I’m going to have to watch this video again to take notes as well as look through your store for ‘key words’ for items. You are a You Tube Creator, BUT you actually have a large store doing business and you’re buying all kinds of items for various prices. It’s so helpful to see someone who gives advice and is actually reselling for a living. Thank you for all the help.

Where I live, thrift stores are staffed by resellers. They pick out the best pieces before they even go into the store. There is absolutely nothing left except cheap polyester tops, plastic shoes and acrylic sweaters.

Hey Karen saying hi from the UK. So glad you are showing clothes again, you got me started selling after watching you a few years ago so many tips thank you. Ps had to add I live in a 600 year old thatched cottage it’s a privilege to share in its history even if my husband has multiple concussion’s from the wonky doorways and low beams 😂 . Keep up the great advice Lorri .

I think that trim on the Lilly Pulitzer romper is called "soutache" trim. It resembles ribbon and is usually rolled in some way.

It is always good to go to the stores at the mall, for example when you are in Florida, try to pick one of the nicest mall close to you and visit the stores personally. This is the great way to learn about trends and styles. You will learn that some brands carry not only for women, and kids but also for men. I bet there are many people who doesn’t know Lilly Pulitzer now has also clothes for men.

What a coincidence for me to choose this video without it being in the title . It popped up on my side bar for a reason. I used to own a brick and mortar business and decided to open an Ebay store. I've been an entrepreneur my entire adult life and looking for another stream of income. You just inspired me, because I woke up thinking about my Ebay store believe it or not. It's the characteristic of an entrepreneur . Most of us can relate , our brains rarely shut down, when launching new ideas. You have really just sparked some ideas for me. I looked around your eBay store , you have very nice items. I'm still trying to get more items listed and its been challenging because I don't know my way around the layout of Ebay , the way I used to decades ago. Things have changed so much. Thank you so much for this video. I love when creators bring value . I'm a new subscriber now!

Yes, my mother was a fantastic seamstress and always matched patterns. I have always looked for match patterns and mention it in my listing since it is rare nowadays to find in clothing. Always a pleasure to see it.

I have noticed over the years that Ebay usually has a slump right around tax day. I think people are more aware of their money and how they're spending it, for a few weeks. I don't worry about branding either. If I like it, I buy it.

  • @zachman364

You can check authenticity of Lilly Pulitzer by the material pattern. There is the word Lilly worked into the print. Not sure it is always but most do have it. You have to look closely sometime.

The blue Lululemon is callled the Lululemon Run: Ice Queen Long Sleeve in
    Slope Stripe Limitless Blue
Looks Authentic to me. They offer a service to replace the logos if they crack or fall off and it’s possible the replacement was put on crooked. Factory seconds are imperfect often and sold at their outlets.

Your top is so darned cute. I think people like the fact that you are looking for excellent condition and quality items, that you clean/process for sale. That is important to your buyers. They are getting value. Your discussion on pattern placing on clothing is called "pattern matching". The pattern needs to line up on the front and sides of the garment.

Trim is sometimes referred to as "gimp". I know that when I learned to sew, I was taught to match the patterns as this is the "proper way" and because so, it can cost more to make because you may have to purchase a little more fabric in order to get the patterns to match. Don't know about Tommy B though.

I remember when your daughter was first getting you into selling & here you are on YT LOL. The SJ is VERY old vintage label. Should still go for a nice price, but they are a harder sell than more contemporary SJ. You can find the label on the VFG site I'm sure, but 70's from memory.
Can't believe you found so many high end NWT pieces. Is this from a thrift store or a consignment shop? If it's a thrift, you've got an amazing thrift there! I've never heard of shoes being rubber banded together & our thrifts put stuff in color & size order, so the end of the aisle thing doesn't make any difference. Another tip, I like to scan the bottoms of the
clothing, to see if there are any hanging tags, often a quick way to find NWT.
Also, Ulla P has died for me too.

      @judybryant3880 2 года назад

@@anotherinternetidiot6300 I do see your point as Goodwills, Thrift Stores, etc. have increased their prices lately but everything every where is increasing including wages. Granted, the wage increase hasn't helped people because the cost of everything else is up. As far as thrift stores go, people in other areas seem to find things that I could never find here. So even though these resellers make money off of their finds, you may get a better buy of something you wanted or liked than at retail that you wouldn't have found at your thrift store. I have never bought anything from a reseller but there is a lot of work in it and I would rather do a regular job than try reselling myself but I do respect your opinion.

Just ran across your channel and I absolutely love it! 🥰 I had a resale shop back in 1992 and have enjoyed reselling ever since. You don’t have to worry about competition as there is always enough to go around. I’ll be waiting for your next video and checking out your store. Thanks so much for sharing. Always grateful 💝

I’m not a seller, just a buyer. The most important thing to me in clothing is fiber content, I won’t buy anything with synthetic fibers, even blended with natural fibers. For shoes, belts and bags, only genuine leather.

And Goodwill is LOADED with fakes so resellers need to be careful when buying them from thrift stores

Hi Karen, Boy you found some great clothing! We do not have St. Johns much around here. The black dress would look so nice on you-you should keep it! Lilly Pultzer love her clothing, always cheerful colors. The dress you found would look great on you playing golf, tennis or visiting Mellissa!--What do you think??? I am trying to be your fashion consultant! LOL ( kidding). I found Tory Burch shoes most of the time leather and great return,

It depends. I would not tell people to pick up things that are really easy to find because it saturates the market, but often times, actually -- there is almost nothing that you find that I would ever find in the middle of nowhere, though other people could. The bigger problem would be telling people what you source from a dollar store, etc. The market would saturate immediately.
