He has a top 5 2 way starting all star PG, a top 5 PF, 2 of the best defensive centres of all time, one of - if not the best backup PG in the league, one of the best 3 and D SGs in the league... His teammates are literally the best you could imagine on an NBA roster around him...

    after seeing both kawhi and kobe. i can say that out of the two kawhi is the closest being to jordan. not championship wise but being wise. kobe had all of jordan move but he could not be proficient enough with it shooting around 43 to 45% for his hole career. while kawhi may not have as many championships as kobe but his proficient at both end of the floor really remind me of jordan. not saying that kobe was not a good defender. he was but his defense does not remind me of jordan. maybe because kobe like to gamble a lot on defense hence why i dont see jordan blue print in it but kawhi does not waste movements and is really smart were he pick his shooting spots and attacking the rim none stop just like jordan did in his hay days.

    • @MongoSlade84
      @MongoSlade84 5 лет назад +20

      Yo I totally agree. I was thinking that while watching Kawhi play. He is just so low key but like you said, he doesn't waste anything not even pointless statements or antics. He is pure basketball in my eyes.
      I just thought of this. I don't think he is like Jordan but that he is channeling that same mindstate and excellence gameplay wise. Its a certain type of energy that Kobe was able to channel but he couldn't quite harmonize it perfectly. Kawhi is the closest right now to that, with his court leadership and demeanor.

    • @at1212b
      @at1212b 5 лет назад +25

      Nailed it. Phil Jackson said the same thing about Kobe regarding efficiency and that he had to shoot himself back into a rythm. A 2 dimensional player. Kawhi actually evolved right in front of our eyes to be that patient passer, having and empowering trust in his teammates. And impacting the game in other ways like the way MJ did. Hitting the shot at the right moment, rebound, stripping the ball. Not feeling panicked in trying to dominate. All the old school players are looking at Kawhi like "yea, this is one of the only guys who could have played in our era and dominate. Physical, strong, no complaining about a hard hit that doesn't get called, and shoot lights out".

      that's why he's my favorite, his game is a tribute to 90's era which i love the most. it's harder to defend now (no touch era), but this guy still does and does it cleanly. his passing game is almost elite level now too, which will make him more complete coz he draws a lot of defenders unto him. hope he stays healthy, really love seeing him more on court, very well deserved comeback and win over the warriors. no matter what excuses gsw/media throws this series, kawhi and his team deserved the chip.

    You know what, I have got ro say that I have never had more respect for any athlete in recent recent history than I have for this man right here. He did what was best for him long term against what everyone (and I do mean everyone) said. He didn't say anything. He challenged his team to trade him. They did. Went to Toronto and let his play do the talking while saying pretty much nothing. Play offs come. Each round talking heads aren't picking them. They go though team. He says nothing. He doesn't even ask who next, he just laces 'em up and shows up. Finals come around dude (and his team) go through GSW when every few (if any, including me) thought that they had a chance. He still says nothing; until the end. NBA Champs and MVP. Whether you like him or not you have to respect him. Because of his play, his demeanor (Ice cold), and his competitiveness, think that I have a new favorite player. Congrat Bro!!!

    Great video, really puts you in the moment. Unbelievable journey this athlete took us on in only 1 season in his team debut. I underestimated him a lil in the beginning & not happy losing Derozen. Lebron James was the Raptors ceiling & now it feels like a Lebron/Jordan clone is on my hometown team...what a sensational country wide performance from a humble heart that just wants to hoop😉

    At the age of 28, he won his first champion as apprently being the alpha dog in the team. He has been extremely efficiently, a true two way-player, clutch when push comes to shove. He reminds me of MJ. I haven't seen any player being able to do what Kawhi is capable of.

    This is one of the greatest video compilations or "stories" I've ever seen online. It was very "Kawhi" like, and by that I mean that it took its time, yet burst on you when the moment was right. I got sucked in. Superb pacing and editing. The music background was right on point, and the snippets of silence with just shots of the City or Kawhi himself in quiet moments added to the story beautifully. I literally had goosebumps watching this, and it took me probably 15 to 20 minutes to watch it, as I was constantly stopping to catch my breath in awe over some of the plays Kawhi made last year. Kudos to you, sir, for a brilliant "mini movie".

    You know what I'm not happy he left, however he brought us a championship, mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. He also left a lot of money on the table to satisfy his own desires professionally and personally. The fact that it's not all about money for him shows his character and that's a rarity in the "It's all 'bout me" attitude that is prevalent in today's NBA. When the Raps aren't playing against him, I'll cheer for him and wish him well.

    NBA lore will tell of one surname: Leonard. A mysterious purveyor of basketball excellence, whose coy demeanor has flummoxed; as well as draw in, onlookers and opposition alike. Very few can keep their soul deep within the abyss and prove that it doesn't take an inferno to demonstrate true power burning within. Shouldering the pain from loss can lead you to a kind of strength you may have never thought possible. Karma and legends from days past smile down on the worthy. Dynasties lay broken and scattered in the wake of challengers seeking to restore balance.

      @@rigobatiancila5824 they dethroned GSW, the raptors would have one in 5 if not for KD's sacrifice, KD might not resign and Steph will take a lot of wear and tear playing a whole season alone, by the time Klay and KD comes back (if he resigns) Steph and draymond may have injuries. To be honest, he is still playing as if he is a part of Pop's system; taking good shots, taking the ball down to the rim, having great efficiency in offensive side, and putting everything in defensive side. It wouldn't be wrong to say Pop passed the torch to Kawhi.
