The problem with government local and central is that too many people don’t contribute more than they take out. As tax cuts to the bottom end and more benefits have been paid out it’s unbalanced. When the coalition government increased the taxable allowance from the 6k it was in 2016 and it quickly got to 12k. This is great for low paid and even middle paid it cost a lot to implement. Adding in work benefits cost a fortune, substantially more than new labour expected. Large amounts of new arrivals are consuming more benefits than they are contributing. The country is in real trouble and Labour is not going to solve it.
