Why shouldn't they? Though they won't teach real coding with that company, but coding MAKES YOU THINK!!! So what's wrong if young kids give their shot at it at a young age, like they do for other academic subjects? It may or may not be their cup of tea, THEY MAY OR MAY NOT LIKE CODING, BUT THE ANSWER'S ALWAYS A NO IF YOU DON'T TRY!?? What's wrong in exploring this field too?

What Prakhar needs to understand is, coding does not equate to the entire digital world. For example, I'm a water resources engineering student. The field of water resources has computer applications at almost every step like Mapping by GIS, modelling on softwares....and what not. But coding here is hardly a requisite for any of us students, because for majority of us our work requires knowledge on how to use these softwares and not on how to create the softwares. I know coding these softwares is very crucial for further technical developments in the field, and it is fundamental to the entire system, but it is not the only step. It's like everyone in the food industry should know farming.
Coding is an important link, but it isn't the entire chain.

Learning how to code at age of 5 is like learning physics at that age. 5 year old child is learning basic division, multiplication. How he will be able to comprehend complex concepts like ds, algo, oop etc and if someone thinks ki "kuch nai sikhne se acha ye kuch toh sikhle" is bs bcoz without this concepts coding is very very basic(one wont be able to create any meaningful app forget about sellable product) and anyone can learn ths things within a month. Comparing ki bache ko 5 saal ki umar me cricketya kisi aur sport ki coaching dena with coding is absurd bcoz thr is no prerequisites for sports jo young kid ke pass nai h but for coding one need basic understanding of mathematics and critical thinking which most of 5 year kid dont have.

Same can be achieved in 3 to 6 months by 12 or 13 year old and even faster by 18 year old. So advantage will be limited. I'm a "coder" and have been doing this for 6+ years now. I disagree with Prakhar here. The sentiment where he thinks English will be replaced by C++(or any other programming language) is exactly what the big private companies wanted people to think.
Coding will be a tool in the future, but it won't be the future. 15-20 years back a lot of institutes popped up that advertised English as the future. They implanted insecurities in parents by saying things like "your kid won't get ahead in life if he/she doesn't get a good grasp of English." And that is exactly what companies like White Hat Jr are saying. Agreed people who are proficient in English have an edge, but that doesn't mean people who don't know English have failed in their lives. Similar is the case with coding. It will just be a tool in the future, it is for sure as hell will not be the future of human communication.

What will happen if they learn to code? Will they become programmer? No. Programming field has lot of areas from frontend to full stack. From designer to product management.
If everyone starts to learn programming then market will saturated with bad programmers.
When someone will not be able to code, their parents will be like look at him and look at you. It will be harder to digest that you don't know how to code and most of their parents will blame their child.
It's like asking everyone to be engineer. I myself a programmer and tbh it's need so much dedication but you will have that dedication when you finally matured enough because it will be your bread and butter at some point for rest of your life.

Well coding is disguised form of mathematics if you go more deep into it . With various concepts of PnC , discrete mathematics , graph theory and what not!
With basic coding (which is what they will be teaching most probably) you cannot produce a high end product and most of the time you will not be able to comprehend what's going on the backstage of a software. So it's totally absurd to teach these things to very young children , let them enjoy their childhood.
The way they are marketing it , they are only using the insecurities of middle class people. Coding isn't something that gurantees a great future. It is just a tool which can enhance your problem solving capabilities and not everyone needs to learn it , those who want , will automatically learn from anywhere possible.

I had seen this video before and after recently being told some whitehat related information, I decided to come back and make this comment.
Being a former software engineer, I don't think there's anything wrong with children learning to code. I, myself started learning coding at age 10 in school.
But a friend of mine works at an NFBC and told me that many of the credit seeker are working class ppl, like vegetable vendor, garage mechanics, etc who are seeking loans from 70k-3L to make their children join whj.
Sales executive from whj are told to target the working class and feed them false dreams of their children will earn lakhs of investment from the apps they develope.
These ppl are not savy enough to know the reality, we privileged ppl do.
The problem with whj is not that they are teaching coding to kids but their utterly bs, over the top, false marketing.
Their sale reps are told to get converts by hook or crook, whatever the means.
Working class ppl with an average family income of 20k per month are opting for loans to get their kids into the course with the hope that their kids will earn lakhs in the next 2-3 years.
    This is highly unethical.

