One of the reasons why Miss Universe Thailand 2016 and 2017 both wore dark colors for Miss Universe finals is because their King, whom the nation loved so much, just passed away. In 2018 and 2019 when the national mourning was lifted and the new king ascended on the throne they made sure their representative wore shades of red as a celebration. My Thai friends all wore dari colors for a year after their King passed away.

YES! I have been looking forward to this episode. I remember seeing Maria's finals gown and just being in awe, it was so different at the time. Amanda and Paweensuda's gowns were unreal! I can't wait for more of this series. ALSO - just an idea... inspired by the fact that Thailand has such gorgeous crowns every year, in addition to gowns you could also go through and talk about each country's crowns! It would be so fascinating. Congrats on almost 90k, Dani! Your hard work is truly shining through.
Love Miss Thailand 2016's traditional gown. The whole styling is perfection. ❤ Also, what I mentioned about Bea's preliminary and finale gown during MUPH is also how I feel about Amanda. Love the structure and the details of her red dress for the national title, but when I saw her final gown for Miss Universe...UGH! I feel in love. Something about the shade of blue makes me feel calm. Also, I agree with you about Amanda's gold dress.
Honorable mention Miss Thailand 2019's final gown for MU. Her make up and hair was very sexy ❤
I love Maria's prelims gown, it was just classy and fabulous✨ it was definitely for her. The colour choice was perfect for her. She can still wear it in finals and I'd still love it
I also really love Fahsai's finals gown, it was very ethereal. I loved the red ombre effect on the skirt, and the bodice. I just wished she'd lower her arms during evening gown, and let her gown flow naturally.
Amanda's finals gown was one of my favorites during the 2020 edition. The different color of blue and those wave patterns. Loved it.
I love that the vertical lines of stone on Thailand 2017 & 2018's final gowns made me think Thailand. Like if I didn't know who the contestant was representing, I would automatically think that must be Thailand or some neighboring southeast Asian country, just by the dress.
Maria's final gown literally looked like Thai royalty.

For me is a hit with Maria MT 2017 I love loved her gown finals was simply espectacular and so unique and Amanda Obdam's dress for national contest amazing.

I do think that Thailand started to shine in terms of styling in 2016 on to 2020. I hope that they will do better in 2022. On the contrary, I think 2019's pink and black gown at Miss Universe was outstanding. I think that it was so unique but she was still able to draw our attention to her. I'd wear that gown! 😁 And she almost made it! 😊 Great job Dani!

Hahah I just can’t overlook the bust area of Amanda’s gold gown. 😳 love it but that part is a no for me. Hehe. also, her finale gown beading reminds me too much of Cat’s farewell gown so I am not that crazy about it.
Anchilee’s packaging was not very good tbh which is crazy because I think she could definitely have a high chance of winning if they kept her strategy from her Nationals. When she won MUT, I thought it was game over for other girls. I don’t know what was happening behind the scenes, but you can definitely tell that her confidence was missing and that is what is too blame. Not the gold gown.

Anchilee did have another gown, the gown was posted in the MUT IG Account, it was sheer and the details were very very beautiful. I believe the gown was designed by OAT Couture, the same one that designed Amanda's Prelim Gown.💗
The gown was from Valentino Atelier Couture. I disliked that gown as it didn't compliment her curves.

Anchilee Scott was stunning for MUT but she deteriorated so much for MU . And that gold dress for MU prelims , so bad. Paweensuda , on the other hand, was the MU Thailand nearly had. Absolutely gorgeous.

The franchise that owned MUT before TPN gave the top 10 the gowns they have to wear. In 2019 when TPN got the rights, the girls could use the gowns they brought to the competition.
the structure of thailand 2021's gold gown is almost the same as philippines 2021's
I think Asava is the designer from 2016-2018. I know Sophida doesn’t have a lot of fans but I really love her look. She’s like an Asian girl boss. Love love her edgy look in her national pageant.
I am still unsure if like Paweensuda’s finale gown. I think the entire look is too severe. The color of the gown and the lipstick maybe is too dark. While I appreciate the uniqueness of the gown, I thought it’s just a bit too much.

2017: Didn't love Maria's national's gown or the fit, but loved her MU ones, particularly the finals' one!
2018: Agreed on Sophida's national's gown reminiscence of Iris' Michael Cinco red dress (which has been my favorite outgoing MU look). Didn't love the black look or her MU prelims (they were beautiful but not memorable). I did love her MU finals' dress!
2019: Didn't love Paweensuda's national prelim's blue gown; I much preferred the orange one. I did not like her MU prelims' gown at all, but she totally redeemed herself in finals!
2020: I loved all of Amanda's gowns! Would rank them: National finals > MU prelims > MU finals > National prelims
2021: I didn't love Anchilee's gowns, unfortunately, especially the one at MU.

Sophida final gown at MU actually got trolled by their netizen because she look like she is floating with that gown.. i don't understand Thai but many of them share a Meme about that gown..
Paweensuda preliminary gown at MU is kinda cringe to see.. a pink gown with black detailed make she look like cosplaying some characters instead of competing in Miss Universe.. but her final gown is on fire ❤.. i guess she keep the best for last
the only gown i like for both Preliminary & Final is Amanda.. both in MUT & MU.. her team have the best styling so far for entire MUT..

When Catriona won in Thailand some of the beauty queens from Thailand was admire Catriona from her styling, gowns and pasarela. I think Cat really set the high standards in Miss Universe. She's now the standard not just in Miss Universe but in other beauty pageants. And I love how Thailand is improving every year.
I couldn't agree more, those styles started when Catriona Gray Won MU 2018 where she used her Lava gown with a very long slit.
That blue gown is really a rip-off from Catriona's gown. We are not blind 😂

P.S. before 2019 MUT TOP10 evening gown(final night) is a sponser as well.
Then TPN take the MUT license From old organization in 2019 they allowed contestants to wear their own gown.
