      Too busy on their zombie phones !

    • @wolf2179
      @wolf2179 11 месяцев назад +18

      to give you some perspective some of the reasons they don't immediately attempt to stop them is because sometimes they are waiting for backup so when they do stop them they have more officers to aide in the event there is multiple occupants or the occupants decide they are going to run on foot or if they are armed etc. So the compromise is a bit more time to stop them in exchange for better safety for themselves when the chase comes to a stop. It isn't always obvious in some of the videos, but a lot of the times the primary officer in the chase is by themselves for a few minutes in the chase while all the other officers are trying to catch up and then when they do catch up that is when they will typically start procedures to end the pursuit.

    Around 48:00, that's a picture perfect PIT: moderate speed, off the right hand side, ended the chase. The ASP ultra-high-speed PITs are awesome to watch visually, but I question the sanity of some of them, especially those that were initiated over a traffic infraction. The rule of harm sorta in a round-about way dictates that the potential risk to society by a bunch of folks driving triple digits be offset by the benefit to society of getting someone in custody either because they are a known danger or because not stopping them creates a greater danger than discontinuing. I'm not saying be soft on crime, I'm just advocating for less public danger in the process of being appropriately tough on crime.

    What I cannot understand is that at 22:00 and after there are at least 15 patrol cars and that many officers when the guy is already out of the car and on the ground. Yet they are approaching from a distance with their weapons drawn. With that many officers close by and the distance between them and the suspect, what are they thinking and why, after the pursuit is over, are so many hanging around?

      Prius is one of the best cars ever made, if not the best. Most Prius owners just never drive it even 10% of the way to its limits. They're too busy watching the mpg meter. I don't mind, they all keep the insurance rates down on mine.

    Milwaukee police conducted the sloppiest felony hot stop I've ever seen, they put themselves in danger big time, closed the unit door removing their protection, the officer with the rifle is looking behind himself instead of watching the suspect...They need more training. However, the lead pursuing officer did great keeping up with the suspect vehicle.
