nico is honestly so beautiful, and as weird as this sounds, seeing textured skin on a youtube makeup artist isnt something i see often and it’s somehow comforting seeing texture on her.
100% agreed. Everyone's skin has texture so it's wild that beauty social media has made us think otherwise with the excessive filters, ring lights, FaceTune, etc. Edit: ALL skin has a texture, smooth bumpy, dry, flaky, inflamed, etc. Some of you missed the point.
@@kellygreengables3936 some people dont tho, if by that you mean bumps, porous skin, spots etc like personally that's hyperpigmentation and dark circles is more of an issue
thank you! seeing my skin as clearly as possible is obviously so important with product reviews🫶🏽
@@kellygreengables3936 idk about that. When you go outside, you do see people who look airbrushed too. I think it's a bit insecure and backhanded to telling other people you find their lack of skin perfection comfortingly. I know this isn't what was said but it sounds like "you're ugly just like me so I don't have to feel insecure about seeing someone prettier than me".
@@mushy470 1) I didn't make the original comment on being happy to see textured skin. 2) I never denied that people can have smooth, airbrush looking skin. 3) ALL skin has a texture. "Texture" isn't just acne or bumps. Skin texture can be smooth, dry, flaky, plump, bumpy, etc. Claiming I'm insecure or happy someone is "ugly like me" cuz I mentioned social media distorting how we see real skin is unfair. Especially when I didn't make a negative comment about anyone or deny that people can have smooth skin IRL.
That Danessa Myricks palette is soo stunning. I don't even wear eyeshadow and I want it.
neither do i!!!!!! it just performs so well
I am the same way. I bought it. Now I wear eyeshadow more often.
The colours are gorgeous... I'm tempted myself lol
I've seen other reviews of this product, and it seems it's not really that good. And DM prices are outrageous.
My friend bought it and it’s so amazing irl. So shiny and pigmented. I agree on price though, very high 😬
The NARS light reflecting foundation is so dreamy ✨️
My favourite videos ever, I watch these every time they come out
I really appreciate all your hard work Nico!
Nico that look you did with the Danessa Myricks palette is literally one of my absolute favorite eye looks!! I been wanting that palette for soo long maybe I'll just have to finally pick it up! 😆

Oooh I just noticed that your eyes are such a nice warm toned brown that they look reddish sometimes! So unique and pretty!
Those One Size blushes looked flawless! Is there a drug store version of the best products of 2022? Thanks Nico! 💝💝
the kvd shadow looks great💕👌
I don't know if that nars lipstick will even look ok on me, but to wear a lovely red and not have to worry about it-- I'm going for it!!! Also, you are so lovely!!! ❤
You have the most perfect skin but we can still see through your skin like humane texture, that's what I like about this channel so much. Makes it relatable
Can anyone appreciate how much money and skill Niko puts into her vids every month?
I feel like she should make a drug store version of this series I would love that sm ahh
This isn't a series, it's the year end round-up, and the drug store version already came out the other day! The main series spans drug store to high end price points.
I think they just did one yesterday.
i did! i believe it’s the last upload :)
She already did
Very Very nice selections 💥💥💥💥💥
Nico! I just discovered you! I thought this was just you but it seems like a mix of people. I would love to see you do your makeup beginning to end especially the eyes! I’m Dominican York!
People hate on that MAC mascara. I LOVE it. It really does lift the lashes. It's Lush too.. really a underrated, great mascara.
What does the Fenty lip butter smell like? thank you!
Yes, yes, YES!!! Totally agree that Danessa Myricks KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK with Lightwork IV!!! It's even killer on ageing skin: I turned 40 last July, so I'm creeping up on 41, and it still looks killer on me! If I do say so myself 😅.
I wasn't as consistent with skincare or SPF as I would've liked myself to be in my youth. Because I worked in the beauty industry through my 20s, I've had access to lower-cost professional-grade skin/haircare, plus free and/or cheap esthetics treatments, depending on the salon I worked at.
Unfortunately, even though I kept trying, I couldn't find any SPF that didn't drive me insane until I discovered K and J Beauty products. However, luckily, I live in a super wet, temperate, cloudy/foggy climate (PNW). So it's not as bad as it could have been if I'd lived my whole life in, say, Saskatchewan, or New Mexico, and didn't wear sunscreen every minute of every day. I also sleep A LOT, and worked indoors/nights during my mid-late 20s to mid-30s. While I may not have as many wrinkles as your average person my age who lived the crazy life I did, they're creeping up on me. Despite this, the formula in Danessa's palette go on smooth as butter, and don't settle into my laugh lines! If anyone reading this is 40 and over, and thinking, "I love those colours and I want that palette, but I'm worried about wrinkles," or "Could I even get away with that at my age,"? If you can afford it, go get it!!! You don't have to wear 5 colours from lash to brows; you can do a mostly neutral eye, then swipe a little onto the inner third portion of your eyelid with your finger, then blend the edges with a brush. Boom.