Prakhar is actually putting forward more logical points about the coding debate.
Like every other subject in school (which a kid doesnt choose to study), if coding is introduced, thats like an added subject that they can get exposure to and then when they are old enough to understand things and decide on career path, they at least have the knowledge to decide what they want to do or not.
Having said that, coding is definitely being sold commercially without this rationale in mind. But I’d rather have my kid get exposure to this skill (which clearly is very relevant) than not.
I guess this is all subjective.

So just carefully listen to the conversation from 1:43:19
What Shwetabh says is correct that let the child figure out his/ her interests , don't force anything .
But prakhar's excellent point is that interest develops because it is "ACCESSIBLE" , so prakhar is just saying to make coding accessible at a young age and not keep it for college so that a child can figure out if he is interested or not at a young age.
PS- Eg. bcho ko cricket ya singing, ya jese shwetabh ne kaha sketching me interest h kyunki uske aas paas log krte h sketching ya khelte h cricket ya krte h singing , to vo accessible h , agr bche ko sketching ka concept hi pta nhi hoga , ya (hypothecally)bche ko kbhi kisine cricket nhi dikhaya , use pta hi nhi h cricket kya hota h, to usme khan se cricketer bnne ka passion aayega bhai 😂.

So ina nutshell, learn code at the age of 5 is baseless and useless

Prakhar's argument is that technology is evolving at such a high pace, that in order for people to survive. they should know the language of computers which is coding.
That is not true. Unless you're in the job of creating actual software, you don't really need it. They are a lot of abstractions that are added on top of the code that the end-user interacts with. I, as a user, don't really need to know implementation-specific details like what language the software has been written in.
Secondly, you have to realize that coding is just a tool that constitutes a very small part of Computer Science. The main focus should be on problem-solving skills which is the crux of CS. Anybody can write code but only a few can write good code.

What i can understand from the coding debate -
Shwetabh - he is addressing a bigger problem of forcing things in a child's life. He is saying already itni cheezein hai jo patents push kartey hai ek new item mat daalo bacho ki life mein. Specially jab iss item ko itna bada banakey, itney achey se market karkey bechogey toh voh jitni zaruri nhi hai ussey kaafi zyada zaroori lagegi aur koi bacha jo interested nhi hai iss cheez mein fass jayega
Prakhar - he is saying that coding is important and is future. Jaha parents 10 cheezo ke liye push kartey hai waha ek aisi cheez ke liye bhi push karlo jo actually mein kaafi interesting and future ke purpose se important bhi ho.
I think - shwetabh is a addressing a bigger problem related to parents and Prakhar is right in saying ke bachey ko aggar aap expose karogey nhi toh pta kaisey chalega usko ki coding bhi kli cheez hai. Jaisey aggar bachey ne kabhi life mein cricket dekha hee na ho toh life mein cricketer banney ke liye aspire kaisey karega.
Both are speaking from their own experiences I guess.

@Brainless Mind Bro Captain Sinbad just released a video lately 'If NoFap was a movie'. He quoted - "You can either die a wanker or become who you were born to be". I have tried this myself man, it surely helps you focus better in life. There are so many guys around us addicted to shit like this (porn) and that is the sole reason why NoFap videos are becoming popular. Not too sure of all the videos but love Captain's work.
Got a bit disappointed with Shwetabh (for the first time). If you watch his podcast with Salil Jamdar (Indian brand ambassador of NoFap), Shwetabh was amazed by this concept and here I don't know why he ignored/supported what Prakhar said. I kind of liked Prakhar initially but unintentionally or intentionally, he displays hypocrisy sometimes. In the last podcast, he (along with Shwetabh) was slamming pick-up artists and just recently, he interviewed Sirhud Kalra (who makes videos like - 'ladki ko kiss ke liye kaise razi kare' 😂). Also, Prakhar just blew the fuck away what 'OneItis' really means (last podcast). Gave a wrong idea to Shwetabh aur apna bhai rant karne lag gaya.
Prakhar has some good content as well (video - baap personality - mind blowing) but kabhi kabhi pata nahi ye attention ke liye karta hai ya bas overconfident hai kuch situations mein. Whatever it is, ranveer ki g*** ni maarni chahiye jab khud ek topic ki galat definition ya evaluation kar rha hai.

NoFap isn't that of a big deal as it is hyped and ofc everybody will react differently to every practice, I agree to that. Logically put, every man must try what works for him.
