Used to listen to carnifex 15 years ago in my car to scare people riding with me...lie to my face is still one of my favorite breakdowns of all time.

So glad to see them dialing back a notch from their blackened influence. You can perceive their deathcore roots and signature more clearly here than is their recents works.
Back in like 2012-13, I think? Slit wrist savior or lie to my face were the first songs id ever heard from Carnifex, I then continued to listen to the rest of their albums, and then they dropped "Die without hope" and I was hooked. Dark days is just a masterpiece in my opinion. Just my all-time favorite deathcore band by far. Got to see them when they came to my city, didn't even know they were at the venue and I turn around thinking I'm hearing the best fucking cover band of my life, and lo and behold it was them. One of the better surprises of my life ngl.

Bass just blends so well. It's hard for me to tell it apart from the rest. But, if it's missing the song will definitely lose something. I respect the bass, just can't pick it out with my ears.

Carnifex was actually the first band that got me into core scene 15 years ago. A demo album of a crazy mix of different bands was being handed out outside of a completely different kind of concert at montage mountain PA and carnifex was the first band I listened to on the disc. (Yea kids, we actually use to use things called discs to listen to music.) I gradually shifted to metal core over time and not so much black or death but they still hold a special place in my heart
