Hi Rhinos, Glad to hear you found the video helpful and Thank you so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback I really appreciate it :)
Nice definitive example of the differences between the two methods. I agree that sometimes the dark side can be slightly "backlit", depending on what you actually want. I like the "dry" method best, for making planets. If you want to back-light the dark side of the planet, then do it deliberately. Very nice. Both planets look great - better than I thought they would be, in the beginning. Very talented painter/illustrator, you are. I agree that patience is the key to better work.
Hi Värmod, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave these kind words, the comment, and the feedback I really do appreciate it Thank you again :) Yes, Patience is the key :) :)

Hi Jon from France, Love your paintings and thanks for your tutorials... i'm gonna to Begin very soon a painting in your style, i'm a beginner, never try to do a " spray painting "; i'm in trouble to find in France a clear gloss to re - wet the painting, all i find like gloss clear is varnish and i think it is not good: Can you Say to me what to buy to re wet the painting. Thank you so much , i'm glad you like my tutorials :) also thanks for the question , no i don't use the original montana gold caps i use skinny caps mostly , but i do buy other caps to see how/if they work well with the montana gold , hope this helps :)
Hi Daniel, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback it's much appreciated :) The ring around the planet when the stencil comes off ?
Jon Barber Art yes. In a way, it makes the planet looks like it’s coming to life. I myself am starting painting and struggle with the ring but I always seem to make it work in one way or another.
Gotta start watching your tutorials now, since I build Cigar Box Guitars (started 3 months ago), and I REALLY think this kind of art would be KILLER on them! Sure I can hydro dip, I can print and apply graphics on stuff, and I'm not too bad at hand brushing some things (plus I've been an automotive collision tech for 43 years so I have been around paints and know how to paint stuff). But THIS is TRUE art! Can't wait to learn more! :)
Hi Ronald, Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback I really appreciate it :) I hope you will enjoy and find my tutorials helpful when you start watching them :) Cool i would love to give hydro dipping a go at some point, looks a cool thing to do :)
Hi. I'm new in spray art. I don't know how to control spray color. Would you please tell me how can I control spray color and also about draw shining star? Thanks in advance.
Hi Dr.Mahbuba, Thank you very much for watching, and for taking the time to leave this comment and question, I really appreciate it :) I have a full tutorial on my channel for making shining stars where i show you and talk thought each stage of the process :) For can control its down to how much pressure you put on the cap and also the more you practice with the cans the more you will get use to how they work and spray and your can control should get better at the same time :)
Hi Valeriee, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes i use a canvas some times to paint on and i also use glossy paper/card to paint on as well :) It's also nice to hear you love my videos :) :)
What kind of paper and paint are you using. I tried to make a few but they look like crap but getting better. I've notice the quality of the paint is making a difference. I used Sketch-up paper,. I really don't know what works best. Thanks
Hi Elmoe, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) Yes you can do this with any type of spray paint, And for the paper you want to use something like glossy card or something with a coat on it, as regular paper will just soak the paint up as you spray on too it. Hope this helps :)
I just recently saw one of your videos for the first time, a couple days ago. And they're amazingly awesome! And the way you explain, share and show your techniques has made me want to give it a try! I'm not by no means some amazing painter or anything like that, but figured if I can paint with a paint brush and acrylics than surly my artistic imagination and brush paint abilities can handle doing something of this degree 🤷♀️🤷♀️ We'll see 🤷♀️🤷♀️ lol. I've also just become a follower/subscriber to your channel as well! Thanks for your talent and your thorough explanations 🫶 Much appreciated 🫶
Hi Bianca, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave these kind words, the comment, feedback and the question I really appreciate it :) I have a full tutorial on my channel where i explain how to make different stars , watching that will help you out with making stars, hope it helps :)
Hi D-Evil, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) I have never tired using enamel paint to paint with so i'm not sure what it would be like to paint with, but i suppose it could work :) I may have a look at getting a few cans myself to see how well it can work :) :) sorry i couldn't be more helpful.
@@JonBarberArt by the way: you're using gloss sprays or mat? (have serious problems with finding appropriate spray paint xD tried with enamel 'champion spray' and then synthetic 'deco color' with shitty results xO I've heard that the best are montana spray, but before this I will try also acrylic but a bit cheaper 'prisma color':)
Hi D-evil, Thank you for the questions , I use gloss paint which is synthetic and i also use semi-gloss paint which is acrylic and i find they both work really well, I use montana because i like using them, other people use other brands because they like using them, it really up to you to which brand you use if you like a said brand and enjoy using it then use the one you like :) i hope this makes sense ( I'm going to be trying out some different brands in some future videos to see what others are like to paint with) :)
What kind of type of spray paint and brand do you recommend, and any techniques to try? I gave it two tries this morning and had issues with trying to texture it because it was more or less just pools of paint on top of each other and didnt go as well as id have liked.
I honestly dont understand how you dont have 1000k subs man youre vids explain WAY better than others'. this video can be summed up to what you say nearly every video: Dont rush the process, enjoy it!
Hi Colin, Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave this awesome comment and great feedback i really appreciate it :) Yes why rush something you enjoy doing :) :)
Hi Arsen, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) The can of clear coat i used was from the Montana range hope this helps :)
What paper do you use? I'm using card stock but I'm wondering if your using a paper with a glossy finish or not? As mine isn't a glossy paper and soaks the paint up.
Hi Gunnerchick, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes i'm using a glossy paper to paint on as normal paper/card will just soak up the paint, hope this helps :)
Hi Huzaifah, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes you should be able to do this on plastic, i would use a plastic primer before i paint it tho, I haven't painted a keyboard (yet) so not really sure how the final outcome would be, If you do give it a go i would love to know how it turned out :)
Hi David, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and the question I really appreciate it :) I use spray paint from the Montana range, hope this helps :)
Hi, Hi Boi, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and the question I really appreciate it :) The brand of paint i use is montana, but when i first started and was trying out spray paint art, i used some cheap paint that i had from years ago and it worked good for just learning :) hope this helps.
Hi Wu-Tang Batman, Sorry for the late response, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question, I really appreciate it :) The spray paint i'm using is from the montana range, hope this helps.

