    I have this group set, last week or so. They did an update on the app. And added amt+ technology. So a Garmin now connects with gearing and battery life with the rear derailleur. That's a big plus. But yes, the way that you adjust the shifting and the gears. It's very non-intuitive. It does work but you really have to spend some time to figure it out. The update was definitely welcome though for the Garmin. Lastly, I figured out if you leave it in casual mode, the derailleurs fully go to sleep. If you leave it in race mode, the derailleurs does not fully go to sleep and you'll lose battery life slowly. And then at 20%, it automatically goes to casual mode. That's all in the update

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  5 месяцев назад +2

      yea I keep it in casual mode just becaue I want longer battery life and the lack of shifting i do, but yes they do need to adjust the shifting setup in the app, just make it so it adjusts in real time

    I bought two of these. I believe for western customers, this groupset is better used for their secondary bikes due to the warranty. In China though, wheeltop's warranty policy is superb, I broke my front Derailleur cage due to my own fault, but they replaced mine with new cage free of charge.
    This groupset has come a long way after May's firmware update, know we have ant+ function so gearing can be seen on bike computers. The auto trimming seems to be a lot quiter on the front derailleur when riding in large chainring than it used to be. Also, the newer version of manual makes it much easier to setup this group (I hope newer manual will be avalible in English).
    At this moment, my main complains are the stiff shifter hood, which makes the brake bleeding a real pain. Also, waterproofing on both shifters and derailleurs, as there are report of water intrusion on all these parts after heavy rain riding. But in my overall experience with the group is pretty positive. If wheeltop solves all the issue I mentioned above, the EDS TX will be a very competitive groupset on the market.
    To those who keeps complaining about the pricing of this kit, please remember a 105 di2 groupset can be had at this price because of questionable sources these 105 di2 come from. If you can buy a set of 105 di2 in retail packaging at this price, then ignore my words. Also, an random seller on Xianyu is selling what he claims to be a set of counterfeit 105 di2 , I hope thats a scam, but it is worring.

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  5 месяцев назад +3

      yea the hoods are so tight, the quality is great but it is like you said very difficult to move, even for wrapping handlebars, and like you said people are seeing 105 di2 for cheap, but keep in mind, buying from a retail store in united states or online it is still like 1700-2000 for a complete group, all the other prices are from eu and uk and china..... the shifting has always been great for what the price is and the overall expereince of the group is nice and i have no need to remove it from a bike I use a good amount

    I opted for the LTwoo ER9 groupset. It has it's quirks and issues, but the app at least lets you adjust in real time and batteries are replaceable. Also at this point, if the ER9/X does have issues, it's most likely related to the RD. Replacement parts are currently available for purchase.

      I have good experiences also with it.
      Only gripes are pulling back the hoods for bleeding and the fact that gears show up reversed in the ant+ display.
      One ride there was a moment where for about 5 seconds I couldn’t shift at the rear… I was like f…. But then it came back.
      The battery door on my right shifter was not properly done from the factory (a bit of o-ring was sticking out). Not sure if it was that or just some interference.

    Got mine on AliExpress. Under $600 for rim brake version. Installed on my Titanium tandem with S&S couplers. The fact that it is wireless made the upgrade easy. I thought about Shimano R8000 Ultegra, but that would have been about $1200. And running wires through the frame, past the front bottom bracket eccentric chain tension adjustment would have been very difficult. Only problem I had is on the tandem, the rear derailleur is much further away and sometimes, it doesn't get the signal to shift, and I have push shift button again. But very happy with it so far! And you are are right, the app not great, took me quite awhile to figure out.

    I was upgrading my cyclocross bike (also used as a gravel bike and winter road bike) to 12speed electronic groupset from 11speed mechanical Ultegra/105 less than a month ago and this groupset was among the top considerations of what to go for. In the end I went for SRAMano - Apex AXS shifters, Rival AXS front mech, second hand Rival AXS rear mech, Magene PES P505 Base powermeter cranks with Shimano Ultegra chainrings (currently in 46/34 configuration, as I need to buy an adaptor to move the mech up to clear 50t big ring), 105 cassette, XT chain, XT rotors and Sram Level TLM brake calipers I had laying around with Shimano adaptors to fit flat mount fork - that cost me pretty much the same price, but also included a 105 cassette. If there was even cheaper variant of this groupset without the calipers with option to fit existing Shimano ones, I would most likely go with this one, but that's no longer available. Hearing your thoughts about the EDS TX, I'm glad I decided to go with what I did (I'm just not the biggest fan of tlSram's shifting logic, but that's not a huge deal and will likely change once I'll convert to 1x with GRX 820 chainring for cyclocross races).

    Does the rear automatically default to Shimano spacing for however many speeds you have? And if it does, will it also be able to accommodate Campy spacing? 11sp is pretty much the same between the two but 10sp is not. And will it store wheel profiles if I want to mix things up? Say a Campy 10 and a Shimano 11? I ask because my trainer is Shimano only but my bike is Chorus 10. I built a Campy spaced cassette out of an Ultegra one and it works but it would be nice if it no longer mattered.
    As for price, you can maybe get the same parts in 105 or Rival for less, IDK, but that means you are locked in. I'd have to replace everything on my bike for that to work and this will be much cheaper. And besides, I don't have disc brakes.

    Would the shift quality not be primarily influenced by the chainrings, shain and cassette? So a legacy DA, Ultegra or 105 10sp mechanical base should still shift fine. A gross oversimplification would be a rear der is just a chain jockey wheel that guides a chain and a front der just shoves the chain back and forth. So really its mostly all in the control system designed around it all. Synchro shift, auto trim, firmware support, etc. I just have a feeling e-tube's going to be supported for many years. What you showed? Who knows. Non replaceable battery and sketchy app makes it a no-go for its price point

    Not even close to worth the price when you can build a full Rival AXS - with cranks, casette, chain for basically the same price piecemeal over ebay.
    I've spent just over $1k to go full Rival and that included wheels on 370 DT hubs, and new rotors, plus all the above mentioned stuff.
    The batteries are not removable, so you've gotta plug the whole bike in, at two points, FD and RD. Then obviously, if a battery dies, the whole derailleur needs replacing, which apparently cannot be purchased individually.
    This set gets a thumbs down for all those reasons.
    HOWEVER, if you're wanting electronic without having to replace the other parts (say, keeping your sunrace or whatever casette, cheap cranks and existing 2x10 or w/e stuff), then this is an option - but then you're setting a new ceiling.

      And I bought all that within the past 2 months, plus it's SRAM. I can't see a scenario where the wheeltop could be even comparable, let alone a "better deal".

      I just don't see how it's attractive to spend $750 on this, when you can spend just a tiny bit more and get so much more from a better brand.
      If this only cost $500, I could see the logic, but it's not in a "sweet spot" price point. If you can afford $750, you can afford $900.
      So it begs the question, "who is this for?"
