Idk if I ever commented to let you know, but I discovered your channel last year and was inspired to buy the paints and what I need to start up myself, and to this day every painting that I was happy with has sold, every single one. Thank you so much for your channel and for your inspiration! I would love to know what gloves you use that work best for the star technique. I am tired of having to scrub my hands for hours after, and any gloves I have bought to not seem to work the way I want.
@@bulldurham2465 that sounds like a good idea, but doesn’t solve the issue of having paint all over my bare hands. Also, I imagine that would be much harder to control the outcome of the star placement, I have m easy time using my fingers getting the stars right where I want them
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I mainly paint with acrylics, and I'm working on a piece using Liquitex spray paint and acrylic heavy body paint. Until the cold set in, I was dabbling with spray paint to see what I can do. Hey, ya just never know until you try. Your video helped me understand more. When the weather warms and I can go out on the porch I will come back to working with the spray more. Thanks again. Your work is astonishing.
Hey man I just want to say thank you! I started watching your videos about a year ago and you helped me out a lot with my art especially the cheap paint tricks. Best 97 cents I ever spent. Just an addition to the cheap canvas, they get holes or tear really easy. I had two leaning up against another and the corner of one pierced the other canvas. You are awesome I look forward to more videos!!
Thank you so much for that information I really learned a lot from your videos my question is after you put a clear coat what do you gloss it with I've been doing it now for about a month and I'm just trying to figure out what to gloss it with you're awesome by the way love your art
You did an excellent job thanks for walkin me through this!! Im wanting to start but didn’t wanna spend $150 on paint and not like it lol. This way i can use rustol and Walmart brand with similar results
I recommend mtn water-based spray paint for canvas work. It's less toxic and safe to work with indoors. I'm also willing go on a limb and say it's not as damaging to the canvas as using conventional spray-paint like rusto or krylon. I'm using some right now so I'll let you guys know in a year or so how it holds up lol you can find this stuff at graffiti shops if you don't want to pay shipping. FYI to anyone out there that doesn't know... Mtn spraypaints are European and take a male cap, which there are way more of (fat caps, skinny caps, splatter caps, etc...) than American style female caps. I find the European companies to be more friendly to artists and worth looking into.
thank you for explaining things better. most dont or wont give details. im starting out, and it looks easy but when i try to start i get overwhelmed and forget what i seen. im trying to learn steps so i wont go to fast or mess up. keep up the videos, yours are helping me out alot. i see your from va. im from southern wv
Thank you so much this video has been the most helpful I've found definitely going to try the free caps from russ I really appreciate that tip I will be definitely subscribing 👍👍
Hi, do you have a video of the tools you use to scrape designs into the paint? Im not sure what they're called, and how do you prepare paintings for sale such as wrapping and shipping them for preservation?
Really like all you do man. It's awesome. You make scratching look so easy. I can't get it. My contours don't look right. Maybe a video on scratching and techniques. Thanks for sharing your secretes. I like to follow along bc I have no creativity but your videos move pretty fast. Understandably. Keep on spraying man, your one of the best I've seen.
handyman superdad handyman superdad Much appreciated and thank you for watching. That’s one of the harder things to get down on honestly. They key is letting the paint dry some before you do it and I definitely prefer Candice over posterboard. The scratching technique to me just works better. But yeah in the next month or so I will put a video out showing closely how I do the stretching technique. Stay tuned!
Thanks Markus for the informative video, I remember asking you the question about canvas probably a year ago and I did come across that cheap canvas point you talked about, where the paint starts to crack. After that I went looking for better quality canvas, thanks for the tips!
Many thanks for the tips. Many techniques to learn but easy to apply. Anyone can do these if i can. Two easy planet paintings and already getting ooohs ans ahhs.LOL.
I really appreciate this video, very informative. I struggle to find caps that don't over-spray paint, it is my main problem, I end up with too much paint on my painting and it can botch up the details considerably, i.e. like at 6:50 no way I could make such a paint layer so "light" with the caps I've found so far, it always spray too much, it really is difficult to make such details. And i can't really find sprays that seem to fit my cans and work like the ones you show. Another thing that i struggle to find is actual, "transparent" paint, i never really found i think, i use instead Lacquer which provides a very nice shiny, transparent, glossy look to my paintings that I really like and it seems not to tarnish the look of the painting over time, i also use it with the fire technique and even on other hobbies i have like wood working projects so its kinda universal! Cheers and thank you for taking the time to make the video.

Sara Katrin Walstad Haraldsen you don’t have plates in Norway? What do you eat on? Haha.. just kidding. You can literally use anything you can find that’s round in shape that has a sharp edge. I use platter trays and lids, plates, old CDs... etc

You spray paint on the glossy side only. No sanding !! After your painting has dried then you spray it with clear gloss to seal and add shine and protection.
