So many times putting in d hot water all ginger taste will go . I keep my ginger as it is in d fridge in d bag and I keep bag little ope. More than a month now it's not spoiled very fresh till now

My parents are no more with us. When we were children mom used to prepare Alyachi dos. Dad used to bring tender ginger directly from the growers large quantity. We had tailor made forks which had thin needle like metal to prick the ginger. My mom never sliced the ginger. We had to prick it daily and she used to change the water for some days. Never used hot water. This alyachi dos would never spoil even if consumed for two years.
Nice to have some good memories of ur parents which keeps you going. Felt good to hear about ur experience of preparation of doss. Though it consumes time, its worth preparing. Stay connected
