Most visitors to Zion NP have time only to visit Zion Canyon, which is very crowded. Keep in mind that the variety of backcountry hikes in Zion is enormous. I regularly spend 7-8 hours at a time hiking in Zion without seeing a living soul. It's a magical place.

    Very nice subjective list
    My own preference
    1. Bryce
    2. Canyonlands
    3. Arches
    4. Zion
    5. Capitol Reef
My favorite base town to stay in Utah is Moab. Just a beautiful and convenient town to drive to Arches and Canyonlands. Can’t wait to go back!
    Thanks for sharing

Moab is awesome. We used it as our 'home base' while visiting Arches, and Canyonlands, like you said. What a great town. Thanks for watching!

Canyonlands Needles section is a very empty place, there is no scenic drive only hiking but these hikes are amazing. I mean hiking to Druid Arch is awesome. If this arch was more accesible then it would be an overused icon like Delicate Arch. Then Capitol Reef, hike early morning to Hickman Bridge. I did that 2 years ago and at sunrise it was gorgeous. I heard a mountain lion roar in the distance and when the sun hit the bridge it was magic. This is a park wich will reveal its secrets if you hike in. Or take the drive to Cathedral Valley and be there at sunset. Pure magic and no others there.

I heard the same thing about Canyonlands... Thats one of the trails I am looking forward to Druid Arch/Needles.

awesome. been wanting to do this forever, but tours outta vegas keep getting canceled due to Covid. I booked again for Zion/Bryce and I hope it'll work this time. I'll go back when I have more time and outta season. thanks for the info! So cool.

Weird. Utah didn’t really take Covid very seriously. Have you managed to go? We’re starting an adventure business soon. Funny thing is all of these things can be experienced in other less popular parks.

So if one is thinking of going to these parks, when if “off season” and what is the downside of going during “off season?” Not into major hiking, more into photography and just experiencing the beauty.

Thanks for the list. I’m planning a trip for the family and I’m sure we won’t have time to visit all 5. Have you visited Big Bend National Park. I recommend it if you haven’t. Not at all crowded!

I went to arches in April and it was pretty hot mid day and very busy. I plan to return in the winter to see more with less crowds.

Hmmm. How old are they? I suppose you could, but, it doesn't seem like too good an idea. We don't have any kids ourselves so, not sure.

Monument Valley isn't a reserve it is a Reservation. It is pronounced MAYSUH not Me Suh. I find your analogy of these places rather absord. I agree with you that Arches can be busy, but Zion is far busier. Heck, you can't even drive your car into it. I would never attempt to rank these. Giving pros and cons is fine but everyone enjoys places for different reasons. I like all 5 parks equally and have been to all of them multiple times. With any popular park, get there at 5 or 6 AM for the best experience. This can be said for all national parks. Sunrise at Delicate Arch is far different than Sunset. I have never understood why people go at Sunset because the arch and sun typically aren't in the photo anyway. it is so much easier at Sunrise and there is nobody there.

Hey, it's just our opinion. Was intended to help people who might want to go to some of the mighty five, and don't have time to to see them all. Wasn't meant to be critical of them and offend anyone. Sorry if our wording might've been too strong, we are new to talking to the camera and are still learning. We also have a vlog of our experience at each of the parks, so you can see what we saw and how we came to our conclusions. In the end, we enjoyed them all, and Utah was our favorite state to travel through on our roadtrip. Thanks for watching and commenting, hopefully I cleared things up a little.

Living in Utah, I've visited all of the parks many, many times. The thing about Bryce is, though it is great and really beautiful, it's tiny. You can see it all in a few hours. This takes it down the list for me. Zion is by far the best, and definitely ranks up there as one of the best parks in the nation. Yes it's crowded, but the park is actually quite large and there is plenty to do in other less crowded locations beyond Zion canyon. Zion canyon is always packed. But you can do things like Kolob canyon, the Subway, the West Rim trail, etc. Though Capitol Reef isn't as pretty as the others, it is still spectacular, and we do love the lack of crowds. I will say about Arches, there are also less-crowded spots in Arches as well. Plus because of the HEAT, we tend to do Arches in the off season anyways when it is less crowded.
    1. Zion
    2. Arches
    3. Capitol Reef
    4. Bryce
    5. Canyonlands

You are lucky to be from Utah! This was our most memorable, and favorite state of our entire 3+ month road trip. We really had no experiences that we didn't enjoy. In terms of the 'might 5' they are all great, and all worth seeing. They all have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching and commenting. We know you are enjoying Utah!😜