The Kaleidos multichrome liners are also THE TITS!! Not as opaque as Lightwork IV, but they glide on, STAY IN MY WATERLINE, which seriously lives up to the name! My eyes leak like dollarstore diapers; they'll often start running if I accidentally get eyeshadow or setting powder too close. The act of applying a liner to my waterline is enough to make my face go bright red. Even ColourPop, the patron saint of affordable-yet-awesome gel liners? That formula can make my eyes go off on a bad day. So I was pleasantly surprised by Kaleidos' multichrome liners. They were recently on sale, so I grabbed backups of my favourite colours. I suggest layering over black for the best payoff.
I also seriously concur with your take on Haus Labs' Triclone foundation. Because I'm dumb, and I rarely shop in person anymore, I found it hard to figure out their shade range. It looks like they're trying to neutralise everyone's undertones or something? So, in order to get your perfect match, you have to think backwards. Or try to go from the swatches online.
So I said eff it, and went for the white. I have a couple foundations that are too deep, and most foundations are too saturated for me. This shade/formula takes everything down a notch, without leaving a pasty cast. I maybe wouldn't recommend that anyone with skin in the deep-deep shade range use that shade to lift, sheer, or desaturate. It's a fairly pricey product to only be using a half a drop at a time, especially when you can get a tube of the lightest LA Girl, and drop a tiny bit onto your palette/hand to adjust your perfect shade. Even then? I'd probably go for a neutral tone a shade or two lighter. That's if you're between shades, decided to go for the deeper of the two, thus you need to lift it up a bit during winter.
OMG! Or this magical product!! Is your skin hard to find the absolute perfect foundation match for? Perhaps the deepest shade is too light/red/cool for you, or the lightest shade is deep/saturated/the wrong undertone? For all the fair/light olive babes out there?
Danessa Myricks has this wicked cream pigment palette in primary colours. Get one of those, and some of her skin oil, and play around with your ratios until you've got your perfect formula cold. Then, you can mix your own perfect, custom foundation shade, and do it PDQ once you get it to where you know exactly how much of each colour you need.
The palette has 6 pans: primary Red, Yellow and Blue, Black, White, and a very cool, almost grey-toned Brown...like a medium-deep contour colour. You use the oil as a mixing medium, because they're fairly thick creams. If you go on Danessa's site, I'm pretty sure there's a video that shows you how to do it.
I'm not sure if she's still making them...I hope she is....I haven't seen them on her site, but I have seen them elsewhere. Or vice versa? But I have seen a few out there still.
If you can't find that exact palette, you can always get a similar palette, or separate pots of cream pigment, from Mehron or Kryolan (spelling?). I think Salt has all the primaries in their build your own palette. Hell, with everyone (Tarte, Elf, etc) coming out with expansive colour correcting lines, you don't even have to shell out Kryolan/Mehron/Salt money. Tarte even has both Black and White in addition to Blue, Red, and Yellow, in their new shape tape correctors.
There are many options.
Hooookay, I've gone on forever in this comment! I think those are all the products I've gotten from this video. I thought long and hard about getting the bright pink Check Clapper, but I'm DROWNING in blush rn. Especially that super-vibrant pink shade: I've got at least 3 of those. Mostly, though, I went overboard with cream and balm blushes from Rituel De Fille. Well..."pigments". You can use them as blushes, bronzers and contours, depending on the shade, plus lip colour and eyes. I find they crease like crazy on my eyes, and migrate quite a bit.. They're finicky on the eyes: you have to prime then go over with powder after. As face products, though? Amazing, and that goes for both the cream and the balm formula. I have every shade of the latter, and I'm getting pretty close to having every one of the former. They're rad. Same goes for RDF's new skincare line. The Thorn Milk spray and cleansing balm? Chef kiss.
Explain how to use all beauty brushes tools beauty machines for all ages
Unfortunately NARS light reflecting foundation was a no for me. Melted off my face within a couple of hours! 😢
Nars you are supposed to use your fingers to blend
You look too beautiful in the thumbnail
I wish Nars was cruelty free. I won't use it.
We calling Item Beauty high end now?? XD
First
I’m I the only one who is always annoyed by the “the skin” instead of “my skin” thing beauty influencers do?
Again with a recap 🥴🙄
ew such a platform promoting KNOWN BAD PRODUCTS WITH BAD OWNERS?
I really enjoyed the Kosas concealer at first, I even finished a tube and repurchased. But the undertones were a little off for me, and my second tube started stinging my undereyes and changed smells before the expiration date so I haven't used it since. 🥲
ive heard that theyre a ‘clean’ beauty brand so they dont use preservatives and thats why their products go off so quickly, even before theyve been opened. ive read ppl saying their products quickly started smelling and even growing mold…
@@hamsterfan999 yeah, there are two preservatives in it but they aren't known to be especially robust compared to other preservatives. Fortunately I didn't see any mold or texture change, but this is exactly why idolizing "clean" and "natural" can be bad for cosmetics!