The white ring around the wet one is actually pretty realistic, planets in space that have atmospheres would actually have that rings around it
Hi Javonzell, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback I really appreciate it :) Yes sometimes it turns out good with the ring from the lid and sometimes it doesn't, It's a bit hit and miss :)

I think soo too it makes it seem apart of the painting in my opinion the dry one looks kinda 3d like its not supposed to be there
Makes it look like there light coming from the other side
On camera it looks fine in person it almost always looks really bad
left looks better

As always, love the tutorials. I was wondering if you use the original montana gold caps or a skinny cap for finer detail? Thanks!
Thank you so much , i'm glad you like my tutorials :) also thanks for the question , no i don't use the original montana gold caps i use skinny caps mostly , but i do buy other caps to see how/if they work well with the montana gold , hope this helps :)

I love how the ring looks, to be honest. Awesome tutorial.
@@Dannyboy12363 you could see it as light escaping from the sides I guess anyways either one looks stunning.
Amazing drawing
Thank you so much for the feedback it's very appreciated :)
Thank you bruh ❤
Awesome
Hi Zofoblues, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and the feedback i really appreciate it :)
Thank you 🥰
No Problem Dr.Mahbula, happy to help :)
Hello jon I love your videos btw! But I will like to ask do you use a canvas to spray paint on?
Hi Valeriee, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes i use a canvas some times to paint on and i also use glossy paper/card to paint on as well :) It's also nice to hear you love my videos :) :)
What kind of paper and paint are you using. I tried to make a few but they look like crap but getting better. I've notice the quality of the paint is making a difference. I used Sketch-up paper,. I really don't know what works best. Thanks
I'm super late but can you do this on regular paper or do you need something special? Also can I do this with cheaper spray paint
Thanks for your talent and your thorough explanations 🫶
Much appreciated 🫶
how do make the stars with the flick. I made that planet with ring on it .
all that pretty good Tutorial that you done.
Hi Bianca, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave these kind words, the comment, feedback and the question I really appreciate it :) I have a full tutorial on my channel where i explain how to make different stars , watching that will help you out with making stars, hope it helps :)
great tutorial. I see you're painting by acrylic spray, but what about an enamel paint - could it be used to make that kind of pictures?
Hi D-Evil, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) I have never tired using enamel paint to paint with so i'm not sure what it would be like to paint with, but i suppose it could work :) I may have a look at getting a few cans myself to see how well it can work :) :) sorry i couldn't be more helpful.
@@JonBarberArt 👍👍👍
@@JonBarberArt by the way: you're using gloss sprays or mat?
(have serious problems with finding appropriate spray paint xD
tried with enamel 'champion spray' and then synthetic 'deco color' with shitty results xO
I've heard that the best are montana spray, but before this I will try also acrylic but a bit cheaper 'prisma color':)
1000k lmao
What is that one special spray can you are using in order to clear coat the paint?
Hi Arsen, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) The can of clear coat i used was from the Montana range hope this helps :)
What paper do you use? I'm using card stock but I'm wondering if your using a paper with a glossy finish or not? As mine isn't a glossy paper and soaks the paint up.
Hi Gunnerchick, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes i'm using a glossy paper to paint on as normal paper/card will just soak up the paint, hope this helps :)
hi can i do this on plastic like my keyboard? after i sand it and spray the plastic primer
@@JonBarberArt alright will do thank you so much btw
What brand of paint is used? I'm just a newbie. I'm using basic hardware store spray paints.
Hi David, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and the question I really appreciate it :) I use spray paint from the Montana range, hope this helps :)
what brand of spray paint do you use I love the art and want to try some myself but never get the right spray paint
@@JonBarberArt thanks you so much
