The thing about League is it's not just about mastering your champion of choice, but knowing and countering the enemy champion as well. That's why League is kinda bad for new players right now. So many champions to know, but people's attention span is getting shorter each year. I remember saying a long time ago that I prefer playing League over Dota because it's much easier.
I have played for 10 months and the first 3 only did draft/quickplay, but what helped the most is playing aram. Forces you to learn champs at the very least, which is great for new players.
league counters mean much less than dota counters. In league, you can spam your champ and get to plat easily. But in dota if you are spamming a champ, you will hard lose
It's this kind of mindset that makes league so hard for new players. You don't need to know any enemy champions. You just need to know yours and learn to CS. All that other nonsense comes much much later.
@@superbit415 I mean Ludwig got into a good amount of disadvantaged situations by not knowing champs. Farming against a seraphine jhin lane is very different from farming against a kaisa naut, and that's the rub for new players. They just don't know that getting hit with a jihn w after getting hit with a sera q means they are about to lose all their health to chain cc and burst even from a relatively far distance, so they aren't preemptively dodging it to make sure they don't get chunked out or even die from it. A new support is just going to go in when they can, not understanding that nilah can dodge leona stun after the root hits and then her and pyke dive and kill the adc for it since leona has no more cc to peal. You can't lane against champs you don't understand, cuz they will be avoiding your winning trade patterns and you won't know what to avoid from them. League (and most mobas in general) are almost more so knowledge checks than they are skill games early on. Skill matters obviously, but you only get to use skill when you pass all the knowledge checks of a given encounter, or you just end up misplaying without knowing it and dead or chunked before you can even play the fight
