I like the idea of the book and I like the way it looks. I'm just wondering is the story any good.

Looks great, thank you for the book & film. People here probably will also like (the idea of) Raymond Queneau's 'Cent mille milliard de poèmes' or 'One hundred thousand billion poems'.

@Smithpolly The story -- if that is what it is, perhaps dream or quilt of recollections is more appropriate -- is extraordinary. If you are familiar with Street of Crocodiles, your memory of that text will be part the experience of reading Tree of Codes. However, there was a moment part way through where I stopped thinking about this story's inarticulate-able relationship to Schulz and became fully absorbed in the compelling narrative that Foer managed to excavate.

Loved Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. I'm dubious about this one, but curious. It's almost $50 for this book...perhaps a trip to the library is in order.

If you are incapable of writing a compelling novel, you can always distort and deform a compelling novel. This is what Jonathan Safran Foer has taught us.

Is this book worth reading? Does it actually change the meaning of the street of crocodiles?

Joe Suglia, come back when you have written a compelling novel. Hack.

The concept is cool, really not a fan of the end aesthetic. Makes me uncomfortable looking at it.
