Exultate Justi, or “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just” in English, is a sacred motet adapted from Psalm 33:1-3 in the Bible. It sings the praises of God for His righteousness with various musical instruments. In Hollaender’s interpretation, the grandeur is portrayed by the homophonic texture employed at both the beginning and end of the music, while the musical sounds played by various instruments such as the harp are depicted by the interweaving melodies (i.e., polyphonic texture) in the middle section of the piece.

Confitemini Domino in cithara, in psalterio decemcordarum, psallite ei.
Cantate ei canticum novum, bene psallite ei, in vociferatione.

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just; praise befits the upright.
Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.
