- Here is All of the Army gear that I have been issued. I just wanted to basically show all of you how much stuff it was and maybe show a few things. MOST of it is winter/wet weather gear with a few other miscellaneous things sprinkled in.

my favorite was the 19 pairs of gloves they gave us and barely ever let us actually wear because "reasons"
For those wondering what you can do if you lose a piece of gear and it's time to turn it back in: find a military resale store. Cheaper than paying the full retail price.
I had a Soldier in my unit at Bragg who got out of the marines and came back into the Army and went Airborne and later did Ranger School. He was very impressed with the Army and how much better the Army's equipment and gear was compared to the Corp. He talked about how they always got the Army's used equipment and gear and how it was frustrating because they were always told how much "better" they were than the Army, just to find how much better the Army was funded compare to the Corp, and much more Schools the Army had and much more the Army deployed.
So true
I ship out in 2 weeks to fort jackson wish me luck
Louie Watson lol why is it called relaxing jackson
People claim it is the easiest basic training because they don’t train any combat arms MOS soldiers but only support MOSs
How it go?
Mike Good luck 🍀
Kevin Olschesky, say that to a active duty DS whos been deployed before, i dare ya
Vibram is the name of the sole the boot not the actual brand of the boot
THE BULLFISH the brand is more than likely Belleville.
Sultan Hazel xD gotta love them pricey boots for each soldier
It's the vibram wellco icw
us.vibram.com/wellco-icw-boot/wellco-icw-boot.html
There are several different brands that make the same boots, the ones that I got issued were Rockies
THE BULLFISH it's vibrant
I looked today on my OCIE layout paper. It would be $2,600 to replace all that gear.
Matt Ward out of pocket?
Hurry up and turn in your ACU stuff... before you lose any of it.($$$$)..and keep your paper work...
Matt Ward is it possible for you to get deployed?
Matt Ward it would suck if you had to pay full cost for everything
Matt Ward I wanna join the army I’m only 16 but I have seizures so I don’t know if they will let me?
So. Much. Stuff.
Dalan Cluff You get deployed and that’s not even half of it when I was issued my deployment gear it was unbelievable how much do you have
@@charliehowell6458 where did you deploy and how long??
It's cool stuff tho
That is a lot of stuff. I hadn't realized how much you men and women have.
🐘🐘🐘
God bless, you.
those goggles are SICK AF
Vibrant is the brand of the sole, Bates or Bellville are the normal brand of boots issued
*vibram
I joined in 2003, when we still had BDUs, then ACUs, then OCPs. I got out in 2013. 4 tours later then medically retiring, turning my gear in was a nightmare.
The mask that covers your face is called a Balaclava
I have a friend who calls it a baklava. I don't correct him.😁
The mask can do more harm than good if it's below -15. There was no hole for your mouth and nose. The moisture you breath out will get into the fabric and on to your face freezing your skin
hello there wow
@@adri9795 baklava is turkish cake 😂

When I was in the army I didn't have to pay for my army gear (uniforms, boots, etc). Today they pay for everything & it is not cheap.
Dangg and yepp
Wait you have to pay for the gear?
Lightning Blade32 That’s what im wondering lol
Lightning Blade32 nop
You will get issue everything and active duty gets uniform salary every amount of time
If you lose you gear when you have to turn it in you will have to pay it but if you have everything you just turn in and done you don’t get to keep you gear this guy was extremely misinformed

Vibram is not only a brand, but it's also used to describe the tread on boots. We used to go to the shoe store and look for boots, but always told sales that we wanted vibram soles on the boots. They've always been the best soles for work, rough terrain, slippery areas, etc...It's not surprising that the Army actually uses Vibram brand boots.
Benning bound! Just want to thank you for all your hard work and videos- they've helped me prepare mentally and physically more than any other channel 🙏🏽
Pro tip, upgrade your sleeping pad to a Klymit Static V Recon insulated self inflating pad, it's coyote brown and way more comfy. Put the pad in the bivy underneath your sleeping bag to avoid puncturing. You'll sleep way better that way...
I appreciate you doing all this work just for an informative video. Thanks Matt
5:24 was a nice opening thingy I watched it like 10 times lol
Love the video Matt. I'm a ex soldier myself from the British army and I have still got my old gear and the MTP Gear
Thank you for all your videos and the information. Much Appreciated.
just found your channel, plan on joining the army and love your channel so informative!
Hey Matt, you did great! This is so much more than we were issued in '71. :-)
Hey man thanks for all your videos you've been a great help!
Glad they help :)
Thank you matt! You da man!
Thank you! This video answers a lot of questions.
