MUDHONEY
"If I think" Live in Berlin 1988
Mudhoney are releasing a DVD of their 1988 concert at Berlins Independent Days Festival. Live In Berlin, filmed by a professional camera crew, was Mudhoney's first ever performance on foreign soil, laying the essential groundwork for the 'grunge's' subsequent global domination. Here is an exclusive live track from the DVD.
Mudhoney: Live In Berlin, 1988 presents one of the greatest rock groups at their very best - a glorious mess of flailed hair, acidic caterwaul, gnarly riffage and fried guitar skronk as Mudhoney tear through material from their epochal (but then-unreleased) Superfuzz Bigmuff EP and eponymous debut album. The show's wild, thrilling, and funny-as-fuck, much like Mudhoney themselves. You'll wish you'd been there -- now, thanks to this Mudhoney: Live In Berlin, 1988, you almost can be.
With over 40 minutes of concert footage, the DVD also features an exclusive interview with Mudhoney front man Mark Arm, and liner notes written by renowned journalist Stevie Chick.
A testament to the enduring vitality of the independent music scene, the DVD release celebrates the 27th anniversary of !K7, a Berlin-based independent label and distributor with offices in New York and London, and an internationally renowned purveyor of electronic music in particular. In its early days, !K7 also served as a video production company run by label-owner Horst Weidenmüller, whose crew filmed a number of performances from that year's Berlin Independent Days festival. Weidenmüller recently rediscovered the Mudhoney footage, realising that he held in his hands a crucial rock 'n' roll document that had to be shared with the world.

You can clearly see where Kurt got his whole look and even how he played the guitar in the Bleach era
Mudhoney absolutely influenced Nirvana, just as the Pixies did, but I wouldn’t say Kurt got his look and style from Mark. I mean, Nirvana’s first album was recorded in ‘88 and came out in ‘89, and the two bands played/toured together as well. It seems like the “grunge” style sort of blossomed, in general, in the Pacific Northwest, though. Awesome performance here.
Matt Luckin, the bass player was Kurt Cobains roommate at Kurt's 1st house when they was like 16,17 yo
Everybody looked like this in the 80s.....
I think i know why they're both my favourite bands.
They should’ve won tons of Grammys this bands sooooo underrated they literally started the whole entire grunge genre
Homie no they didn’t there were plenty of bands before them (particularly Green River)
@@killerinstinctstudios9065 green river was mark and steve's band before mudhoney
I am so glad they never became mainstream! Made them so much more important as a band. Mudhoney is a unique band and they have a special flavor unlike other Seattle bands. Can't compare.
I think Green River came before. But upside is that eventually we got both Mudhoney and Mother Love Bone (and by extension, Pearl Jam) from their breakup.
@@killerinstinctstudios9065that was them and stone gossard
I saw them play this song in Portland. One of my favorite songs of all time. Would have loved to see them play this in the 80's in Berlin.
Could never understand Nirvana blowing up only 2 years after they were supporting Mudhoney! This song is so under-rated, as are this band!
My favourite performance of this song. Quite awesome.
Will always be my favorite Mudhoney song!!!
Just one of the bands that influenced Grunge (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc) in the 90's.
THE BEST EVER!
