The past few years Transition appears to have been pulling the geometry innovation cart. Since their spire is now 62.5 - 63... Yeah we'll probably be headed that way for enduro bikes.
It'll likely be slacker than that. They know where they want to get with head angles, however to make the most money they'll release a new model every few years to keep up with other brands. The 62 degree realm of hta seems like the sweet spot imo.
Thanks for the detailed video! Which build was he on? C GX AXS Reserve? Curious to see if they followed the Oxblood Nomad C and CC paint difference. Your build looks like you can still see the carbon layup underneath the paint.
@@lexusstefan927 This is definitely a C GX AXS Reserve build in the video and it looks to still have the nice paint job, but could just be the studio lighting. SC told me "the paint does indeed change from the C to the CC frame options" so who knows haha.
@@lexusstefan927 saw both colors in person at work today. Got to check out both CCs in the sun and the blue and green colorway is so dark that you can't really tell that much that the frame isn't a solid color. The green Santa Cruz logo, on the other hand, definitely changes color in the light. Great looking bike! Can't wait for mine to show up.
@@mikesbikes lol, and if that bike felt good on you. What more if you had a proper sized one. I'm 5'10 and a half and I fall between a Medium and Large. Leaning towards medium tho, should I choose one
@@martsmarts It's always tough to choose. For most people on the cusp, they tend to go with the smaller size although a lot of it comes down to personal preference. @@martsmarts if it helps, I'm 5'10" and have had a V1 for over three seasons now and have not much desire for something any longer than what I have. So, if I replace my V1 with a V2 after this season, it's undoubtedly gonna be with a size M. The M is longer in both wheelbase and rear center (not surprisingly) than my L V1.
@@TFritz82 thanks Tim. Leaning towards medium. But I do wanna demo ride one as well. Pretty sick to have an agile one as I prefer riding them aggressively
Stop calling them acoustic bikes, you have mountain bikes and mopeds. But on the Megatower I can't wait to try one, I have the previous one but with a 180 fork a cascade link and 170 coil in the rear, so I'm curious how they will compare.
The hot the 2019 v1 bike and I love it but I liked the more trail feel now I don’t know if I’m gonna buy this one because it might be a little bit to big for my terrain I might like it too much lol
Great bike , rides smooth ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing
*My 65 yr old dad bought this and he assembled it by himself. He absolutely loves **Latest.Bike** . He did however order a bigger seat.*
Good to see Solstice is still alive and well in it’s Chonky goodness 😎

Another RUclipsr says it can hang with the Ripmo and Yeti sb130 on the climbs???
I need one, just wondering how I'm going to fit an XL on my bike carrier! That wheelbase is massive!
Solid review. And thanks for saying "acoustic" instead of "analog". 😆
I thought it was more a likening to "acoustic" vs "electric" guitars hahaha
@@TFritz82 precisely! That’s why I like “acoustic” better. 😆

Seen some photos on Instagram and i think you are correct about the paint. Only if the Nomad had a better version than brown

Nice review how bout 5010 and chameleon pls thanks
Pretty sure you're mixing up the hightower for the mega v1.
I still have my 2008 Superlight. Thinking about getting Tallboy or 5010.
Does it come in just the one color shown?
2 Colors! "Matte Nickel" and "Translucent Blue". Both colors are up on Mike's Bikes .com. 👍🏻
Where does this sit compacted to the nomad
Jeeez how rowdy was that line!?
Honestly... that was a Buff XC line, we just fast forwarded to footage to make it look scary. 😉
Seams like there should be a statement in this somewhere that Mike's Bikes is owned by the same company that owns Santa Cruz Bikes.
That would too informative
They are owned by PON. Go look at how many MTB company’s are owned by PON. It’s ridiculous.
What color is that bike?
Love the bike. What's your height and what frame size did you ride?
Matt is 5'10 and this is a Large... its a slight bit oversized, but hey are we gunna tell Santa Cruz we don't want the demo bike?! 🤪

Same, I have a 170 fork And cascade link. Most definitely need to spend time on this to see if it’s worth the upgrade.
But is it really that much better then a custom built 20/21 Megatower
noone gonna mention the intro song is the same as the pinkbike podcast transition song?
lol, really?! 😂 We had no idea that other people had access to the same music on Artlist.io.
The trails on this vid are practically greens! This bike can do full DH/bike park, just not as fast as true DH

Throw a 170 fork on the V1. Slackens out the Geo and you’re good lol.
Longer, slacker and has storage... okay... Definetly catching up in terms of raw features.
The compression ratio is still disappointing. Could have kept 160 travel with a 65 stroke shock 🙃 for a 2.46 : 1 ratio
