    Just to say, that a "hurt" pulley is no where even close to breaking a leg before the Boston marathon. The fact that he climbed through it is pretty evident of that in itself. Like some guy with a broken leg in the Boston marathon just finishes the event at all, let alone run a few miles would be superhuman. This is a nitpicky comment, but so many climbing comparisons to other sports are usually super off. It's annoying, and simultaneously plays down the difficulties of running and climbing because it wrecks the scale for comparison.

    • @AlbertOkay
      @AlbertOkay  4 года назад +43

      Hey Connor - I replied to a similar comment and I definitely agree that I should have made a better comparison. I'll work on wording in future videos. Definitely don't want to downplay other sports as I personally was a long distance runner and track runner for some years so I personally know how difficult both disciplines can be.
      Thanks for the feedback though!

    • @sazam1966
      @sazam1966 4 года назад

      I definitely see climbing like a kind of vertical dance.
      There are these moments when you just "feel it", you almost disconnect your mind from the surrounding, and it is just you with the wall, and not you against it. Like a kind of trance. It's in these moments i feel climbing is an art, because you can freely express yourself through your way of moving on the wall. I find it beautiful.

    Btw, “millimeter, maybe even nanometer” is a little bit ridiculous. The difference between a millimeter and a nanometer is the difference between a mile and a 16th of an inch. A hair is 100,000 nanometers across. A single nerve ending in his foot is around 500,000 nanometers across.

      @singsongduo 4 года назад +2

      MrSato he said “if you’re not ouiji boarding immediately “ which I believe is referring to his songwriting process. How he sings the lyrics as soon as they come to him.

    • @nzd3742
      @nzd3742 4 года назад +1

      @@singsongduo Yes, I took this to mean that he'd be channeling his inner psyche to produce his lyrics, as opposed to anything necessarily supernatural (which is how ouiji boards are often thought about). Rather like using his guitar as his conduit (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conduit_(channeling).

    • @AlbertOkay
      @AlbertOkay  4 года назад

      I had just been able to watch him climb and climb on the same problems he was working on right before his qualification in Toulouse so I had the most insight possible from that experience. I also was able to shadow him a bit and really understand him as a person. Considering he is one of the 20 climbers that have or will be qualified for the Olympics I'd 100% consider him (in the combined format) a top 20 climber in the world. I've climbed with other high level climbers as well so watch out for other athletes being featured in these types of videos...and at the end of the day I just make videos on topics I like!
