The Prophet Sallalahu alaihi wa sallam said to gift each other with gifts because it increases love, and to accept it even if it were trotters of a sheep (meaning accept it even if you don't like it) Also, since birthdays aren't allowed in Islam, there shouldn't be a special occasion why you give your spouse a gift. It doesn't have to be a materialistic gift. It could be a thoughtful card or a box of chocolates or a special dinner. I feel gifts aren't mandatory and you shouldn't be expecting for a gift, but if you can surprise your spouse with something they really need or wanted for a long time, it'd be kind of you to do that just to make them happy and increase the love between each other. This is just my take on it. But it's cool to see that you both have come to an agreement on this.. MashaAllah
You guys are the first couple I‘ve ever seen doing it like this and having this kind of perspective when it comes to gifts! It makes so much sense though and it’s super inspiring, love you guys
This video randomly came on my feed and I saw it and instantly thought, "What?! That could never be me." I went ahead and watched it and wow, you guys made really good points and changed my perspective.
Mashallah, seriously i clapped when you mentioned that you bought Ryan an Xbox before quarantine. You’re a real wifey material. That’s a great healthy relationship right there. 👍🏾
honestly it comes down to it being your relationship so its your rules on how you want to foundation it. this is the most beautiful cause you are not following others ideology, your forming your own methods which means your being a leader not a follower
Yes I agree with you! everyones relationship is different and I have just seen other people gift their spouse things cause they feel like they have to. I love this rule Ryan and I have between each other!
Allah's slave I think you are confusing my comment I meant they are not following what society says like social media. Social media has a huge impact on our daily day norms of living like gift giving. If they don’t want to give each other gifts that’s between them (not Allah swt)
I'm exactly the same about gifts. Hate to wait for a specific date to gift someone something. And experiences are more dear to me than tangible objects. InshAllah my future husband will think alike.
I mean as Muslims shouldn’t we not be caring the much about the dunyah and materialistic things? Gifts don’t always have to be expensive and materialistic things
nice thought. but going on special trips on special occasions, this amounts to the same thing - its just not an object - its actually a very big fancy lavish gift
Just another thought to put out there - if their birthday/special occasion wasnt marked in any way at all (in the scenario that they werent 'needing' a gift), do we really think that would be ok - or would they start feeling like 'my partner doesnt care about me, not even on this 'big' occasion.
I like no gift policy as well! I would rather they pick up on my language of love which is my home to be clean, a meal at home & time well spent! I would rather spend the funds on our goals such as home or something for the home, travel!
Good idea as my husband is not a gifts and I use to get angry now I get use to it stressful trips is the best present go buy it yourself I love that idea . Does Ryan speak Arabic? We have the same name but I spell itNuha
Noha Hamid yesIt is a beautiful name we should know not very common Arabic name which I like then it would be a big challenge for you to do one RUclips segment of all In Arabic And one of the videos oh I think it was maybe on the five love languages He talked about making pad Thai does he do it from his own creation or is he copying a recipe or both if so I would love to see a segment on the pad Thai
That's true, it can be stressful, I always try to find out from other people what they want. Or cash is a great gift cause then they can get whatever they want, it's just not as thoughtful haha
You two Masha Allah are a very nice couple may Allah protect you ...I wish you would stop adding music to ur background cuz it is Haram and we will hear u both better with no music
So what do you guys do on that day? I don't like eating cake. O try fruit looking like cake or coconut or jibne halawet i want. I want get my kid sushi as cake* he loves sushi.so what u guys do or go out eat?
Yeah we do not gift on occasions, just cause it's his birthday I don't just buy something that he doesn't need just to get him a gift. We wait till there is something we want and we get it right when we want.
I’m sure my husband wouldn’t want ME to see this video. He loves getting gifts from me. Before kids we always travelled for birthdays but these days that would be the most expensive type of gift. It’s nice to see Noha and hubby enjoying gifting each other these types of gifts 💕 no shame in labelling it 😊
Yes, traveling is my favorite gift but it can’t get expensive and hard to do plan with time off. It’s my fav cause experiences last with me longer than any material item. But I still like my stuff! That’s so cute he likes to gift you stuff ❤️

Yesss. You literally saved me from writing all this. I wouldve waffled without getting to the point😂
Yes my dear but these are RUclipsrs, they seem to have come up with a better policy than the sunnah... They will see it in their book of deeds.
@@ghafranhaque7161 a better policy than the sunnah? What🤣 what is better than the prophet's sayings and actions? You really lost the plot my friend
@@Qurann21 I don't think you understood the sarcasm. Sigh
@@killphaser25 oh looooool my bad. I didnt read it properly at all
The Holy Prophet has taught that the husband should look for excuses to gift his wife. Whereas, the wife doesn't ever have to gift her husband.
If the husband and wife love receiving and giving gifts thats great! I just hope people don't do it from the pressure of society
I love gifting or experiences especially anniversaries which are milestones. Or Eid time . Love it
You guys are the first couple I‘ve ever seen doing it like this and having this kind of perspective when it comes to gifts! It makes so much sense though and it’s super inspiring, love you guys

Totally agree 👍👍👍

Mashallah, seriously i clapped when you mentioned that you bought Ryan an Xbox before quarantine. You’re a real wifey material. That’s a great healthy relationship right there. 👍🏾
Well there's no rule that says you can only exchange gifts during occasions anyway 😄
Very true!

@Allah's slave well thats between god and them, you should learn to stop judging others it mentions in the quran many times not to judge someone.

I would prefer vacations too or a nice gift card to a bookstore.
