I've stop using deodorant around a month or so ago. I've also stop wearing makeup. However, I do use mascara. This makes it easier to get out the door in the morning. Since fasting my skin is clearer and I find that I don't need makeup to be beautiful because I'm naturally beautiful. This lifestyle change definitely boost my self confidence. I'm so grateful for all you and your siblings do to educate us on the TRUTH about health. Thanks!
I love hearing this. I'm not a big fan of makeup never have been but since learning about the fact that it's poisonous for women I'm not a fan of it at all. Nothing beats natural beautiful skin with that glow lol.
I clicked on this for the title alone because my cousin Lisa stopped wearing deodorant about two years ago. She totally changed her eating habits, eliminating sugar, completely, and eating "green", she stopped wearing makeup, jewelry, and deodorant. Now, I can't wait to listen to your perspective on this subject.
I used to use a mixture of shea butter, coconut oil, baking soda and corn starch. It worked great but lately it started irritating me and making my underarms dark. I read that baking soda and corn starch can both be irritants. So upon further research I'm trying a recipe with arrowroot and diatomaceous earth. I look forward to getting to the point that I'm clean enough to not need to use deodorant at all.
Welcome to the club. I stopped in 2016 and this automatically encourages healthier eating as you dont want to be driving people away with a stink. Also the drinking of distilled water helps to clear out the garbage to make way for a new way of being. next chris you wont need fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash, im happy for you.
Hi Chris....I’m a Keto and these were my thoughts, also as I wanted to get rid of “aluminum” from antipersperitant. Even not using anything, I would not perspire....in other words, the pores were blocked from all the chemicals, etc, stopping any perspiration. We need to perspire as that is how our body throws off toxins. So I made my own stick deodorant. Works very well as I know I am perspiring but without the odour. Before I began using the homemade I made a paste of Bentonite Clay and placed it in my armpits for about 20 minutes to draw out the toxins. This was done one time only. Then showered. I will include my recipe: 1/3 c coconut oil, 3T beeswax pellets, 2T Shea butter, 1/3 c arrowroot powder, 2T baking Soda, a few drops essential oil, if desired. Melt all together on low heat, pour in deo stick mold...works like a charm. Incidentally, I have switched from regular baking powder for baking as it also has aluminum,,,now use Bob’s Red Mill Baking Powder (no aluminum). Hope this helps someone.
Wow! What an AWESOME Accomplishment to be able to not wear deodorant (chemical or natural) and not Smell!!! I would LOVE to get to this point and not wear deodorant!!! The key is to start and stay the course!!!
I notice my small changed with intermittent fasting. It crazy I never thought about that before your video. Fasting really did change my smell. I lost 120lbs with OMAD. it is really life changing
Happy Sunday Chris.... loving the hair .....About 20 + yrs ago a friend of mines dad was vegan and didn't use it either.. Thanks for this can't wait to get on that level. Vegan almost 9 mths .....
I tried just using the Tom’s natural deodorant and it just wouldn’t last long enough. But now that I’m fasting...I think I’ll give it another go around. Your diet does directly effect your sweat PH.
I have too. Fresh squeezed lemon juice diluted with water and a few drops of tea tree oil works like a charm. I keep it refrigerated in a mason jar. I do a lot of exercise and it keeps me all day!!!
I stopped commercial deodorant years ago. We use volcanic clay once and a while. And in between I make deodorant with milk of magnesia, arrowroot powder, witch hazel and essential oil. Smells so good..and we don't need every day. For my teenaged kids just adds more self confidence...
Well we all use a lot of chemicals in modern society but would you learn the negative effect that these chemicals have on your body you have a responsibility to yourself to do better you know what I'm saying. There's plenty of Alternatives if you feel like you need to products theres a healthy version of everything. One by one just learned about how you can make your own products at home and start eliminating the costly deadly chemicals.
I notice on extended fasts I don't smell at all after first few days. I follow a vegan diet, but its not always the most healthy foods so I do tend to smell without deodorant. I decided about 15 years ago I didn't like what was in mainstream deodorant and switched to using salt stones. They work perfectly for me and if I make sure to apply it liberally enough it usually lasts all day even if I sweat a lot, no smells.
Quite enjoyed it. I've tried some crystal rock deodorants. The one that didn't look like a roll on was fiddly, but, it worked real well. I found the one that does look like a roll on is less effective. I'm not even sure it is doing anything. I have, though, used coconut oil for both cleaning myself up a bit during a dry fast and as deodorant, to kill some of the smell. It kills bacteria and microbes, internally, so why not externally? It worked. I have used olive oil simply for cleaning my armpits. I did not try it as deodorant. Diatomaceous earth and talcum powder both proved good for absorption. However, that's not a big problem for me, except maybe on my feet, if the shoes have little or no airflow.
Of topic, can you please advise, just completed a 12 day water fast but decided to stop it as was feeling unwell due to period symptoms,I plan on doing 5-2 as of tomorrow but will I go through the same process as before as in headaches, etc or will my body react better as it's only 5 days water and 2 days healthy eating? Thanks
A Healthy Alternative I decided I no longer wanted to use it & I just stopped. I didn’t sweat a lot anyway, so what was the point of it. I go to the gym 6 days a week & when I do sweat, I don’t smell, so it was a win win situation ✊🏾
After My first 3 day fast , I didn’t need deodorant . I realize that what I put into my body was what was coming out my pores. When I went back to eating, I needed a little more “just in case” in my mind. But even when I sweat, I don’t smell.
Coming to that realization meant everything for me. I'm so happy to be aware of it. Ive change so many different products. Pretty much don't use anything and everything I use I make it home so I know what it is.
I've only been at this for a year and my diet is not quite where I need or want it to be. However, I have improved enough thus far that I can get away with only using Tom's deodorant from Walmart. It doesn't have aluminum or artificial fragrances or preservatives. Yes, my work is physically intensive. Like you said, it's a process. Chris, thanks for making this video!

This is so true... when I fast, my skin is clearer and more beautiful but when I stop, and do not eat healthy, it is just a catastrophy...
So if you like good skin it can be motivation to eat healthy 😊

Coconut oil with arrowroot powder and/or baking soda is amazing.. let’s you sweat, but absorbs it.. completely natural, and super duper cheap!