Thanks Matt ward for telling me stuff to know for the army
When I was issued my gear it all and I mean all, fit in my duffle bag. I sat in a field in 1968 with all my field gear waiting to be deployed with that duffle bag, rifle and a radio.
546 cowboy i know this might be a stupid question but did you serve in Vietnam in ‘68
What service did you serve in?
ooh I like that introduction to the intro ❤️
Thank you for your service.
Bro Matt. I’ve watched a crapload of your army vids. I gotta confess I’ve also watched recently kidthndr2 and his videos. Bro your on a whole other level when it comes to vlogging!
As a retired Marine, I look at that pile of TA-50 (782 or 'deuce' gear, in the Marine Corps) junk and ask, 'Where in the BARRACKS (I didn't say Barracks in my original thought) are you going to keep that HALF-SEMI-TRUCK full of gear?! We had wall lockers that could basically accept your uniforms, a 3-drawer stand (inside) that could hold your T-shirts, skivvies and socks; and enough remaining room beside the 3-drawer stand (if you packed everything right) to place your seabag and your medium ALICE pack (yes, I date my service by the beloved ALICE pack). What you have on that floor is about 3x what we were issued...from 'a poncho AND a wet weather suit' to a 4-piece sleeping bag system (that you don't actually use) to a 'dry bag' that replaced the old WP (water proof) bag...which was hated by most, not because of the top closure, but because IT WAS PATHETICALLY WEAK and was easier to tear holes in than your finger through wet toilet paper! (and, supply never kept enough of them because of this...let alone them whining that you were abusing gear by tearing them up all the time).
As for your rifle...understood, it's in the armory locked up (but assigned to you by serial number)...HOWEVER, since WHEN did 'higher ups' decide that you didn't need the old GAS MASK? My god, that is essential 'individual gear', just like a sleeping bag and a pack...isn't it?
Bottom line: even as of 1990, we could (and have done) 12-15 mile road marches WITH ALL 782 gear IN OUR PACKS, ON OUR BACKS...with rifles!!! There is NO WAY modern servicemen could hump THAT MUCH GEAR (without a trailer truck assist). I see the Pentagon has grown FAR LESS INTELLIGENT as time has gone by...and that is saying something!
When I was in in 85 there we no camel backs just 1 quart canteen.
why not evolve gear to provide more for soldiers? Do you want a merit for only having a canteen?
Mesun Mesun we didn’t have any option as that’s all they had at the time I was I the Army.
All your videos are great 👌
Thank you for your services
Thank you for your service
Your channel helping me ALOT!
Awesome :) Glad to know it helps!
Just graduated from A-Co 1-46 Fort Benning, Ga. 2 weeks ago. In Fort Drum NY at my unit . For me it was more mental than physical. Don’t doubt yourself, PUSH AND STRIVE FOR GREATNESS.
Leaving for Benning tomorrow, thank you for the vid
7:52 ... If you lose something, check surplus shops. It's cheaper than getting a Statement of Charges (you get the cost of whatever you lost taken from your pay).
I was in the reserve in the 90s. You like my son brought home a lot more gear than we did. Ours stayed at our unit except for the uniforms.
I thought this would be atleast 2 hours long once i saw all the stuff you unpacked.
Damn that backpack liner makes me jealous. In basic training when I was conscripted in Germany, we just had to buy large, sturdy trash bags at the next store to keep our stuff dry. 😂
Garbage bags are a camping lifesaver in bad weather.
The music at 1:02 brought me back to the old youtube days lol
Type of TA 50 issue has changed over the years. I enlisted in the US Army in 1989 and they were still issuing Vietnam era gear and starting to change to the more contemporary BDU design. This later evolved into the issue that CIF is issuing today.
Back in my day LOL 68 we bought a second set of TA 50 one set for inspection and one for work still have some of mine laying around.
I Used it till I retired.
damn thats awesome, so much stuff
Thank u for ur service
Thx for your survice
Sup dude love your vids keep it up
Thanks!
Ahhh gotta love that back destroyer...oops I mean ruck sack
Also I wanna see you go from civilian to combat ready like before and after you put on ALL the gear
Just found your channel really good have my sit down with recruiters on Monday idk yet if i will join the reserve yet
If you are talking about your TA-50 gear, then you have it made. When I started out in 1989, you were issued your TA-50 gear at CIF in the post you were assigned to. When you PCSed to another post whether it was in CONUS or OCONUS, you had to turn in all of the TA-50 that was issued to you back to CIF. Nowadays, you get to keep some of the TA-50 and ship it as part of your unaccompanied baggage to your new assignment. Some of the TA-50 was turned in like the stuff that is specific to the location you were assigned to and the stuff that is common to all assignments is what you get to keep. Tings like your MOLE gear is what you get to keep just to name a few.
