Great review as always. I went with the CZ after shooting both pistols. The CZ just felt right and is a great shooter.
I know S&W makes excellent firearms. It just comes down to the individual taste.

Excellent review! I've had the P-10C for a little while and absolutely love it. Just picked up the M&P 2.0 9mm compact and haven't had a chance to take it out yet. However, so far I love everything about the M&P. Big fan of both CZ and S&W.

My family and I were in Louisville, KY for a week in preparation for our oldest son's wedding. During that week, I was able to get away with the Mrs. and take her to a local firearms store and pistol range (no names, please). We were able to check out the CZ P-10C and the M&P 2.0 (I think the M&P was the full size) at the range. Let me tell you this much . . . BOTH pistols are well worthy of your consideration if you're in the market for a polymer frame striker fire pistol. Which did I prefer? The CZ P-10C because of the ergonomic grip and the trigger. With enough ammo at my disposal, I could've killed all the zombies in Louisville at 7 yards without even breaking into a sweat . . . provided I could have someone feed me loaded magazines.

Great review! I ended up buying the M&P, quality is excellent but the trigger felt very mushy. I switched it out with an Apex flat trigger and now it's unbelievable. And swapped out the sights for trijicon HD XR. It's now super accurate and I feel that Apex trigger should be a standard option, it's so good.

I still feel bad for all the guys purchasing them during the pandemic. I remember the days where Smith and Wesson always had a rebate. I picked up the full size M&P 2.0 at $370ish after rebates. The CZ P10C was around $400 as well. Now the standard M&P 2.0 (full size, compact, and subcompact) is at least $550 around me in the Jacksonville area. The CZ P10F (haven't seen a P10C) is at least $500. These guns are still worth it at those prices, but I still miss the cheaper prices. Hopefully the prices comes back down when everything goes back to normal.

I picked up a P10c months before this video after renting and testing out 7 different similar sized 9mm pistols - the M&P came in 2nd place. There was zero difference in cost where I live. The Glock came in dead last in my testing. Now I do understand the utility of the Glock, especially the proliferation of their magazines, but their weapons are not as ergonomic nor price competitive.

The M2.0 line overall is outstanding. My M2.0 Compact 9mm has been excellent. M2.0 prices are very low and M&P mag prices are very good and you can find them. I loce CZ handguns and own an Sp01 Tactical, RAMI BD 9mm and P07 9mm. The P10C has had some troubles and I think the design may even need some rework. The M2.0 wins for me.

I own and really like both of these pistols, but if I could choose only one, it would be the M&P. The recently recognized "failure to return to battery" problem with the CZ P-10c is something I was able to manually replicate on my own CZ. Even setting aside that potential problem, the "feel in hand" ergonomics of the M&P are probably the best I've ever experienced on any handgun. Install an Apex trigger and you have what is probably the closest we've seen to the "perfect" all-around pistol. It is really that good.

I have the "ml" grips and sometimes i do have to really set the mag in to get a lock. Thinking about sanding down the square notch from the grip just a hair cause it doesnt happen with the small grips

I have a smattering of hammer and striker fire pistols, in various sizes, but I prefer hammer and double-action types. However, for concealment I've been carrying a Sig P-320 XL (sub-compact), which I am very happy with...but I don't consider it to be a very good range pistol. Honestly, I would prefer to carry my full-size Berettas or Sigs or 1911s, but I cannot conceal carry them. Open - sure, concealed - like trying to conceal an AR-15 IMO.
So I thought that a compact pistol (3.9 - 4.0 inch barrel) would fit the bill for a nice range/conceal combo weapon. Not to long ago I was considering a CZ P-07 vs CZ P10 C...and just happened to come across a P07 at a gunshow for a terrific price. But just the other day I was considering a P10 C vs M&P 2.0 Compact for the missus. I bought her a M&P Shield Plus, but she didn't like, but she loved the M&P Shield EZ (much easier to rack and the barrel is 1/2" longer. I don't blame her because, while the Shield Plus is comfortable in the hand, I too didn't enjoy shooting it at the range. Anyway, I put my hands on a M2.0 Compact the other day and we both loved it. So that's her compact carry. To be honest, as much as I love the CZ P-07...the M2.0 Compact was pretty sweet. So I enjoy the comparison and I've decided to also get the P-10 C. What the hell...we love nice guns. Enjoyed the comparison.

The CZ is a really nice pistol.. I'm looking to add one to my lineup. The m&p m2.0 compact is also a really good one. I paid 309.99 for mine new pre-covid, was about $350 otd. Mine came with night sights, 3 mags, and the manual safety which I've removed and installed the factory frame plugs. I've put 500-550 rounds through mine. It's accurate, and broken in the trigger is pretty nice so no real need to upgrade. I did put a rubberized talon grip on mine for cc which I'd highly recommend. I put the same type grip on all my guns so the grip feel is similar in my hand.

I don’t have a caliper but the MP comes with 4 total grips and each one changes the feel of the gun dramatically. Swapping them out can be done in seconds. I dont have a p10c but the 2.0 with the small grip would likely fit her needs.

I really love my P-10c, my biggest complaint is that no major sight manufacture makes sights for it. So no Truglo, Trijicon or the like. Most are from CZ customs and Cajun Gun Works and for the most part are lacking. I've gotten so used to my Truglo TFX sights that I was saddened that they don't make them for the P-10c nor do they seem to be even considering making sights for the P-10c.
Also to remove the back straps on the P-10c is a pain, it uses a 2mm pin to hold the back strap in place and it's a long one so make sure your punch is long enough. I had to use an old 5/64 drill bit to do the job.
Otherwise the P-10c is a great handgun, I love to shoot it.

I will have to say that 3 years later I am still carrying my P10c. I did find some great sights from Night Fission and upgraded the trigger shoe with one from HB Industries, their flat face model. I then added a rubber Talon grip, which I do on all by handguns. All in all I have 1000's of rounds shot through this excellent handgun and it's still going strong. I do wish the magazines were a little cheaper and easier to find but have made due to buying them when I do find them for sale.

I love both of these but have really been taken in by the new M&P 2.0's. I love the aggressive grips and these two IMO have the best grips on the market. I think the M&P has an advantage as far as price, I've gotten all 3 of my 2.0's for well under $450. In contrast I paid over $500 for the CZ but it is definitely worth it. This is a tough choice but considering all factors of the pistols and the price I would choose the M&P. If price was not a factor I might choose the CZ. One of the things that made me pick the Smith and Wesson compact was the fact that there was a lot of play in the slide at the front on the CZ also my CZ had a couple of problems along the way the spring and the pin for the trigger were coming out that is not good I’m sure they corrected it but they had a similar problem on the P07 duty model and it just looked redundant to me because I had that as well so the Smith and Wesson was hands-down the winter and the Trigger is definitely more than good enough and good enough not to change I am comfortable with it through and through

@sootch00 the M&P might have a better slide release, but the CZ has a slam release, so if you “slam” (when I say slam it’s really not that hard just a little harder than normal) the magazine into the weapon the slide will automatically release and drop

I like both guns, I do prefer the CZ guns over any other guns I have hands down. The triggers on the CZ are second to none from my personal perspective. You cant go wrong with either of these guns like you said.

If only you could have the P10C trigger in the M&P
