Axl should've never let him go. I love what Buckethead brought to the band, what he brought to the shows...the nunchuk thing was awesome. He is obviously skilled at them both for show and combat. His guitar solos are out of this world. Literally. Intergalactic sounding.
He's better off performing on his own. Hard to stay anonymous in a band like that with all the touring, promotions, interview requests, photo shoots, etc etc etc. That's why he left Gun's and Rose's.
@@Vegatable Buckethead was indeed bored because Guns N' Roses at that time was in the worst shape ever in their history. They weren't having tours, album release was being delayed, etc. If he joined in 2006, he'd be having fun. There is a huge difference between your guitar ringing in the entire stadium vs in a small hall room.
Possibly the greatest guitarist that ever lived, Buckethead. He is so far removed from GNR in this solo. Good for him. He probably took this gig so he could play to huge audiences.
He joined when axl got him a rare leatherface doll, so I think bucket being in GnR was genuine and for the love of music. Not for exposure/a cash grab.
buckethead is a very talented guitarist hes got style in all different places. He's amazing at bass, hes got banjo style and metal style guitar playing
Bucketheads so enigmatic, so legendary, so mysterious, so amazing, so soulful... a fucking hero. it feels strange to say, but his music is so... descriptive...
Got damn that guy is amazing! Played the frickin' wheels off that guitar 🎸 down to the bare rims. No doubt, Bucket is just on a whole 'nother level. Very cool to see him incorporate his "Toy Time" giveaways into a Gun's and Rose's concert.
I remember being really excited and having hope for new GNR when Buckethead was in. I actually think chinese democracy was really good and under-appreciated. I wish Buckethead remained the sole lead guitarist.
then it would be a fight for the spotlight once more between axl and his lead guitar, thats why now axl put two to three average guitar players in the band
wowokey DJ Ashba is a beast guitar player. I wasn't a giant fan of Bumblefoot but he's pretty good too if you check his shit out. I don't think Axl intentionally tried to pick "average" players because that would ruin his band. I’m surprised at how crazy the crowd got when Buckethead was introduced. It seems like most GNR fans just hate him. I wish he got that kind of love more often
Buckethead and his num chucks! lmao and i love the way he dances! and HE'S ONE OF THE BEST GUITARISTS I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE! HE'S AMAZING! THANKS FOR POSTING MAN!
did u hear the part of big surmoon where it sounded like angels singing(4:11) wow that was again one of the greatest things ive ever heard from the greatest guitarist.
Gabriel Wisniewski While there is no "best" in something subjective as music, there is such a thing as technical ability, and Buckethead could play circles around Slash, if there were some form of competition.
Gabriel Wisniewski buckethead would shit down slash's throat. buckethead can play anything slash wrote. it would be comical to watch slash try to play bucketheads stuff.
He's so dam good it's friggin scary man! Watching this i forgot it was a GNR show to begin with,i was totally mezmorized by him!
technically yes but people love different guitarists for their style and buckethead and slash are 2 absolute legends but both equally as amazing due to their completely different styles. slash wrote some of the most groovy badass and iconic riffs and solos and buckethead is buckethead
I'm just getting into Buckethead, at first i was like what the f**k but after checking out more of his stuff im liking him, and could learn quite abit from him.

he was at musicians institute when he was 16 or something. i saw gilbert on g3 2 days ago, he played the same kind of repeating motif except with more of a melodic/arpeggiated approach. it was pretty sick
Too solve this once and for all; The guitar he uses is not a Gibson, Ibanez or Fender (I cant recall who posted the last one.). It's not a Gibson Flying V (check the headstock and volume/pickup selector.(The buttons).) It's an enlarged Jackson King-V. Buckethead wanted the guitar bigger. He said the standard ones looked like toys in his hands. And that's that! =)
This is the order of all the songs he plays: 1. Giant Robot theme 2. Tapping and shred technique 3. Star Wars themes 4. Slap bass guitar technique 5. The Ants Go Marching

i completely agree, eddie is my favo guitarist.. and it's extremely hard, if not impossible, to compare guitarists from two completely different playing styles. i love bucket and i'm not a big fan of slash but i have respect for him and what he's done for rock music.
@tuguinho Slash and Axle rose had a falling out years ago thats why Chinese Democracy was delayed for such a longggggg time and then when they finally did release it ...it didnt sell well because there was no commercials or anything pushing it..and bucket head is actually on the album
That fucking KFC flying V, is such an iconic guitar. I dont think that hes used it live since the early 00's. That single-cut les paul that he uses now just doesnt have the aesthetic. But a nice les paul does play great, dont blame him.
Accualy this is Big sur moon from the Colma album from 1998 and the echo song by Paul Gilbert is a song from 2003-2007, Im not sure what year but it is post 2003
It's a Jackson Y2KV version of King-V. (The Dave Mustaine signature model). It differs from other King-V's in that it has rounded edges, like the ones on Gibson's Flying V.
Axl's intro was pretty fucking cool. You can tell he really liked bucketheads style.

Despite what people think about him, based on his appearance, he seems like a really soft-hearted guy. I love that about him.
He used to go to the Disney world with Axl Rose lol
He gives out a bag of toys at his shows. He is truly one of a kind. Toys; nunchukas; robot dances; and out of this world guitar playing.