Good luck soldier
Good stuff brotha, Just found you channel
Thanks!

I like the blanket on the bed, i have one very similar and it is very comfortable
this man still out here with the gravel parking lot camo
Love the vids
Back in the mid 80s we had woodland cammo and black boots that you were required to keep shined to the same level as the low quarters also Class As which were green. With the cammo trousers we were required to maintain a 2 inch blouse at the boots.
My MEPS are September 11th for the Army I’m so excited
put it on man
Good lord thats a lot of stuff, I don't remember all that stuff in the late 80s and early 90 to mid 90s!!
I admire all the man in uniform coz they sacrifice alot just to make us civilians safe to the bad guys. Salute to all of you guys.😊
the ACU uniform looks so good
THANKS FOR SEVING
Man ever since I was a lil kid,I wanted to join up. Sadly drugs messed up my opportunity/marijuana induced psychosis.....till this day I regret the fucking choices I committed in my early teens!!!
I've been smoking marijuana and tobacco since 13 nothing stopping me. U just have no care for the army
@@The_real_onefs bruh you sound dumb asf 🤣😭. Weed affects people differently. Everybody not the same.
good video, honestly. i didnt have to skip once to get to the part where i actually clicked this video to watch. dont change when you get bigger, great video keep it up.
Thanks man!
It's been my dream to join the army since I was like four preferably marines but I like army to
Not to sound like a private in BCT, but the OCP is ACU. ACU means it’s a combat uniform and does not refer to the pattern it takes, whether that is OCP or UCP
The goggles are dope.
HA HA HA HA Vibram is the brand of the soles of the boot. I believe that boot is produced by one of the following compaines: Current manufacturers are Altama, Bates, Belleville Boot, McRae, Rocky, Warson Brands/Converse and Wellco.
I see he’s rockin the Useless Camo Pattern
Just wanna put it out there, depending on your unit and duty station, you could still get issued ACU gear. Mine’s weird because rucksack and most of my gear is OCP but I still got some ACU stuff like I got a FLC and my ammo pouches are ACU so a lot of it depends on luck. My friends that are stationed in fort Leonard wood got issued ACU stuff we used for OSUT.
Vibrum isnt a boot brand, it's an outsole (pretty sure that's the name of the tread part) brand. Its slip, water, oil, heat, cold, etc resistant. It's used on pretty much every working boot. Just a little thing to add in :)
Your the best RUclipsr and I watch navathebeast too
I can’t wait to join I am moving to the USA when I am older and me and my friend are going to be ready wish us luck
Hey Matt how often would I be deployed for natural disasters/over seas work if I’m in the national guard? I’m wondering because I’d like to join the guard and do college at the same time.
Haha that duvet looks cozy as fuck 😂
Sweet soldier of a army, that's a lot of stuff, I need strength.
Omg the blanket
In 1965 never issued a full quota. While in Louisiana was given an over coat with liner but no summer green uniform. Only given 2 sets of fatigues, shorted on summer uniforms, etc. Not only that, when you out processed they wanted things I was never issued in the first place and wouldn't let me keep my field jacket.
Nice job
Man, that's a lot of gear. All we got was 50ft of paracord, a box of storm matches, a knife and an axe.
Vibram is the sole of the boot. Those look like Donners which are actually very nice boot.
Vibram is the soles...they’re popular in woodland firefighting boots.
You should make a video about you putting it all on
I went from a detailed video on the correct way to manscape to this lmfao
i start drill on the 24th this month. What should i expect? Are we going to get any gear? If so, when?
Dry bags are great, that’s what I’ve heard those waterproof bags called
Man Im going to BCT training pretty soon what do you advise? ITs a lot of gear. Man this stuff is going to be heavy!
my dad serve from 2003 to 2010 bc a mortar hit the top of his room ( which was an old prison cell ) and i think it was abu graab iraq or something like that
Man even for deployment I didnt get that sweet dry bag....
Assuming the watertight bag is watertight(mine isn’t actually military grade) but mine waterbag kept all my shit dry when my raft took nice little flip and all my bags went into the rapids of a river.
Can someone answer this question? Why do i see some soldier with extra gear like mount racks, flash light on their helmet etc. and then some soldiers with them don’t have it. Can you buy the extra stuff? How much do the extra gear cost? BIG QUESTION HERE: Where do you go to buy these extra gear?
r_ elentless01 Oooh okay thank you, i was just curious why i see some soldier with it and some without. Understandable and thanks for answering all my questions. I’m going to the Army so i’m trying to know as much as i can after graduation.
r_ elentless01 I plan on buying the extra gear for more protection and if not that then advantage reasons you know.
