    It's great to see the garden at the end of the season. It's definitely the time when you decide what hasn't worked and what you want to change. I also took a lot of the plants in a few weeks ago to try and get them dried out a bit before the cold weather comes . Thanks for sharing, and I'm looking forward to how you change it. Oh, and I love a rambling video lol

      Thanks Diane. Normally I hate this time of year but this time I’m looking at it as a revamp. I’ve seen some great gardens this year and my head is full of ideas. Hopefully the winter doesn’t kill my spirit.
      Cheers.

      Thank you. Mixed comments on the Yellow wave but I think it’s definitely time for something new.

    Another great tour of your amazing garden. Love your plans and can’t wait to see the pond taking shape. I agree the yellow wave is in the wrong place!

      Thank you. I’m hoping the pond idea doesn’t get bigger than first planned. My head keeps coming up with some major changes. I need to rein it in a bit I think.
      Cheers.

    Sorry I like the yellow wave there, hanging over the lawn with the paths either side. I think a few more plants around the lawn over hanging the would soften the lawn edge. I love your garden though so beautiful 😊

      Thank you. I’ve debated moving the yellow wave for years now but I think I’m definitely going to move it now.
      Not sure if I will find a better spot or just pot it up for future plans.
      Cheers.

    Love your garden, it's very lush. I know what you mean about some plants not being nice enough to take centre stage. Any of us that grow these type of plants will always be moving things around, taking things out etc. There are so many stunning new plants on the horizon that we want to try. It's the beauty of gardening, it's never really finished!

    It’s been a great year seeing your garden mature and adding bits here & there. Will miss seeing it for a few months but 2025 sounds like a lot will be going on. I can’t remember if you have ever shown your greenhouse especially in winter to see how you pack everything in. Would make for a good video to get to see it

      Cheers. All being well Im hoping to replant lots of areas next year and the planning starts now.
      I have shown my greenhouse in a previous video but I will think about doing another one with my new plants.
      Many thanks.

      Cheers. I think the yellow wave will be moved but I really think that area will be improved for the better. I have lots of other plants looking for spaces to be planted in so hopefully it’s a change for the better.
      Many thanks.

      Hi. I liked the yellow wave there when it was smaller I just now feel I can get a better effect with other plants there. Time will tell. Cheers.

    I love your view from the grass. Of course, being a palm person myself, I love your windmills the best. So are you expecting a frost or freeze soon?

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi and thank you. We have a couple of days that are close to freezing but then it warms up again hopefully for a few more weeks. Only my most tender plants have come in.
      Cheers.

    My Manihot is smaller than yours but it's in the ground and it will remain there, with a bottle over and some fleece during the cold spells. Pray for me! 😜

      @tikitropicals65  2 месяца назад

      Hi. To be fair Manihot is pretty hardy. It’s just when they are smaller the may have more problems. Hopefully it’s a mild one.

    Great video, I have picked up a Begonia luxurians today, do you have any tips for these? I plan to keep it inside for the winter this year as its only small, thanks

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi. I keep mine in my frost free greenhouse and they do fine.
      In general if you need to keep it inside try to avoid areas with low humidity. they don’t really like central heating or dry air but otherwise frost free for me they are quite easy to get through winter.
      If the airs a bit dry you can mist them frequently.
      Cheers.

    How do you secure the fleece in the top of your tree ferns for winter to stop it from blowing away

    • @tikitropicals65
      @tikitropicals65  3 месяца назад

      Hi. Honestly I just screw the fleece into a ball and push it in the crown and it stays there. If I have to add extra protection I can wrap it around the top of the trunk and then I use stretchy bungee cords with hooks on for speed to hold that on.
      Cheers.
