- Managing a team is one thing-but managing every piece of over eighty aircraft plus hundreds of personnel? That requires organization and focus that few can say they’ve mastered. As an Aviation Maintenance Duty Officer, you’re in charge of managing the repair and upkeep of our most lethal aviation assets. You command a variety of rates who must work together to get our birds back into the sky. See if you have what it takes at bit.ly/2Uj3sYH.
Like the shot of a maintainer's tool box - every tool marked and accounted for in aviation. Was Aircrew long ago - in HSL where aircrew was involved with maintenance - we turned wrenches too after flying for 8 hours.
In the Submarine Force Repairs Planners are enlisted, and you make it to that position after at least 10 years of maintenance experience, I was one onboard the USS SImon Lake AS-33, and USS Emory S. Land AS-39.
It's the Ops Officer that get maintenance behind the eight ball. Schuling a 8 aircraft flight plan when you only have 5 PMCF aircraft! From an old retired ADCS.
My ship cvn-71 all through out this ship, @ 1:07 that's my abhc rod and abh3 fleming, and abh2 johnson.
So the navy channel has covered a ton of communities and now the AMDOs (which was great!) - but what about Aerospace Engineering Duty Officers (AEDOs)?! I wonder if they will ever get to that one.
Sir, with all due respect, you forgot the Aviation Electrician's Mates (AEs), Electronics Technicians/"Trons" (ATs), Ordnancemen (AOs), Support Equipment Technicians (AS), and Administrationmen (AZs)!
Yeah, they gonna do AV-ARM like that!
He mentioned AZs.
