic..
The Santos is looking good also. Thanks
Gotta love the Santos! 😍🔥
I have a 18K Rose Gold XL Santos de Cartier, and I love it very much!❤
I love it, I bought the Santos Dumont large full steel after your video on your two-tone :) Ordered an extra strap for it and I love the design so much
I absolutely love both the Cartier Santos And the JLC Reverso. I plan on purchasing one of these two watches in the next year or so, but still cannot decide. I have went back and forth many times with pros and cons and still can’t decide! Both amazing watches. I love the story behind the santos much better, I currently own the Omega Moonwatch sapphire sandwich and love it. So I love watches with a great story and heritage, so slightly leaning towards the santos, but we will see! Thanks for the video. I am somewhat new to your channel and love the videos; keep them coming!
I do love square timepieces. I own a JLC Reverso and would love to own a Santos, a Tank or a Must as well as a Monaco.
But I also own 5 Bell&Ross: their square military watches are also a must. And very sporty.
For sure I would love to see a second video for these watches.
Very well done Brit.
We are kindred spirits! I have such a weird thing for square and rectangular watches! 🙈💕 I’d love to own another tank! And a Santos de Cartier!
Definitely yes!!! 👍👍👍
a special little item is the Cartier Basculante, their version of the Reverso. great video. thanks.
I once bought a very cheap no name brand square watch... It had a really thick crystal... The crystal was really good...
I prefer the Cartier tank Must over the Santos Dumont. Just find the Dumont a bit too dressy and I wear my Tank with jeans and tennis shoes without it feeling awkward 😂
Love your B-Rolls and overall editing! I cannot decide if I love more the Tank or the Reverso...
Whaaaat thank you soo much! As for tank or Reverso… I am super biased. 😜 i chose the tank and I love it more. But my husband prefers the Reverso. Either way: there are no bad choices
The rectangular watch I currently keep in my collection is the Omega Constellation Ref 154.0002. It's vintage, it's in a pretty good collection, and it's chronometer-certified. Only for $500.
What a tremendous joy to see square and rectangle shaped watches featured! My favorite is the JLC Reverso. They have so many models and complications from which to choose. Please do a part 2 if you haven’t already!
We really have the same taste Britt 😍 you hit all my favorites, even the niche Rado pick! One affordable Tank alternative that I prefer over the Longines is the Oris Rectangular series - you can find them well under 2k, their colors are lovely and the proportions are excellent
You know, I’m kicking myself for not remembering the oris!! 🙈✨
I am with you gringa!!! I to like a square I don’t wear one yet but I am getting older and less tooly so 🤷♂️ who knows 😂
Great vid. I’m a huge fan of Cartier as well and yes, more so than Rolex. I recently acquired the Solarbeat Tank to pair up with my Santos. I definitely need a Santos Dumont in my collection one day. Also have a Reverso. I like the Tag Heuer Monaco but really need it to be less than the current 15 mm thickness. The chunkiness just prevents me from buying it
I love square and rectangular watches so much. I've never been a huge fan of round or oval watches but that's the most common shapes. Thanks so much for this video!
I think the Panthere deserves an honorary mention with the Santos. It's essentially the Santos but small and dainty.
Definitely agree the Cartier brand is definitely iconic and most of all a classy looking timepiece. I personally like the Cartier Santos PVC blue bezel with the blue dial. The rubber strap and the stainless steel classic bracelet make this watch feel like you have two different Santos version. Brittany, take a look at this one.
Oh I loooove the PVC blue bezel Santos!!! How did I not feature it?£?£ 😱✨
I liked that you put the Hermés H08 on this list. I'm waiting for the part 2 😀
*Hermès 😉
Own the JLC and the Rado.....LOVE SQUARE WATCHES....INTERESTED IN THE TETRA AND THE HERMES THANKS TO YOU...PART 2 YES
Oris Rectangular never gets a mention…. Compelling price point with great combination dressy and casual wearability
Somewhere down the line I will get a JLC Reverso. My collection (1 watch this far) is being built not only for me but as an heirloom for my children. I only have my daughter in mind whenever I think of the Cartier Santos Dumont.
