  • 1926 foxtrot by legendary British bandleader, Jack Hylton.
"So is Your Old Lady", sung by Jack Hylton himself!
    HMV 5092 B
by Joe Burke, recorded June 18, 1926 (my thanks to jackpaynefan for this info)
I've made a custom audio to "home movie" type film taken at Jacks estate by Brit.Paathe, of Jack and his wife, and pet dogs! Also shows Jacks large expensive sedan, that may have been smashed up the following year 1927, when Jack was badly injured in an auto accident.
His first wife pictured, is bandleader Ennis Parkes (they separated in 1929)
Enjoy the ripping jazz-age Hylton sound of 1926!

Good to see that you upload British as well as American material.
This is most unusual and well matched. The beginning reminded me that Henry Hall copied this when his band serenaded him outside his house, "many happy returns of the day", (it is on You Tube). Well done on the extra sounds too, including the water splash!
Mrs Jack Hylton also recorded - in the mid '30's for the Crown label.
The vocalist here is Jack Hylton and was recorded on 18th June 1926.

Buonissimo , Jack Was The Best Band Leader From UK In The Roaring Twenties , The Metallic Sound From His Orchestra Is Unrepeatable Like The Spatial Sounds That Lyman Achieved With His Band

I also have been looking for the American version which I have to say from memory is superior but the Pathe film of 1920's country house life and the obvious amateur nature of the film is a delight. Thank you for posting. It has warmed me in a very cold Ukraine
