Wouldn't a 12 x 3060 TI rig cost less and earn about the same daily fiat? Plus, the 3060 TI rig is GPU, so it would be MUCH more flexible as it can mine other algorithms.
I just did the math roughly as I thought the same thing...and you are correct in that 60ish mh at 120w would get you close to the 750 mark for 12 of them and its only a difference of about 150w
@@livingourdestiny9075 I was able to order 12 EVGA's FTW3 3060 TI for 470ish. I don't have them yet, but as long as the vendor makes good, the math holds up. That puts my TOTAL capital outlay right at 7k or 5k cheaper than the ASIC.

There is no ASIC for ETH. ETH is ASIC proof. This device is basically made of loads of smaller GPUs and put in a housing that looks like an ASIC. It is NOT an ASIC!
It is known that when ASICs are manufactured, they are "tested out" for about 5 months or so - which is another way to say they are used to mine - then they seem to be sold when it looks like they are still profitable, but will lose it within a year. In June 2020, there were a lot of ASICS on the secondhand market for under $50 - including the L3+ and a few from Baikal. Now that these "door stops" have started turning a profit, some of the secondhand prices are now upwards of $2000 - even though the l3+ has gone up from $50 in June 2020 to what seems to be an average of $300 right now - even though it's not turning a profit, but it is losing a lot less. If the price of LTC ever goes to where it brings in a net of more than $1/ day, the L3+ most likely will jump to $500 or more on the secondhand market.
If prices keep going up, profitability will come sooner rather than later, since the holded will also increase. Similar things happened to older ASICs that minded for a loss during the summer. If someone happened to be mining at a loss back in Summer 2020 and their coins turned during the past 3 weeks, ROI came fast. Some ASICs I expected to never ROI, suddenly ROI already just these past 2 weeks.
How exactly that works? Let say it actually does the 700/750mh/s with 1350W intake, that should have pay off approximately 2500$ a Month, please correct if Im wrong ;) And just a quick note, for me that's the only option to actually get into Mining as I would have wait probably around a 6/8 months for any reasonbly GPU and Im pretty sure a lot of people are im the same situation
@@ernon69 Profitability isnt set in stone tho? ETH2 is coming and with it ETH1mining will die. Asic miners are made for 1 specific algorithm. If mining that specific one isnt profitable anymore you're fucked. On gpus you can change what you want to mine with a simple plugin... not to mention that with gpus you can atleast resell them later down the line to people building personal computers if mining isnt working out anymore, whilst with an asic its not gonna be that simple.

I built two RX 5600 XT 6 gpu rigs in Oct for $4700 US including tax and shipping. They have been mining 500+ Mh/s under 1500w into BTC. So if I had built 3 rigs it would make 750 MH/s for under $7100 US. I know the cost of equipment is high, but the A10 Pro is crazy high price. Time will only tell if it's a good investment.

So I'm looking at buying a few Innosilicon A10 Pro+ ETH Miners for £3000 each (I live in the UK) and hoping to be going into profit after 150 days since a lot of people certain Ethereum is gonna blow up this year. In the UK the electricity bill is 40p an hour so it's quite inconvenient but not unbearable, I'm also aware Ethereum won't be able to be mined forever since the arrival of 2.0 is wanting to wipe out Eth Mining so I might only have a year maybe more of profitability, but nothing stops me from after mining other coins. Would you say my plan is a good one? If you were in my position would you do this?
I would be careful with changing the splitters, most of the time the wires that go with a electronic product are tailor made. A lot of times it’s perfectly measured. Just my 2 cents

The cable could just have thicker insulation surrounding the wire, unless stated otherwise on the cable itself. I find i get alot of thin walled splitters from china capable of handling the same current as my thicker splitters. Just some useless information but thought id leave my 10c

EIP1559. Which will burn txn fee. Originally txn fee will goes back to miner it rewarded to next block find. But with EIP1559 the txn fee will just gone. This lower eth reward in the next block. So in the extreme if eth price got lower it will be not profitable. Well even without EIP1559 if the goes even lower its not profitable. This update just make the profit limit benchmark goes higher.

My understanding is you need to run it for about an hour ( for it to warm up) and then do the tuning. It looks like you might need to reload and restart the tuning? If you need to sell any rigs or ASIC for ETH let me know! :)

Once this machine is done with autotuning, this will make $48 a day. That's $17, 400 a year. Very much worth it.

ASICs are tuned for performance and longevity, not noise. The fans are cheap to replace so they run max speed to sustain the other components.

My rig does 715 MH/s and definitely cost far less than $12k to build lmao. Granted, it’s not nearly as efficient. I’m at 1780 watts

So am I wrong that 6kish worth of 3060ti will get you around 750 mhash? So why would you spend double that?! I get its a little easier set up but for 12k you could get 2x the mhash. I'll take the small hassle for double the pay

For 12000 you can get 24 3060ti at 500 dollars, which if ran at 60 Mh, would net you almost 1500 Mh. Of course power consumption is another thing.