Jlc Reverso is my favorite square watch. I don't own one, but if I did, I would get the black one with the plain stainless steel back, which is the sportiest model. The watch was originally meant to be a sport watch, so that's what it would be. ( Could even put it on a NATO strap)
Very well and smart chosen Watch content, particularly because i have the Cartier Tank on my list as next ….or JLC Reverso…🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Its Sunday….its Sunday…..its Britt Sunday 🎶 ( read with Patreon song voice) 😅🙏🏻. Theres no need in saying this again but I’ll say it…..you are the greatest RUclipsr Britt 🙏🏻. Thank you for another epic video with a bunch of epic watches 😎
😭💕 fernando! My heart cannot take how kind you are. Thank you soooo so much! I am soo glad you enjoyed this video!
HAHHAHA the patreon song. That’s gone down better than I thought it would 😂💕💕💕
TAG Heuer Monza is very nice.
For part two, I would also look at the Oris Rectangle.
I have a Reverso small seconds with the blue sunburst dial. I had JLC engrave it in memory of my late mother, so I guess it's the one true forever-piece in my collection. They make great dress-watches with a smart-casual edge, and are a classic of Art-deco design. I understand the King who abdicated back in the 1930s (uncle of Queen Elizabeth II) was going to wear one for his coronation - but I think it ended up in the JLC museum.
Wooooahhhh!!! No way! 😱 I had no idea about Edwards and the reverso!! 😱😱😱
@@BrittPearceWatches There's a Hodinkee article about it - with some interesting pictures of it. It was engraved on the back with his name and a royal crown. But I think he possibly never took delivery of it, because he abdicated.
@@BrittPearceWatches Love you From Medellín City, Colombia South America Here the Rich people uses invicta...just imagine our Economy here Cartier and rolex Just Narcos and polítics and Maluma ...you are the best keep going
I have to say that arguably one of the better more affordable rectangular watches would be the Longines Dolce Vita automatic, for those with smaller wrists I'd also suggest the Oris Rectangular. The more expensive options are all great but my personal preference would be the Reverso Duoface but I'd be more than happy with any of them.
Paul Thopey isn't happy with you and Jenni Elle 🤣 he introduced us to Elizabeth Grant channel. Because of your Rolex crash video. That being said you both have great channels you and Elizabeth. I will say this though she sounds a bit like your new style of videos commentary.🤣...the battle of the Meow🏃...Britt for the win Lol. Ps Reverso duo face blue dial and the new Santos line 🔥🔥
First wristwatch : Caroline Murat in the very early 1800s, not the Santos guy. And it was a Breguet. Very nice piece on your wrist. Yes I have a Reverso Shadow - I wear it on Christmas eve only, at the exclusion of any other watch. It is the rule. 😁
The square watch that has caught my eye recently is the Glashütte Original Seventies Panorama Date. Just such a cool vibe!
Oh MAN! Now THAT is an out of the ordinary watch isn’t it!
straton volante. just bought one and its great. affordable swiss automatic
Nice Gringa, love this stuff. Love to see more square/rectangular watches! Especially like the perennial Tank vs Reverso face-off. Both have so much history and look great. A fantastic collection can b put together focusing on just one or both.
Thanks as always Gringa!! Your vids are the most fun. And… Dressing casually with a Cartier is the epitome of tastefulness imho (tho I may have to draw the line at sweats!)😂
JLC Reverso all day....or maybe the Santos Dumont... I intend to buy one or the other in the next year, still not sure which!
Ps, hearing someone who isn't British say "twat" is always a treat 😂
Need some love for Bell & Ross BR03 and 01 in part 2. Also, maybe check out some of the vintage 70s "TV" cases on Seamasters, Longines, etc.
I loooove rectangular watches! I think they're so classy. I really like the Tank and the Reverso but they're too pricey for me. My go-to Tank-ish alternatives are from Rotary and Lanvin (preowned).
Hey there Britt, alway's love your content, really enjoyed this video, opened my eyes to square watches. they are so amazing hope to get the reverso someday. so cool. thanks so much for putting this together. Best wishes.
As an affordable alternative you could have mentioned Seiko rectangular watches. Available in quartz or solar. Very similar to the Tank and sizes ranging to fit male and female wrists. Keep up the good work with your videos.
Yes!!! Big miss on my part!
Bulova makes some square models too, one with a Frank Lloyd Wright design on it.
