    Wow you have one!
Let me know what you think of the ideas I mentioned in my other comment.

That Nakamichi 1000 is my favorite playing deck. the sound is so natural with zero color on the sound and it's recording ability is tied as the best with my AIWA AD-F770 and AD-F990, they are fantastic recorders too!

@@manzanaresantonio Excellent! Do you have an interface to record sound demos direct to your computer?
Also, I was wondering if the Nakamichi 1000 has any IC's in it? Are there many, or any electrolytic capacitors and could they be easily switched out for ceramic capacitors, or something else with a longer lifespan?
If someone were to replace the tubes in the Nakamichi 1000 with transistors, then what might you suggest?...Would FET's be a good choice?
Thanks in advance man! If some of these ideas go ahead then I may have a few more questions to ask you if that's ok? Do you know where to find a service manual (schematics, etc) for the Nakamichi 1000?

@@Kyle-sg4rm I am not a technician, so I can'r answer that question, I am just a wanna be technician ;)
I don't think this Nakamichi has any Tubes, it's all resistors and capacitors inside. I would only change the capacitors that look bad and replace them with high quality "audio grade" ones!

@@manzanaresantonio Allgood. I'm not a technician either - wish I had those skills though.
      It says on hifiengine: Semiconductors: 134 x transistors, 68 x diodes, 9 x IC,
with no mention of tubes, so i'm not sure where I got that from.
Was there a Nakamichi 1000 and a Nakamichi 1000 Tri Tracer? Or are they the same machine?

@@Kyle-sg4rm The only other Nakamichi 1000 is the Nakamichi 1000 ZXL the best cassette deck ever made and the son of this Nakamichi 1000 Tri-Tracer!
Those would cost you around 5,000 Dollars, but they are extremely complex to repair, even by seasoned Nakamichi Technicians!
