When I got to Tokyo for my trip last November I’d been up for over 24 hours. Plane food was gross. I was tired. I got out of the train station by my hotel and right outside was a Family Mart. Got myself a coke and famichiki. I knew it was rude to eat while walking so I tucked myself away in a corner to avoid being rude. I took a bite… it was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I actually started tearing up because I finally realized I was in Japan and it was so good. And somehow the trip got even better.
I am a ‘Red Haired’ man… 60 yrs old. When i went to Japan… ‘88, i was near Akita. The people were Terrified of me!! My friend explained that ‘Red’ hair means you are a Demon in the old culture. We actually thought about dying my hair lol. I was there for about 2 months, and they never warmed up. Looking at you walking around so easily… i kinda get jealous lol
fellow redhead!! I’ve been following you for awhile now & love learning new things about Japan & living vicariously thru you guys!! Love the longer vids of you both !! 🧡
I'm fine with no Tipping CULTURE but, if I have a genuinely good experience, like i see with most Asian restaurants I've seen on here, and in real life personally, I'd love to be able to tip with more money to show my gratitude. They may have different ways but more money is never a bad thing to me lol.
Long form content wooohoooooo! I am absolutely obsessed with your Shorts, love your style. Something I would really like to see is a video about your journey coming to Japan, getting a teaching job, etc and how that process looked like. Putting aside all the practical issues that are inevitable, it all just sounds so dreamy and exciting!
The algorithm brought me here Liked and subbed instantly, this is wholesome and awesome at the same time - please keep enjoying life and sharing these japanese quirks, so effing cool 😂
This longer video was well put together! It was interesting to see the different foods. What about a similar video about unique items you can buy in stores?
I was stationed in Guam once, a very long time ago, and visited Japan for a week. It was hands-down my favorite place I've ever been. I absolutely love your videos. And you totally do look like an anime character.
0:30 Riinu!! He's from the utaite (singing) group Strawberry Prince (すとぷり) I did a double take seeing him randomly haha the group isn't super big outside of japan. I definitely reccomend checking them out!
I went to the Totoro pastry place, the pastries were cold, soft, tasted like they were left in the fridge for days. Only go if you want a nice ambiance, wanna sit and have some sodas or other drinks.
Nice I always wanted to visit Japan and some cousins of mine were there last year. I would love to go diving in the Izu Islands and even Kyushu too because I love the water.
1 Patreon and 2 RUclips Members? Well, you've got at least 3 RUclips members now. This is good content. "Check out my trip to Japan" is dime a dozen stuff. But this channel is presented exceptionally well. It reminds me of Jaiden Animations. Except for the animations part.
Isn't it surreal how easy it is to pop up on RUclips and rack-up subs through pretty much shorts alone that are simply about Japan! 😂.. just insane! 😆. Congrats by the way guys on nearly 400K! 😄
I mean i like tokyo tokyo not just the food. But yeah online culture focuses on food in tokyo alot. Its the restaurant pop up culture there. it gets wierd. Also i hate those cheese coins.
I love y'all's videos sooooo much. But if y'all could get a small microphone for the long for that would be amazing. Because it kinda sounds like y'all on a car the entire time. But instead of that very good video
As a Japanese person I’ve never seen the pancake hack with the fami chicken inside I only eat the fami chicken but it’s so good also I recommend trying the karaagebo- from seven eleven ( カラゲボー )
I've lived in Japan for a number of years now, and I can say 100% that japan puts sugar in just about everything, I stopped eating sugar and I can taste it in just about everything I eat if I don't make my own food.
The pancakes and fried chicken is like the waffles and fried chicken Churches Chicken (or is it Popeyes Chicken....?) has here in Alabama. It's a really big thing here. I've never tried it though.
My sister is really introverted, so she would love to have a place like that ramen place in the US. Why don't people like introverted shops? What if I dont feel like talking with people?
A full length video from Megan and Ben?! Hell yeah
After months of promising 🫠 so glad you liked it 😊
@@thehitobitoplease do more! Still love the shorts but long videos are are even better!!
PLSS DO ANOTHER VIDEOOOO--

The small comforts of Japan are truly magic
I'm Japanese. Thank you for sharing such an emotional story. It's so compelling that Hollywood could potentially turn it into a movie.😊🐔🎞✨
FWIW: Visiting distant places is fun.
TRAVELLING TO distant places -- I e., JET LAG -- kinda sucks.
@@Allan_aka_RocKITEman Idk business class on JapanAir is pretty great C:
Love the longer videos! Please do more! So much fun to watch and more information 🙂
More to come!

Oni, Kappa👺👹👀 and the ring 😅
Hmm maybe Tokyo is a little more progressive...
Is '88 referring to 1988?
@@bunez69xYes. Any two digit number that starts with ' is probably a year. For instance, I was born in '93.
@@bunez69xbefore the year 2000 that is. People sometimes use it for years after 2000 but it's becoming less common.

Awhhh I just read this to Megan and we're so glad! Long videos are super different, so we're getting used to it
Thanks so much :))
Don't you think no tipping culture is so good in Japan?😃
Yes, we're all for it!
Tipping in the US is a leftover from the slavery eras, so yes I think the no tipping culture is great.
I'm fine with no Tipping CULTURE but, if I have a genuinely good experience, like i see with most Asian restaurants I've seen on here, and in real life personally, I'd love to be able to tip with more money to show my gratitude.
