Living in the leafy suburbs of NW London I never thought I would ever see one, I never saw any in my aunt's wood in Somerset and we knew they were about. So it came as a wonderment that about 15 years ago they turned up in my garden and I have been hand feeding them everynight since. Lovely creatures all with different characters.
My dad introduced me to the world of badgers when I was a kid and he took me to a set that he used to watch them when he was younger and it was on the farm land of a friend of his.. I used to climb the tree and wait until they made an appearance and I even got to know up to about 5 of them individually. I once almost fell out of the tree with laughing at the cubs that were jumping off logs on to the boar dad badger who was fed up with their antics.. I think the set is still there although the farm has changed people so I don't know if they will allow me to be snooping around.. I am planning to find a new set in the new area I now live in.. They are amazing animals and they deserve and need our protection..
Lovely video, with such wonderful caring people talking about a national treasure. Isn't it fantastic to see young people getting involved in caring for our wildlife?
I wonder why there isn't more road signs warning drivers that badgers crossing, I've been driving more than 20 years and yet to see a sign 😔 very sad I love all wildlife but badgers hold a special place in my heart ❤

Just great to see some of the best people in this video (Nigel Marven, Steve Backshall, ...). Absolutely great!

Bill Oddie is a hero and a national treasure. He's probably turned down the knighthood that he long ago so richly deserved.
